Elle

31st December

Delilah, Ace and I walked into the frat house together and immediately I was deafened by the sound of pulsing bass music. "Do you want a drink?" Ace yelled over the music to both Delilah and I.

"Ooh, yeah, get me a Vodka Cola. I'm going to find the others," Delilah shouted back to him, and then winked at me before she began shoving through the crowds of teenagers to find our group of friends. I was looking around the room at the various people dancing and noticed that Delilah was correct, every girl in here was dressed in sheer glitter and sequins like it was some sort of dress code, and the ones that weren't stuck out like a sore thumb in the sea of people.

"Elle, did you hear me?" Ace asked and I snapped back into reality, looking up at him with a confused expression on my face. "Would you like a drink?"

"Uh, sure. I'll come with you," I said, gladly accepting when he took my hand firmly in his and aided me to get through the dancing crowd by shoving people out of his way as we went through. I was holding his hand whilst my free hand also grabbed onto his bicep so I stayed close to him.

We soon reached the large kitchen which was also filled with people who were just chatting, dancing and swaying to the music. Ace and I walked over to the countertop that was littered with various different bottles of alcohol. "What do you want?" He asked and I shrugged.

"A Vodka lemonade would be great please," I said, just wanting a simple drink. Ace began making three drinks, one for me, one for Delilah, and one for himself. I noticed he was just pouring Cola into his cup and I quirked my brow at him. "Not drinking?" I asked.

He shook his head. "I think I should probably remain clear minded, make sure you're okay tonight," he said seriously and my heart warmed a little, but I adamantly shook my head.

"It's not your job to take care of me, I'm fine. Drink if you want to," I said, and he looked at me for a few moments, very clearly weighing up his options. "Seriously, it's your New Years too," I urged, knowing he'd want to let loose too. He sighed and nodded, pouring a small amount of Vodka into his cup.

"C'mon you," he said, handing me my cup. "And people say I'm the bad influence in this relationship," he winked and I couldn't stop the chuckle that left my lips before I sipped my drink. Luckily it was Ace that had prepared this drink for me, not Delilah, and so I was able to drink it without wincing in horror at how strong it was. "Everyone else is probably in the common room," he said, it was basically the living room of a frat house where people gathered to play games.

Ace's hands were both full this time from holding two drinks, and so he got me to hold onto his arm as we walked back through the crowd together to get to the slightly quieter common room. Maya let out a similar squeal to what Delilah had let out the day before when she saw me, and soon enough a pair of arms engulfed me into a hug. "You look hot as hell. How was your Christmas?" She asked when she let me go. She was dressed in a black dress that glittered whenever the light hit it, honestly it looked amazing on her.

"Thanks, you look gorgeous too, and Christmas was great thanks. How was yours?" I asked her although I already knew it wasn't amazing.

She huffed. "I'm sure Delilah filled you in," she said, obviously recalling what she'd gone through at Delilah's home.

"I'm sorry, that must've sucked," I said to her and she just shrugged sadly before sitting back with Delilah, throwing her legs over Delilah's lap. I walked over to the rest of the group and Ace scooped me into his lap, not giving me a chance to sit beside him, and I looked down at him with a roll of my eyes which he responded to with a cute smile.

"How was your Christmas, lovebirds?" Kit asked, he seemed to be more accepting of our relationship and I hoped we could be friends because I got along with him well.

"It was wonderful thank you, how was yours?" I asked back politely, smiling down at Ace remembering how brilliant our time was.

"It was okay," he smiled, continuing to sip his drink as everyone else happily chattered. James was sat with some girl I didn't know, and as far as I could see Nina wasn't sat with the group which I was relieved about.

I happily gulped down my drink as I listened to the group's mindless conversation about their holiday's, all whilst trying to focus with Ace's lips trailing up and down my neck. He was being rather cheeky tonight, his greedy hands constantly moving for handfuls of my arse, and every time I saw his smirk in the dim light that told me he knew what he was doing.

"Elle, come dance with us!" Delilah said as she got up with Maya and the girl who was with James, who I had found out was called Jessi.

I slipped off of Ace's lap which was received with a low groan of annoyance from him, but he let me nevertheless and went to get up himself but Delilah tutted and shook her head. "I cross my heart that I'll look after her, but we're going for a girly dance," she told Ace who just rolled his eyes and sat back down.

"Don't get her too drunk, you're a bad influence," he said, which was met with a middle finger and a stuck out tongue. "See you in a bit," he winked at me and I felt a blush lift on my cheeks as I walked away with my fingers intertwined with Delilah's.

