About half an hour passed in silence, a silence that was deemed comfortable however Angus could feel the tiny bit of apprehensiveness from Evelyn. She still looked up and admired him, sending him small smiles every now and then with the only sound of them finishing off his hunting weapons. Every now and then, Evelyn would drop a stone that would clatter loudly to the ground and echo in the silence and she'd mutter some words, her cheeks heating up that made Angus swoon on the inside. He didn't know what it was about her, but it was everything.

From her personality which he loved the most, so understanding and careful, loving towards him and helping him to make sure he was okay with new adaptions and even comfortable in his own skin made his stomach flutter and his body tightening with an unknown feeling. And her long, black wild curls that fell down her back drew him in with the softness that complemented the softness of her body, contrasting hugely against his rough one. When he held her tight it felt like he was in pure heaven.

Evelyn couldn't help but feel the same.

Angus tried hard, so damn hard to communicate and learn from her, to keep her safe and try to adapt so he could be civil with her. Although his anger showed through and he lasted out from not being able to handle interactions with other people as well as others his age, he understood his mistakes as the guilt practically ate him from the inside. And then his eyes, so captivating and intriguing, the brown eyes holding so much emotion and happiness in them however the survival mode was hard to miss lying just behind his happiness. His body was so tall and strong that whenever he hugged Evelyn she felt cocooned in him, safe from everything around and if there's one thing she ever wanted a man to make her feel, it was safe.

"I'm, sorry Evy." Angus finally murmured again, feeling extremely guilty that he had caused her harm.

"It's okay Gus." She gently said. "But if there's one thing you need to work on its controlling your emotions. I can help you get through, it if you want." She kindly offered him. Deep down Evelyn knew to be cautious but she couldn't pull herself away from him. If helping him work on this will make it easier and safer then she was more than willing to do it.

Instead of responding with words, Angus beamed a grin at her and grabbed her ankles, pulling her across the floor towards him. Evelyn shrieked in surprise and before she knew it she was sitting between his legs that were opened swparled on the ground, her heart beating from shock as he pulled her into a bone crushing hug. Evelyn ignored the small scratches from the sticks on the back of her legs from being dragged over the branches and melted into his embrace.

Angus felt the urge to lean forward and to some reason put his lips on hers. He wanted to give in, to follow the urge but he didn't know if it was acceptable. He fought hard to stop it and just pulled her in tighter to him, his grip tightening slightly. He mumbled complete nonsense to get himself to snap out of it and Evelyn listened, confused to the small sounds he was making.

Her arms tightened around his neck and she breathed in. She couldn't get over the fact that he was clean for a man in the wild. His skin wasn't caked in dirt and although his hair was tangled, it wasn't overly so. He smelt a tiny bit of BO, having no deodorant in the wild but at the same time he smelt clean and refreshing of the jungle, like the smell of fresh rain.

"Can we keep exploring?" Evelyn finally questioned after a minute. Angus nodded his head, the urge disappearing a tiny bit as he controlled himself. Already Angus knew where he wanted to take Evelyn and he stood up, pulling her to her feet after him. He grabbed the back pack reluctantly and draped it over his shoulder.

"You stay, tonight?" Angus questioned her.

"Not here," Evelyn replied. "Dad won't want me out again. But you can come back to camp and stay there with us. Since we'll be around others dad will let you stay in my tent." Evelyn sounded like a child to herself stating her dad wouldn't approve of something but she didn't mind. Although she would want to stay here again, her tent was much more comfortable.

Hesitantly, Angus nodded his head. If it meant he could spend time with Evy, then he was willing to do it.

By the time Evelyn and Angus arrived back at camp, the sun had sunk low in the sky as the black took over. Evelyn had watched the sunset as they walked back the camp, completely captivated by the bright reds, pinks and purples merging together in the sky.

Gus decided right then and there that tomorrow night he would take her to the cliff to watch it.

Upon arriving back, Evelyn gently grasped Angus hand lightly for conformation, and to stop her from panicking that he would run away again. A few of the men were littered around the clearing giving curious glances towards the two but Evelyn pulled him straight into her tent to get him away from prying eyes.

Everyone at the camp had been informed that they had found Angus and that if he was ever to appear at the camp to stay away unless called over and to not be hostile but friendly and welcoming. All men followed the command and smiled at him but never approached, much to Angus' relief.

Angus watched as Evelyn led him to a tall triangle he had admired last time he was here and his curiosity sparked as he finally about to know what would be in one. The flap pulled back and he entered the stuffy triangle taking everything in. It was a largish space with a metal rectangle in the back corner, a thing Evelyn had described as a mattress on top which is what she slept on.

Personally, Angus thought it looked ridiculous.

A brown trunk was near the entrance and a desk opposite the bed.

"This is my tent," Evelyn awkwardly said, still not wanting to let go of his hand. She looked up at him, watching as he took everything in. She led him over to the bed and sat on the edge, indicating for Angus to follow. Slowly he did and as he lowered himself on the mattress, he couldn't help but groan at the comfort. He lay down and closed his eyes, feeling his back crack then sink into the softness of bliss. Shrieking out a laugh, Evelyn fell down next to him as he pulled her down, loving the feeling of the softness of the mattress and the softness of Evelyn's body against his.

