Y/N

The four of us were sitting together, and Jihyun was answering a question that Jungkook had asked him related to school.

I sipped my wine and secretly glanced at Jungkook.

I didn't know what to feel about the situation. Don't get me wrong, I was happy that the twins were opening up to Jungkook again. However, I get the feeling that Jihyun was doing this more for me than for himself.

I don't want to force them to do something that they don't want to do and wish that they at least gave me a heads up on their plans so I could have been prepared.

The shocked look on my face when I saw him was highly embarrassing. I couldn't comprehend the situation and I'm sure that neither could Jungkook.

"So... Carmen's huh?" Jungkook's voice snapped me out of my long train of thought. He had a smug smile on his face that made me wish that my son hadn't invited him after all.

Jungkook was the one that introduced me to Carmen's. It was at one point during the company trip in Japan, we were eating wagyu steak and he told me that no other wagyu steak could be compared to the one at Carmen's.

In the past, we have mentioned going to the restaurant for our first real date night so I made reservations without his knowledge. If the past month had never happened, then tonight would've been just the two of us eating steak and sharing a bottle of wine.

"Mhm." I nodded and cut my steak into pieces without looking up at him. "Since I was given a special job offer, I decided that I had to try out the famed steaks myself."

"It's nearly impossible to get reservations at Carmen's in such a short period of time." He grabbed my plate and switched it out with his which had already been cut up. It was small things like these which made my heart flutter for him, and I really wish he hadn't. It would just make this separation harder. "I wonder how you were able to make it in such short notice."

Liar. I could see it in his eyes, he knew that I made reservations months ago.

"It just takes a call to make reservations." I casually shrugged. "But what about you Mr. Jeon? How are you able to make time for tonight? You did stop Taehyung from having dinner with us. I assumed that you were busy with the company and Sana or do you just not care anymore?"

I grabbed Jihyun's plate of uncut steak and switched our plates so he had Jungkook's cut up one. Jungkook frowned that I gave Jihyun the peace offering that he gave me, but he took it worse than I thought.

Did he expect a seven year old, who is his son, to cut up a single steak himself?

"Well as Taehyung said, I handle the business aspects and he handles the artistic ones. There was a problem where one of the employees had accidentally deleted a file that was going to be used for our newest ad and we couldn't recover it. Taehyung has to gather a team to do another photoshoot."

There was an awkward pause where none of us could say a word so I took a bite out of my steak. My eyes widened at the juiciness and texture then I failed to hold back a moan.

"Is it that good mommy?" Ji Ae questioned and took a bite when Jungkook had finished cutting up her steak. Her doe eyes turned wider and she danced in her seat.

Jihyun took a bite after seeing his twin's reaction. He tried to hold back his excitement, but I knew that he was dancing just as much as Ji Ae on the inside.

"What do you think?" I asked him.

"There is always something better." He blushed and looked away. What a conceited child.

"So when are you planning on going to New York?" Jungkook asked me.

"I've never walked a runway before, but we're currently on a tight schedule so we were planning on staying in Korea for two more weeks and spend about 3 days adjusting in New York." I told him about Taehyung and my plans. "I still need practice and Mr. Bae said that I would need to come in so he can make a few adjustments for the designs."

"Sounds like you've become very successful." Without me, is what Jungkook had wanted to say but held back.

I traced the rim of my wine glass with my finger. "Well I couldn't have done it without you or Taehyung. You've both helped me get to where I was. I wouldn't be a model if you hadn't suggested it." I raised my glass towards Jungkook. "So thank you."

Jungkook lifted his glass and we drank our wine.

The rest of the dinner had gone smoothly until our desserts arrived.

The waiter placed chocolate cakes in front of the twins and chocolate pudding with a raspberry sorbet in front of me. I let the twins have the pudding and I ate the sorbet.

Jungkook was comfortably watching Jihyun and Ji Ae eating their desserts and drinking the rest of his wine.

Just then, there was a flash from outside the window. I glanced out at the window, but could see nothing but darkness.

"You saw that too right?" I said to Jungkook, my eyes still searching the parking lot and bushes.

"Don't look." Jungkook ordered and I turned to face him. "Pretend that you didn't see." Jungkook raised his hand asking for a check then he stood from his seat. "I'll be back. Just stay here."

Jungkook walked towards the bar then once he was far enough from the window he made his way towards the exit.

"Where did Jungkook go?" Ji Ae looked at me and I wiped chocolate off her lips.

"What were you two talking about earlier?" Jihyun eyed me suspiciously.

"Nothing." I told them. "Just enjoy your desserts. Jungkook had to go handle some things."

