Christian smiles fondly to his sleeping nephew. He has his thumb in his mouth as Emma (his nanny) nestled him to her chest. His parents went out for an evening stroll. "Sleep tight, rhino," he whispered and kisses his forehead.

"I'm gonna take him upstairs to his parents' room." Emma smiled.

He nodded. His brother and his girlfriend left after dinner. And Kylie magically disappeared. He went out to the deck in search for Kylie. He knew what the couple are up to, it's the latter he's wondering about. His brows creased in confusion when he sees her shadow taking the dirt path to the lake. He stepped back inside and shrugs on his jacket. It's nipping cold outside.

Christian followed her down the narrowed path. It was a moonlit night and if he were to trip on a rock or branch, chances are slim to none. He treaded lightly when he saw her standing behind a tree by the lake. The hem of her dress swayed in the wind, her arms going around her. She changed into a yellow striped dress later in the evening, maybe tired of him making glances to her rainbow sweater. "Are you avoiding me this much?"

She squealed in surprise, hand going over her chest. "Quiet."

"I can tell you the same thing." He shoved his hands to his pockets and moved to her side. "What are you up to?"

She snorted, then almost sniffled. "I came here for the fresh air."

"More like cold air."

"It's still fresh."

"It's cold out here."

"Fresh."

He shakes his head, grinning down to her dimly lighted face. She stopped paying attention to him and stared straight ahead. He took off his jacket and wrapped it around her.

Kylie flinches, craning her neck to look up. "I don't need it."

"You do."

"I'm not cold." She tilted her chin up, and then ruined it with a little sneeze.

He leaned slightly to her, a smirk on his face. "You were saying?"

Kylie rolled her eyes and stared straight ahead. She slipped her arms to the sleeves that were inches too long. His jacket was almost the length of her dress. He suddenly had this thought that every single one of his clothes might look bigger on her.

Christian smiled, pleased with himself. "Kylie."

She shushes him.

"Kylie."

"Quiet."

"Why?"

"Because they might hear us." She jabbed a finger to the edge of the dock where two figures bathed in the moonlight.

"What are they doing?" He stared at Audrey and Vren admiring the lake.

"Close your mouth and maybe you'll know," she whispered in slight reprimand.

Christian nods. "Why are you spying on them?"

Her hand swipes irritably over her face. "What did I just say?"

"Whatever this is, it's not worth catching a cold."

"Just," she sighed in frustration, "just don't say anything. Even just for a little while."

He shrugs. Just then, his brother bended on one knee, a tiny box on his hand. "Oh. That."

Kylie takes a step closer, a delicate smile on her face. He could only see a side view but it was the softest it's been. She stared at the couple at the dock, her arms going around her either because of the cold or she just felt like it.

"Do you think she'll say yes?" He murmured, his voice low.

"Without a doubt."

Christian looks ahead and saw Audrey clasp a hand over her mouth, her head making a hurried up and down motion. It was a nod. A teary nod, judging how the gesture was jerky. His brother stood, Audrey crashing to his arms.

"She said yes." He nods, squinting his eyes at the couple.

"Of course, she will. Did you want her to say no?" She pivots her heels and begins to walk away, deliberately leaving him behind.

Christian had longer strides though. He had kept up to her effortlessly. "Why are you leaving? Romance was at its prime back there."

"You're this enthusiastic to see your brother make out with Audrey?" She slowed down when they reached the dirt path back to the cabin.

He watches in amusement as she seemingly assessed the ground before stepping a foot forward. She walks with a pace of someone clueless of the great outdoors. Clearly, she hasn't gone camping with her folks. "You should never stroll without a company. There could be a bear."

"What?" Her steps faltered.

"You heard me. You should never wander off alone." He stifle a grin.

"There are no bears around here." She snorted, putting on a brave face.

Christian shakes his head, biting his cheek to keep a straight face. "Not kidding. There are tons of wild animals out here."

"I don't believe you," she retorted in a bold tone – although she walked closer alongside him on the rest of the way back to the cabin.
