"Oh, what a lovely surprise." I drawled, glaring at the vampire strolling from the shadows. Creepy and unoriginal. She had it all.

"I wish I could say the same." Rennie sneered, scowling as she looked me from head to toe.

"Seriously, what is your problem?" I asked, feeling Logan's stare on me.

"You! Thinking you can slither your way into Zander's bed and convincing him that you're his mate. He's delusional, you're nothing but a gold digging whore. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a cushion under your shirt, you just love his attention." She said nastily, walking closer with each sentence.

"Are you serious?" I scoffed. "I love Zander, and I respect his descicion to be your friend . But if you talk about my child like that again, I will fucking claw your ugly little eyes out."

"Your child?" She sneered. "Your bastard child."

My eyes narrowed on her as I tried to control my breathing. Be rational, be rational...

"I'm sure Zander hoped you would abort it, he has always told me how much he wanted to be an older father. The kid should just die already, everyone would be better off." She snorted, her face resembling a pig as she scrunched it up in disgust.

"I warned you!" I screamed, going to jump at her. Logan dashed out of his seat, gripping me tightly to stop me from reaching her.

"Let me go!" I yelled, thrashing wildly in his arms. "I'll kill her! You're dead, you stupid bitch!"

"What the hell is going on?" Zander growled, storming into the office and frowning at our prediciment.

"Zandy, she just went crazy! Nearly attacked me!" Rennie cried, clinging to his arm desperately.

Is she for real?

"Let me go." I stated calmly, taking a deep breath. Cautiously, Logan removed his arms from around me, making sure that I didn't run for her.

"She is lying." I stated simply, walking towards Zander and the obsessed girl cringing into his body. "And you can believe me or her, I don't give a fuck. Just know that the girl clinging to your arm has only minutes ago wished death on our child."

With that, I turned and exited the room, ignoring the commotion behind me.

I was sick of her. Weasling her way between us all the time. I hated her. Hate was such a strong emotion, that I didn't feel very often, and this vampire had used my unborn child in spite to make it so easy to direct at her.

How could she say such things?

She had wished death upon my baby. A baby that would recieve nothing but love and affection. How dare she?

Before, I had thought that maybe I had taken things out of proportion by threatening her openly the first time we had met, but how I disagreed right now. She had meant for her words to taunt me.

Anger boiled through my body, igniting me with a ferocious heat. Frantically, I tried taking deep breaths, the anger overwhelming my body. My head was pixelated, juggling any clear thoughts I had. The hallway spun, and a shout called out distantly.

Then, my bright world turned into nothingness.

~~~
"Will...she...baby...okay?" A mumbled voice broke through my unconsciousness, bounding around as an unwanted pain in my head arose.
"It seems fine, just a few bumps." A fairly familiar voice uttered, as something pricked my wrist.
"Shut up," I croaked, not daring to open my eyes from the peaceful darkness.
"Iris! Baby, can you hear me?" His voice pleaded, a warmth spreading through my hand as it was clutched tightly.
"What do you think?" I moaned, " You did wake me up."
"Open your eyes princess, please." He begged, rubbing my cheek gently.
"Five more minutes..." I whined, moving my head only to groan as a sharp pain cut through my temple. "What the hell happened to my head?" I questioned, slowly peeling my eyes open.
"You passed out." Zander replied, worry lines covering his face.
"I did? I thought that it would be better than this." I frowned, looking at the IV hooked into my arm.
A hoarse chuckle escaped his plump lips as his eyes roamed my body. "How do you feel?" He suddenly asked, his eyes snapping up to meet mine.
"From a one to ten... Probably a four and a bit." I pouted, curling my fingers through his.
The worried expression returned on his face as he sat on the edge of the hospital bed. "The medication should ease off the pain." He informed me quietly.
"It better do, my head is killing me." I groaned, resting my palm on my forehead.
Leaning down, Zander placed several kisses on my face; my cheek, my nose, my chin, and finally: my lips. "You'll feel good soon, I promise." He murmured.
"Is the baby okay?" I whispered onto his lips, hoping I hadn't hurt it from the fall.
"He's fine." He reassured, a smile tugging at his lips.
"He? It's a he? Zander!" I exclaimed, wincing slightly as my head pounded in protest.
"Don't shout, I don't want you hurting yourself even more." He growled thoughtfully. "The doctor had to give you a scan while you were asleep to make sure the pup was okay, and he could make out the gender. We wanted to know so he told me. We've got a little lad." He grinned, rubbing my bump affectionatly.
"My baby's growing so fast." I cooed, stroking my hand across the bump too. "What will we call him?"
At my question a smile lightened his features immediatly. "Well, a little girl named Katie sent this drawing to you this morning. Maybe it'll help you decide?" He asked rhetorically, a knowing smile settling itself onto his handsome face.
Quizically, I unfolded the piece of paper, immediatly adored by the cute drawing inside.
"This is so sweet!" I countered, running my fingers over the childish sketch of Zander, a small bundle and I. Our names were written under the colourful pictures in messy lettering: Alpha Zander; Queen Iris; and Damien.
Damien... It was beautiful.
"Who made it?" I questioned again, running the name through my head again and again.
"Katie, she's the little girl from the rogue pack... Rapunzel?" He recalled, looking at the drawing briefly.
"She made this?" I grinned.
"Yes." He confirmed, pulling my body against his gently. "So, Damien Reid, aye?"
"I love it, it's perfect!" I cheered, leaning against his side.
"Me too." Zander agreed, kissing the top of my head.
Snuggling into him, I paused, remembering something. "What happened to her?" I asked.
"Who?" He asked, confused.
"Mosquito." I deadpanned.
"Oh," He paused. "She's left... I don't need negative people like her in my life, when you're all that matters. If you're happy, then so am I." He concluded, trailing his fingers up and down my arm.
"You didn't have to... I know she's your friend and-" I started.
"A friend wouldn't say such things to the woman I love - or about my unborn son. Logan told me everything." He stated, leaving no room for argument.
Inside, I was selfishly screaming in joy. I was glad he made her leave. To be completely honest, her mere presence unsettled me. Something about her just seemed off. Plus, I'd rather she wasn't around me while I'm pregnant, who knows what she'd try to do.
Gratefully, I reached up to press a kiss to his lips. "Love." I whispered.
"Always." He confirmed, leaving me dizzy as he continued to ravish my lips with his.
Bye bitchy vampire; hello Zander and my precious little Damien.