Outside of the window, there was someone fleeing the parking lot and Jungkook was chasing after them, but it was too late. Jungkook slowed down and ran his fingers through his hair as a car drove away from the lot.

Jungkook pulls out his phone to start making a few calls then walks back inside.

"I couldn't get him." He said as he sat back in his seat. "I'll make more calls after this to try and stop the article from coming out."

"It's alright, you tried. We should have expected that a few reporters would find us if we were seen together."

Jungkook paid the bill and we left after finishing our desserts.

We stood in front of my car and I watched as the kids awkwardly stood in front of Jungkook.

"You should say thank you for dinner." I told them.

"Thank you." They said

"If you need anything then don't be scared to rely on me. I'll always make time for you." Jungkook patted their heads then the kids got into the car.

Then there were just two.

"You didn't have to pay for dinner."

"I was the one who apparently came uninvited." Jungkook rubs the back of his neck. "Plus I told Jihyun that I would pay. I'll handle everything so don't worry." He was referencing the paparazzi from earlier.

"Who said that I was ever worried?" I raised an eyebrow then opened the car door. "We can handle ourselves and don't you just say that we can always rely on you?"

"I guess I did." He laughs then his face and tone softens. "Good night."

"... You too." I nodded my head and got into my car.

The twins were in their own heads and I drove out of the parking lot. I looked back in the rearview mirror and Jungkook was still standing there.

Looks like tomorrow will be a busy day.

It wasn't a shock that everyone at work was giving me a look when I had arrived. The article about Jungkook having dinner with me and the kids was released this morning. The only problem was that from the angle the photo was taken, it looked like there was only Jungkook and I.

I ignored all the conversations and met with Taehyung in the practice room.

"Morning." I say cheerfully.

Taehyung finishes putting up a line of tape on the floor and gives me a questioning look. "You're happy. I thought that you would've been more worried because of the article."

I placed my bag by the side of the wall and took off the flats that I was wearing then replaced them with heels. "I've read enough articles about people criticizing my life when I've done nothing wrong. All you've got to do is just move past it."

"Alright, let's work on your form." Taehyung nods and points to the mirror wall. "Straighten out your back and keep your shoulders squared. I've noticed you have a problem with that."

"When you work a desk job for the past five years of your life, it's bound to cause a problem at some point." I chuckled then stood on the opposite wall, facing the mirror. "I wasn't exactly born for this."

I walked on the thin line of tape that Taehyung had set up with my back straight and shoulders squared. I kept my eyes focused on the front and turned around to walk once I reached the end of the tape.

"You're wrong." Taehyung eyes my form through the mirror. "I think that you were born for this, just like how the twins were born for modelling. You've just never considered the possibility of becoming a model so you let time ruin you."

"Are you saying that I'm old?" I scoffed but kept my face perfectly blank.

"It's a little creepy when you say that with a straight face." He notes and I rolled my eyes once I finished my walk. "But I meant that you just never had the time to practice or even had the thought of having the perfect posture."

"You're really aiming to stab knives into my back aren't you." I laughed and started my walk again.

Taehyung approached me from behind and grabbed my shoulders then tried to straighten them. "I told you to square your shoulders like this. If you slouch then you'll look less confident and-"

"If you're not confident in your walk then you won't sell it." I finished his sentence for him. "By now you should have realized that I am confident."

"I know you are." I could see Taehyung's smile through the mirror. He kept his hands on my shoulders for a little longer then let go. "Well? What are you waiting for? Walk."

"Bossy." I muttered.

For the next half hour, we worked on my walk and Taehyung showed me some postures that I could use to fit the clothes that I would be wearing for the show.

"Want to take a break?" He suggests. "Jungkook was scheduled to do an interview today, he said that he was also going to address the article. We can go check it out if you want."

"We're allowed to do that?" I removed my heels and put my flats back on.

"I'm the vice president, who'll stop me?" Taehyung smirks, then holds open the door as an invitation.

We walked to Jungkook's office where the interview was being conducted. Taehyung held a hand out telling me to stay outside and he stepped inside then closed the door just enough for me to see what was going on.

Jungkook sat on the couch in his office and the interviewer sat on a leather chair in front of him with a notepad in his lap. There was a recorder on the table and secretary Moon was standing next to Taehyung.

"It is currently the month for fashion week, however Silver's aren't participating this season. Can you tell me why?" The interviewer asks Jungkook.

"We believe in giving our consumers our best quality work." Jungkook smoothly answers her. "Currently our designers are working on a few projects, and each design needs a lot of attention in it's craft. We'll be sure to participate in the next season."

"And this doesn't have anything to do with the internal and external affairs surrounding Silvers recently?" The interviewer pushes.

