Elle's POV

Saturday 15th September 2018

"God, Lil, you dressed the girl like a whore," Ace commented as we slid into his car. I got into the front and Delilah got into the back, I looked down at my outfit and shrugged, he was probably just trying to get to me.

"Zip it and drive, asshole," Lila snapped at him before I could get a word out, I smiled at how she stood up for me already. "I think you look beautiful, Elle," she added at the end before sending me a flirtatious wink.

"Oh keep it in your pants, Lil. You'll scare the girl," Ace smirked as he put the car into gear and pulled out of the parking lot.

The drive there was filled with chatter from Delilah and Ace, he was boasting about how he had just 'scored' with 'the girl with the back tattoo' and Delilah gave him a high five. Their friendship was really weird. "So, are you sure you want to go to a party Elle? There's gonna be drinking and drugs," he warned with a teasing tone in his voice.

"I'm a big girl, Ace. I'm not five," I retorted and he raised one of his eyebrows, hiding a smirk under his hand. He ran his thumb over his bottom lip as he nodded.

"Mhm, so how many parties have you been to exactly? Seeing as you're a big girl?" He asked, pulling into a parking space near a massive white building with the sign "Alpha Phi" on the front.

I rolled my eyes, feeling a blush creeping onto my cheeks. "Just because I don't party every weekend doesn't mean I'm not an adult.:

Ace snorted and laughed, earning a swift slap from Delilah who shot him a glare. "You'll love it, Elle. We will get you a drink and you'll be so buzzed you won't even realise we have shit company," she smiled, shooting a look at Ace. It was my turn to giggle.

Once we had stopped bickering, we got out of the car and started walking towards the thriving Alpha Phi house. The music was pounding, shaking the floor and flooding my hearing which meant I couldn't hear when Delilah said she was going to get me a drink. She started walking off and so I rushed after her.

Delilah handed me a glass and I looked down at it, inspecting what it could be before I drank it, screwing my face up in disgust as soon as it was in my mouth. I wasn't going to lie, I had drank before back at home, but nothing that tasted as gross as that.

"That was gross!" I coughed, looking down at the drink. "What is this?"

"It's Vodka and Lemonade," she chuckled. "I just might have put in three shots," she shrugged and then linked our arms together. "Follow us, we're going to find our friends," she said. Ace went first and pushed through the crowds so that people parted for Delilah and myself coming through.

We soon ended up in the living room where there was a large group sat around the couches, lazily drinking and chatting. "Hey guys, this is my new roommate Elle," Delilah called out to the group and immediately eyes snapped up. Ace boredly walked into the circle and collapsed on a couch next to a very attractive girl with blond hair and piercing blue eyes. "That's Nina," she told me, Nina just gave me a very fake smile and nod.

"This is Kit," she pointed to a guy with blond hair and a lip piercing who was lounged on one of the couches drinking from a red cup.

"Hey," he smiled and gave me a half-hearted wave.

"James," she pointed at a kind looking brunette guy.

"Nice to meet ya, Elle," he smiled at me and I gave him a bright smile.

"And finally this is Maya, my girlfriend," Delilah pointed to a girl who had pitch black hair, she was sat next to James with a drink in her hand.

"Hiya Elle," Maya smiled at me. Delilah walked over to her and sat down on her lap, feverishly attaching their lips.

I looked away, rather surprised. "They go at it like rabbits, you get used to the constant spit-exchanges after a while," Kit chuckled when he saw my expression. "Come sit," he patted the seat next to him and I happily perched myself there, thanking him quietly.

I looked to my right to see Nina was looking me up and down, her eyebrows raised. "Freshman?" She asked and I nodded. "You're not from around here, are you?"

"No... I'm from Portland in Oregon," I said nervously, Ace whispered something in her ear and she smirked.

I glared at Ace but just decided to ignore him. "Shall we play a little game?" Delilah suggested, finally tearing herself away from Maya's lips.

"Never Have I Ever?" Nina suggested and everyone agreed happily. "Do you know how to play this?" Nina asked in a fake innocent voice directed at me.

"Yes I do," I snapped back at her with the same venom laced in my voice.