We got to open kitchen-diner area where there were speakers blasting music and students surrounding us, with various different revealing outfits on as they grinded against each other. Delilah spun me around with her hand and I chuckled before starting to sway my hips, accepting the shot that Maya handed me to throw back, relishing the burning feeling that flooded my mouth and throat.

A few shots later, we were all in a circle singing obnoxiously loud to a song we barely knew whilst jumping around like mad people. We didn't care to look sexy like the other girls, I was more happy doing whatever we were now and enjoying the hell out of it. There were lights beaming onto us of multiple colours, which honestly didn't help my spinning brain alongside the alcohol.

At one point, Maya broke off from the group to speak to some girls and Jessi had left us before we had even started so it was just Delilah and I spinning each other around and giggling like school children. A few times I saw Ace from the corner of my eye, he was stood with Kit with a drink in hand, watching us with a huge smile on his face and I couldn't help but let it warm my heart a little.

"I'm going to get a drink, want anything?" I asked Delilah, who was still singing loudly to the music and swaying her hips with her arms in the air, clutching an empty cup.

"Please, want me to come?" She asked and I shook my head, taking her cup for her.

"No, I'll be right back," I said. I looked over my shoulder to see Ace happily chatting with Kit, and so I decided not to bother him either and walked to the kitchen with both of our cups, placing them on the countertop to start making the drinks.

Through the night, the liquor bottles had started to become very empty and there were many ones lying on the counter and floor that were entirely empty. So, I selected a flavoured Vodka that seemed less popular and poured a couple shots in each cup.

"Hi," a guy walked up beside me and placed his own cup down, doing the same as me by pouring some liquor into his cup. However, I noticed he most certainly added more than a couple shots.

"Hi," I said back with a smile, reaching over to grab the Cola bottle to fill our cups up.

He looked over at me, his eyes searching my face before he smiled. "What's a beautiful girl like you doing alone in here?" He asked smoothly and I laughed slightly, shaking my head.

"Just grabbing drinks for my group," I said, being nice enough. "And then heading back to them, and my boyfriend," I said, ensuring to highlight the fact I had a boyfriend so I could let him down gently.

A grin spread across his lips, but I looked away so I could pour the soda into each of the cups. "What sort've guy would leave a girl like you to do do the hard work of getting drinks alone? Seems pretty boring," he said, his hand landing on the small of my back, dangerously close to my arse which made me freeze.

"The sort've guy that'll remove your hands from your body unless you stop fucking touching her," a booming voice sounded from behind us and I turned my head to see Ace stood behind us with a thunderous look on his face. I rather aggressively shoved the guys hand from my body and walked over to Ace, placing my hand on his arm in an attempt to calm him.

When I felt him visibly relax, I smiled slightly. "C'mon, he's not worth it," I said calmly to Ace.

He tensed again, looking at the guy. "No, it's fine. I wanna show this guy how fucking boring I am," Ace's eyes didn't leave the guy who was smiling and holding his hands up in surrender.

"Hey man, I was just looking for some fun-"

Ace tried lurching towards him but I stood in front of his body, blocking him from doing something stupid. "Come on, Ace, I'm fine. He's not worth it," I said again, finally getting Ace to look down at me. Ace sighed and then turned in the other direction, walking out of the kitchen with me following behind him, completely forgetting about the drinks.

"I wanna kill him, why didn't you let me kill him?" He said, shoving past people to get further away from the kitchen. I caught Ace's arm in my hand and stopped him from moving so he would look at me.

"Hey, stop it. I get that you're feeling jealous right now, but-"

Ace scoffed. "Jealous? No. I'm feeling pretty fucking murderous right now, Elle, that's what I'm feeling," he said, his fists clenching and unclenching by his sides.

I sighed, of course he didn't understand this emotion either. "I need you to picture what happened, that guys hand on my back. He was this close to touching my arse," I said, holding up my fingers with the smallest gap between my thumb and forefinger to show how close he was.

Ace's face's screwed up in pain. "Why the fuck would you say that?"

"That. That feeling, the one in your chest right now, the one that feels like something gnawing at your heart. That is jealousy. I'm your girlfriend, of course you don't want people touching me and that causes jealousy to take over but you can't go around punching anyone who flirts with me," I said to him and I watched as he clenched his jaw, obviously not sure how to respond.

"Come with me," Ace said and I didn't question what was happening, I threaded my fingers with his and allowed him to lead me up the stairs, shoving past anyone who got in our way until we reached a bedroom right at the end of the corridor.