Jungkook simply just smiles and crosses his legs. "There have been a lot of gossip and rumors surrounding myself and the company lately after the report of Sana, Y/N, and my children, but we at Silvers are handling the situation. We aim not to let the issue affect our progression."

"Just this morning there has been another article released about you and the model Y/N, the mother of your children. Can you please tell me more about that?"

I leaned against the wall listening to what Jungkook had to say.

"Since the article and photos have been released, I won't deny that we had dinner together." The interviewer smiles at Jungkook's answers, knowing that she was going to get a good scoop out of the interview. "However, the angle of the picture excluded our children who were also dining with us."

"The photo that was taken at Carmen's. It is more known as a romantic restaurant to take with your date or spouse." She probes. "Not many children as young as Jihyun and Ji Ae dine there with their families."

"What can I say?" Jungkook laughs and gives a casual shrug. "Carmen's has the best wagyu steak and my children are just like me. We love good meat and I only give them the best."

Jungkook secretly glances at me for a second and smiles. How did he know that I was here?

The interviewer bit her lip then stood up and shook Jungkook's hand. "Well thank you, Mr. Jeon for the interview. I hope to hear more about Silver's upcoming designs and I hope we can have a proper interview regarding your engagement and... paramour."

Paramour? I frowned. What does that mean?

Whatever it was, it wasn't well received by Jungkook or Taehyung.

Taehyung quickly turned around and opened the door, using his body to shield me from the people inside.

"Let's go." He whispers quietly, I could hear the tension in his voice. He places a hand on my back nudging me away.

I looked back into the office and I could see Jungkook clenched his teeth giving her a tight smile. "Thank you, but I rather not talk about my personal matters until they are fully resolved."

"What did she mean at the end?" I asked Taehyung when we reached the main corridor and we walked back towards the elevator to return to the practice room. "What the hell is a paramour?"

"I think it's better if you didn't know." He said then pushed the button on the elevator.

I turned to face Taehyung and crossed my arms over my chest. "Tell me what it means right now because I'll look it up either way when I get home and I'll be less mad at you."

Taehyung rubs his face and groans. "You're not going to make this easy for me are you Y/N?"

"Not unless you tell me what it means."

Taehyung's eyes shifted to the hallway that we just came from and I looked back. The interviewer was being shown out by secretary Moon. Taehyung pushes the elevator button to close the doors then he sighs.

"Paramour essentially means lover." He states and my eyes widened. "In her case, she referred to you as Jungkook's mistress."

"That's it?" I scrunch my nose. "So you both get mad just because she calls me Jungkook's mistress?"

"How are you not angry at her?" Taehyung was astonished by my calm attitude for the second time today.

"Everyone in the company used to call me that." I bitterly laughed. "It's been months since people have started calling me Jungkook's mistress, why would I be angry now?"

I wouldn't say that I wasn't offended by it. Jungkook and I weren't together the way we were before, and he just clarified to her that the two of us weren't on a date last night. When you're called these things, it's impossible not to feel a little irritated, but eventually that pain dulls overtime.

"I'm not Jungkook's lover anymore." I stated mainly to myself. "At least for now, I know where my heart is, but Jungkook still needs time to figure it out."

"How long are you willing to wait for him?" Taehyung leans against the elevator wall and his hands grip the railings.

"I'll give him until the end of the year or until his wedding. Whichever comes first." I faced the front of the elevator away from Taehyung. "If he still doesn't know where he wants to be, or have decided on saving his reputation then there is no point on chasing after him."

"And if you change your mind before any of those happen?"

"I'm a mother, Taehyung. I want to put my children before myself. I'm not doing this only for me." I clenched my arm. "If having a father is the best thing for the twins then I won't give up on Jungkook until he gives up on us. I don't want to deprive them of having a family just because of my selfishness."

"It's not selfish to find your own happiness." Taehyung argues, his voice a little louder than before. "I know for a fact, even Jimin, your mom, everyone knows that the twins put you first as well. They wouldn't be happy if you keep sacrificing yourself for them."

The elevator stopped on our floor and there was nothing but the sound of Taehyung's hard breaths and the elevator's ding.

"You want to give them a family, but does that family have to include Jungkook?" Taehyung's voice was not quiet and soft, almost defeated. "I'm sure you can find someone who will love the twins as much as you."

My heart clenched and I felt that same feeling that I have felt countless times when I have been alone with Taehyung recently.

"I'm not a fortune teller, otherwise I would've seen all the mess that came with Jungkook." I walked out of the elevator without looking at Taehyung. "Only time will tell what happens to us."

When I reached the end of the hallway and rounded the corner, Taehyung was still standing in the elevator, his hands tightly gripping the handles.
