Elle's POV

Wednesday 10th October 2018

It had been a few days since Ace and I hung out and I had a great time, we chatted like best friends for hours and laughed until my stomach hurt. After that he dropped me home and we haven't seen each other since, but I didn't mind because at least for once we weren't arguing.

"Are you sure about this?" Delilah asked as I was shoving clothes into my backpack. My classes had been cancelled that day and so I was driving up to Carson's University to confront him, we hadn't spoken since the incident and I think I finally was ready to see him.

"It'll be fine," I told her. "I'm not saying I'm gonna stay with him, I just need to talk to him. We never really broke up that night or anything, we need to talk about it."

She sighed. "Only if you're sure and you need to call me when you get there and when you're headed home so I know you're safe, then when you're back we can bitch about him," she smirked and I rolled my eyes, zipping up my bag. I picked it up and threw it over my shoulder, retrieving my car keys from my bedside table.

"I'll call you," I promised and headed for the door just as it swung open. "Jesus Christ, Ace, knock!" I whined as the door nearly hit me.

"Sorry," he laughed and I rolled my eyes. "Where are you off to? You look like a woman on a mission," he teased.

"She's going to see Carson," Delilah raised her eyebrows, wanting to see her friend's reaction.

Ace snapped his gaze over to me, he did not look happy. "Like hell you are! He hit you, Elle," Ace snapped.

"I tried telling her," Delilah sang like she was saying 'I told you so'. I rolled my eyes at her.

"And it's none of your business, both of you! I'm safe and I'll be fine, I just need to talk to him about what happens now," I explained, trying to push past Ace to get out of the door.

"Then I'm coming with you," he said seriously but I immediately shook my head.

"No, no way! That'd just infuriate him even more. I'm going there unannounced so he doesn't have time to plan a script of lies he's gonna tell me and then we're gonna chat about what happened," I explained. "That's all, I need to do this alone."

Ace nodded slowly. "Call us if there's a problem," he said even though he seemed unsure.

"I will, but right now I'm going," I said and waved to them both before leaving the dorm and walking out to the parking lot. I climbed into my car and set the Sat Nav to tell me where I was headed. Then, I set off.

. . .

I got to Carson's dorm block around an hour and a half later, I knew which dorm room was his so I walked right up to it and went to raise my hand to knock but the door flew open and an unknown guy stood in it's place. "Oh, hi! Sorry, you must be Carson's roommate," I said awkwardly, dropping my hand to my side.

"Uh yeah, I am. You must be his girl," he said to me and I nodded. "I'm Ryan, his roommate, I'm just heading out but I think he's in his room if he hasn't headed out already. Nice to meet you Janelle!" He said, and then walked past me and down the corridor.

I wanted to turn and tell him he'd gotten my name wrong, but he was already gone and so I shrugged it off. Janelle is close enough to Elle, it was fine, I'd tell him next time I was here. I walked into the apartment and shut the door behind me. One of the bedroom doors was wide open and showed a very messy, disorganised room and so I assumed the one with the closed door was his.

"Carson?" I called out as I walked closer to it. I heard faint noises from inside so I assumed he didn't hear, and so I twisted the door handle and pushed it open to reveal I was there.

When I walked in, I shrieked aloud in horror at the sight in front of me. There was a completely bare blond girl bouncing on his... oh my God. Her over-the-top whiny moans immediately etched into my brain, I would try hard to erase those from my memory.

"What the fuck? Get out!" The girl yelled, immediately grabbing his duvet to cover up herself as she rolled off of him and onto the bed.

"Elle?" Carson said in panic, sitting up in the bed, pulling the duvet over his bottom half too. "Baby, what are you doing here?" He said like he hadn't just been banging some random girl.

I felt tears build up in my eyes but I would not show him weakness, I would not show that he had ruined me. "I was here to try and work things out," I said in a broken voice before turning away. I walked as quickly as I could to the door but before I could leave, he appeared and blocked the door.

"Baby, please," he begged. He had a thin sheet covering his lower half which he held up with one hand. I immediately looked away and stepped away from him.

"Baby? Why are you calling her baby?" The blond girl said, walking out of his bedroom dressed in his oversized t-shirt.

"Oh, nice to meet you love. I'm Elle, his girlfriend - well ex-girlfriend now it seems," I said spitefully, my sadness quickly being replaced with sheer anger. "I must say you deserve a damn Oscar for that performance, sweetie, because from personal experience I know his dick doesn't create those kind've noises. Really put in a shift back there, you did," I said angrily, just trying to hurt him at this point.

The girl looked at Carson, hurt. "You had a girlfriend this whole time?" She said and then looked back at me guiltily. "We've been sleeping together since we both started here," she broke to me sadly. "I had no idea he had a girlfriend, I promise. I'm Janelle," she said and suddenly it hit. His roommate thought I was this blond girl, he had obviously just never met her. How fucking wonderful for me.

I scoffed, a bitter laugh leaving my lips. "Oh that's just awesome, Carson. Real nice, what an absolute gentleman."

"It didn't mean anything Elle, I just missed you and-"

"And so you decided instead of calling me, or asking me to come and visit, instead you'd bury your dick into the next warm hole you found?" I said, tears flowing down my cheeks at that point. I was beyond hurt, I first thought he just slept with someone after mere days of our fight and actually he had been doing it all behind my back this whole time. "This is why you didn't contact me for so long? This is who you were texting the whole time you were with me?" I asked bitterly.

"Come on, Elle, we can get through this. I know we can," Carson was practically begging me, I was crying my eyes out and his mistress was watching in sheer horror and hurt.

"Get through this? Like fuck we can," I laughed, and then looked at the blond girl, trying to stop my tears from falling. "You are absolutely beautiful, neither of us deserve to be treated like this. Don't do what I did girl, don't settle for any less than you deserve," I said honestly and she smiled, genuinely smiled at me. "You don't deserve an asshole like this, neither of us do."

Carson scoffed, obviously angered I was also shooting down his chances to continue banging his new girl. "You're probably fucking that Ace guy anyway, I saw how he looked at you."

Another bitter laugh tumbled from my lips and I glared at Carson, my eyes narrowed and my hands balled into fists at my sides. "You know what? I'm not actually. But you know what? I might now. I might go back and finally find out what it feels like to be fucked by a real man, I might actually experience a real life orgasm for the first time in my life," I said through my teeth.

His nostrils flared. "You're just saying things to hurt me now," he spat out and I shook my head.

"Have a wonderful life, Carson. I thought years and years of friendship meant something to you, but quite clearly not, so I really wish you the best," I said, giving the poor girl one last smile before I turned around and stormed out of his dorm. I heard him shouting down the corridor for me to come back so we could talk, but my feet carried me down the stairs and out of the dorms entirely with tears tumbling down my cheeks.

I rushed over to my car and got into the drivers seat, immediately allowing all my emotions to crash into me. I brought my knees to my chest and dug my head into them, letting all my tears flow out as I sobbed hysterically.

He was my best friend, someone I could trust with anything and not only did he betray our relationship, he also ruined years of friendship. Years of loyalty and love, because I never expected him to do that to me.