"I'll go first," Kit said to cut the tension between us. "Never have I ever... Had sex in a public place," I widened my eyes at the question, but a few of the group took a drink. Carson and I hadn't really ever ventured out of my bedroom.

"Never have I ever... Gotten a tattoo?" Maya said and I brought my cup to my lips, taking a drink alongside Ace and Kit. Nobody else drank.

Delilah looked at me and her eyebrows shot up. "Where? Show us!" She exclaimed and I laughed, moving my hair from my shoulder to show them a small pumpkin tattoo that I had gotten on my collarbone.

"That's so cute," Maya gushed. "I've always wanted a tattoo."

"What even is it?" Nina asked, squinting her eyes to look at it. "A tomato?"

I narrowed my eyes at her. "It's a pumpkin," I said and then sat back down. The tattoo was the only one I'd ever get and it was close to my heart.

"Me next!" James said, moving the topic on. "Never have I ever had a threesome," he said and I clocked out, knowing most of these wouldn't be for me.

The group continued to play the game for a while until they got bored and Delilah decided to drag me onto the dance floor with her and Maya. "Hey, what is with that Nina girl?" I asked loudly to the two of them.

"She was Lil's roommate last year, her and Ace hookup sometimes so she's stuck to us like a leech," Maya rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, she's like that with everyone."

I nodded, swaying my lips like them two were with my drink in my hand. I had only had two drinks so I was still relatively sober, but I always enjoyed to dance at the few parties I had been to. It was only a few minutes until James, Kit and Ace joined us without Nina and began dancing with us, James was laughing with me and twirling me around to the music whereas Kit was grinding with some girl, and Ace stood very stiff holding his drink.

"Are you a Sophomore too like Delilah?" I asked James loudly whilst we were dancing and he nodded.

"Yeah, we all are," he shouted back to me.

The song switched to one of my all time favourites and I squealed, grabbing James' hands to dance crazily with him again. He laughed along and continued to dance with me, definitely not sexily like everyone else, that was until he got the attention of a nearby girl and left to dance rather provocatively with her.

I didn't mind that people had decided to find their own dance partners, I was enjoying swaying my hips to the music and enjoy myself alone. That was until I felt something press up against my back and I jumped forwards, looking behind me to see a highly intoxicated man, swaying back and forth. "Hi, dance with me?" He slurred and I shook my head.

"No thanks," I said and moved away from him.

"Oh you wanna move straight to the bedroom?" he slurred, grabbing ahold of my waist and pulling me towards his chest.

I roughly shoved him off of me and stepped away from him, rushing towards the stairs to find a bathroom or something. I had tears prickling in my eyes but I wouldn't dare let any out until I found a bathroom or something where I could be alone.

I walked up the stairs and pushed open the first few doors I saw, I only found bedrooms until around the fifth door when I found the co-ed bathrooms. I burst into the room and into one of the stalls where I let out the first few tears. I picked my phone out of my purse and dialled Carson's name, waiting until he picked up.

"Hey baby, how are you?" His voice immediately soothed me and I found myself smiling.

 "Hi," I sniffled.

"Elle, are you okay? Are you crying? What's happened?" He rushed out, obviously becoming worried. We weren't used to being so far away from each other.

"I'm fine, just not adjusting to college life well," I chuckled half-heartedly. "I just needed to hear your voice."

He sighed. "I miss you too. Where are you?" He asked.

"I agreed to go to this party with my new roommate and this guy got a bit rough," I l said shakily as the tears continued to fall down my cheeks, probably ruining the masterpiece that Delilah had painted on my face.

"Oh Elle," he sounded deflated, like he didn't know how to help. "Get one of your friends and ask them to take you home, make sure you're safe," he reminded me and I nodded.

"Thank you," I smiled lightly. "I'm going to get going, see if I can get a lift home somehow."

"I'll talk later, message me when you get home safe."

 "I will, I love you," I said.

"Love you too," he said before hanging up the phone. I brought the phone down from my ear and let out a few tears before I packed it away, wiped my cheeks with some toilet paper and then walked out of the stall. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw I didn't actually look as awful as I thought I did.

I was about to exit the bathroom when the door burst open and Ace rushed through. "Fucking hell, Elle! Don't do that!" He snapped, his eyes were dark with fury as he looked down at me.