"Gus, what are you doing?" She laughed. It was more like an overexcited cackle that made Evelyn cringe at whatever the hell the sound was she made but she pushed it aside when Angus didn't seem fazed by it.

"Sopht," he murmured cutely, his eyes closed as his body sunk ever further into the mattress.

Evelyn felt like her heart was going to explode by how adorable this tough man was. A few minutes passed and while Evelyn tried to strike up a conversation, Angus couldn't focus enough on holding one. He was too absorbed in the feeling of bliss that with his eyes closed he wasn't paying attention to the meaning of the words she spoke, only the musical sound she produced.

"Ahh, Evie. I see you bought Gus back with you." Her dad snapped them out of their rest. Evelyn immediately sat upright in shock while Angus shot up too, positioning himself in front of his Evy from the unrecognizable voice. When his eyes locked on the small man Evelyn called her father, he instantly relaxed knowing the little man posed next to no threat.

"Shit, dad. Yeah, hi." She stuttered, not really wanting her dad to walk in on them lying on a bed together. She may be 23 years old, but this was her dad that caught them.

All he did was chuckle, in love with the infatuation they had for one another and called it right then and there Angus would return to their home just so he could always get to see Evelyn. He was contemplating a bet on marriage already at this point, even though they had hardly knew each other. Brad had never seen his daughter warm up to someone so quickly and was pleased. Her past relationships had just been the average ones, lasted anywhere from three months to a year ending by mutual agreement because they fell out of love. But this relationship, he knew it would grow beyond anything she ever had and he was excited for her.

Evelyn poked Gus in the hip and hissed "Say hello, its polite", wanting him to appear somewhat civil so her dad will stay fond of the giant.

"Hello," Gus murmured, rubbing his hip. It didn't hurt him, not at all. In fact it felt like a tiny poke by a stray branch. He went sure why he was rubbing it, maybe because he felt awkward?

"Hello, kids. Gus are you staying the night?" The jolly man questioned, his hand placed on his round belly. Gus nodded his head while Evelyn spoke.

"Can he stay in here with me dad? All the other tents are full and he won't share with anyone else." She held her breath.

"Of course," he smiled. "Dinners a bit cold but there's some pasta and cake in the food hut. Maybe Evie you should run out and grab some for you and Angus, while I stay here with him?"

Thankful that her dad had said yes, Evelyn nodded her head and shot up, telling Gus to stay put and she'll only be a minute then bolted from the tent, leaving Gus confused on the bed with the urge to chase after her.

"Angus." Brad said with a smile and took a seat on the chair belonging to the desk. "S you've been living out here, magnificent scenery." He started the small talk. Gus cocked and eyebrow at the man wondering what on earth he just said. This caused man to laugh.

"Beautiful place." He changed his words. Gus nodded his head finally understanding.

"Yes. Beautiful. Like Evy." He murmured the last part to himself but the man caught on.

"She is indeed a beautiful woman, grew up to fast if you ask me." He chuckled. "Always been a clumsy one, inherited that from me but she got her adventurous side from her mother. Bad combination but what can we do about it." He chuckled again. Gus just looked at him with a blank face, wondering what this man as talking about and how it affected him.

"But you're here, you'll take good care of Evelyn I presume?" It was a serious question, but Brad already knew the answer. He saw the protective glint in his eyes when mentioned he would take care of Evelyn and with the firm nod of his head, he didn't doubt it for a second. Angus didn't know what presume meant, but he gathered it wasn't a bad thing.

"Always."

"Good, good boy." Brad beamed knowing that Evelyn would be back soon. He stood and pet Angus on the back, he didn't get the tingles when Evelyn touched him but he wasn't repulsed by the touch. "I'll see you in the morning. I'd ask you to take me around but my old body wouldn't handle and hour out there." Like it was the funniest joke in the world, he laughed before walking towards the door of the tent.

"Uh, Brod?" Angus called out, making the man turn around.

"It's Brad, Angus." He smiled.

"Uh, yes. Brad." He cleared this throat wondering why he felt nervous all of the sudden.

"Evelyn stay here. With me?"

Brads smile faltered for a while and guilt built inside him. Gus didn't know of the outside world, he didn't know of responsibilities Evelyn had to return to and how out of the norm living on an island isolated would be. Angus has grown up with it, it was normal for him and not everyone else and he felt guilty for when he was about to reply, but then he realized something. Moving Angus back home would be different for him, and maybe he wasn't ready for that.

"Not here Gus," he spoke softly. "But when we go back to our home, it's up to you if you want to join us." He softly smiled then exited the tent, leaving Gus to his thoughts.

Not even a minute later, Evelyn came bounding back into the tent with a huge smile and a platter of food. She frowned when she saw Angus looking at her, a concerned look on his face. It looked like he was staring right through her.

"Hey Gus, what's wrong?" She asked, placing the food on the bed and crouching down in front of him, peering into his shadowed eyes. He didn't respond to her, only blinked slowly and Evelyn could tell he was thinking hard about something.

"Gus?" She repeated, her hand gently placed on his knee snapping him from his thoughts. "Are you okay?"

"Yes. Yes. Gus is okay." He lied.
