When I wake up in the morning, I'm still so tired. It takes everything in me not to go back to sleep.

"Emery," Aria knocks once before letting herself in. "Get up. No time for sleeping."

"No," I mumble, pulling the blanket over my head. "It's like five in the morning. Go away."

"Emery," Aria says with a smile in her voice, "it's eight-thirty."

"Same thing," I mutter.

"No, it's not," Aria says, pulling the blanket off of me and throwing it onto the ground. "We have school and you've already made us late."

"I don't like school," I whine.

"Well it's a good thing," Aria smiles, pulling me to my feet, "I didn't ask. Get ready. Now."

Aria turns and walks out of the room. I groan and make my way to my closet. I grab the first clothes I can find and throw them on.

I walk down the hallway and find Aria and Devyn in the kitchen.

"Finally," Devyn smirks.

"Let's go," Aria grabs her keys and walks outside.

"Someone's in a hurry," I murmur, following her out.

"One of us has to be," Aria laughs. "You're late to everything."

We get into her car, Aria in the driver seat, me in the passenger seat, and Devyn in the back.

"How come I have to sit in the back?" Devyn complains.

Aria and I ignore him, going back to our conversation.

"Yeah, and you're always fifteen minutes early," I raise my eyebrows. "I'd very much rather be late. At least that way, I have time to eat."

"You'd have time to eat if you woke up earlier," Aria teased.

"Yeah," I grunted. "I'd also have less time to sleep."

"You'll have plenty of time to sleep when you're dead," Aria laughs.

"I seriously doubt that," I snort.

"Okay, seriously?" Devyn groans. "Can you guys please have a conversation that I can listen to that's actually interesting?"

"Oh, poor Devyn," Aria teases, "what do you want to talk about?"

"No, don't ask that," I whine. "He's going to start talking about Leia."

Devyn smacks the back of my head.

"Oww," I mutter.

"Okay," Aria laughs, "Devyn, talk about something that isn't Leia."

"What about who Aria likes?" Devyn smirks.

"I've already told you," I roll my eyes, "that Aria doesn't like anyone."

Aria studies me out of the corner of her eye.

"What?" I look at her. "Are you saying you like someone?"

"No—no," Aria shakes her head. "I just don't know why you have to answer for me."

Okay, so she likes someone.

"What's his name?" Devyn demands.

"No, don't tell him," I snort. "He'll scare him away."

"He doesn't have a name," Ari snaps. "It's no one."

What?

"Okay," I murmur.

We sit in silence for the rest of the drive.

When we get to school, we've already missed first period and part of second. Devyn gets out of the car and hurries in the direction of his class. Aria hesitates for a second then turns and walks away.

She's acting weird.

As I make my way down the hallway, I think about what she said in the car. He doesn't have a name.

I slip into class silently, but multiple heads still turn to stare. One of those heads is a smirking Grayson.

Fuck. I forgot I had class with him today.

I slide into my seat and grab my book from my backpack, turning my attention on Mrs. Benson, even though I can still feel Grayson's eyes on my back.

When the bell finally rings, I get up and make my way to third period.

"Hey, Little Jenson," Grayson calls.

"Stop calling me that," I whirl on him.

"Why?" He cocks his head. "You're the youngest Jenson. And you're the shortest. It's perfect."

"Asshole," I turn and walk away.

"Wait," Grayson grumbles.

"What do you want?" I snap.

"I want a million bucks," Grayson smirks, "but that's not going to happen, is it?"

"Go find something else to do with your time," I mutter. "I don't want you bothering me."

I speed up and walk toward the empty classroom, hoping he'll go away.

"I wouldn't go in there," Grayson murmurs. "The door is most likely closed for a reason. High school kids are crazy."

"Perfect," I snort. "Don't."

I open the door and freeze when I see that it's already being used. Jack and Debbie.

I try to turn around and leave, but my feet refuse to move.

"Emery," Jack growls when he sees me. He pulls away from Debbie and comes rushing over to me.

"Did you miss me?" Jack snarls. "Is that why you decided to stay and watch? Even after what you had you're asshole brother do?"

I slap his cheek. Hard.

"I don't care if you're going to talk shit about me. You've been doing that for quite some time," I hiss at him. "But you don't ever get to say anything about Devyn."

Someone grabs my wrist and pulls me out of the room before I can slap him again.

"Remind me not to piss you off," Grayson mumbles.

"You do that on a daily basis," I mutter.

"Yeah," Grayson smiles.

"Did you know?" I whisper.

He shrugs, "He was with her when Devyn and I went to his house."

"When?" I look back up at him.

"Yesterday," he murmurs.

So that's where they went.

Grayson turns and walks down the hall to his classroom.

By the time lunch comes around, I'm so desperate to talk to my friends, I almost run right into Stella, one of the cheerleaders friends with Joslyn.

"Shit, sorry," I murmur.

"It's fine," Stella blushes, quickly moving and walking away.

Well, that's weird.

"Em," Aria comes around the hall and grabs my arm, pulling me toward the lunchroom.

"Hey," I smile.

"How was class?" She asks.

"Boring as shit," I mumble.

"You say that every day," Aria laughs.

"Yeah, well, every day it's boring as shit," I grumble.

Aria shakes her head as we make it to our table.

"Where's Leia?" I ask.

"Over there," Rebekah smirks, pointing to where Leia, Grayson, and Devyn are sitting.

"Of course," I smile.

"It's official," Aria makes a fake pout face, "we've lost our friend to our brother."

"No, we haven't," I laugh. "Let the kids have some fun."
