Angus felt overjoyed. At last, it was only him and his Evy in his world with no large people called Mike to interrupt them in the moment where he feels most content.

They were walking in silence, but Angus couldn't have been happier. Just like yesterday, Angus had let Evelyn walk in front of him allowing her to go wherever she wanted, to explore what she wanted and it was paying off as she had a constant grin on her face. She didn't know that he was directing her exploration in the direction of his home but he hoped that Evelyn wouldn't mind.

Every now and then, a clumsy episode would take over her body as she lost her footing or couldn't pull herself upwards in order to climb a small way up a tree. Not too far up though, Angus didn't want her falling and getting hurt. Any time she would stumble or trip, he would scold her with a 'careful', before feeling guilty about being harsh and mumbling a please on the end only for it to repeat again.

"Evy, please. Careful." His husky voice irritably said for the twentieth time. Angus held onto her small body as she fell slightly from standing on a small rock in front of him. The electric moss was slippery, the morning dew just starting to evaporate into the hot air, and with her energetic state that was eager to explore she kept on forgetting to be cautious. She trusted Angus to much.

"Sorry Gus." She sheepishly grinned, the rock making her an even height to his eyes as she stared into the pool of beautiful brown orbs. The joyful look on her face made his irritation fade away. "Oh, I almost forgot." Evelyn abruptly spoke suddenly, making Angus frown in confusion.

Evelyn raised her arms, reaching for the back pack Angus had offered to carry for her. He's not going to lie, the pack was very uncomfortable as he's used to not having anything like this with him but he didn't want Evelyn getting a sore back or it getting caught while she was going anywhere.

His heart danced and dipped as she reached around him, her hands unzipping the pack to retrieve some mysterious items to him, but everyday appliances to her. As she was still on the slippery rock, Angus had both of his large hands placed firmly on her waist to keep her secure. In her rush Evelyn didn't take too much note to this, however a small blush still rose on her cheeks.

Angus took the time now to really soak in the blissful touch. The curve of her waist was more evident than his and it was softer, much softer as she held more chub to her frame then he did. There was a top on her body with a pair of shorts exposing some of her skin, soft in comparison to his. His eyes darted up to the two mounds sitting on her chest, what his mom said were called boobs. They too looked soft to touch and he couldn't seem to peel his eyes away, especially as they bounced as she walked through the forest, completely oblivious to the fascination he had towards them. Her top was semi low cut, showing off the top of the pale flesh hiding from his view. He felt that thing in his body stir again but pushed it down, unknown to the feeling. His thumbs trailed up and down the covered skin as he grasped her waist and managed to tear his eyes away from her boobs.

He let out a small sigh.

"This normal? Feeling happy with Evy?" He voiced shyly. He didn't know if what he was feeling was normal and was desperate to find out. Did she enjoy his company too or did she only put up with him? What Angus didn't know was that his insecurities were showing though making his grip tighten on her, hating feeling so vulnerable.

"What?" Evelyn questioned, pulling back with her rectangle, branch and some fancy looking box in her hand. Her eyebrows were furrowed as she looked at him, the look of discomfort on his face.

"I, I. You make me happy." He managed to mumble out as he tried to string together a sentence. "It normal?" His heart was thumping as he looked down towards the ground but his hands didn't leave her waist. He desperately wanted her to stay.

"For some people yes." Evelyn smiled softly, using her finger to tilt Angus face back up to look at her. "Many people feel like that, they're called friends."

Angus smiled. He remembered something like that.

"Evy Gus' friend?" He asked, his head slightly cocked to the side.

"Of course." She grinned at him.

"So, normal?" He asked to reconfirm and she nodded her head.

"Some people make them feel even happier than a friend so their called a best friend." Evelyn expanded. "And some make them even happier than a best friend, so you call them a boyfriend or girlfriend."

"You make Gus happy, very." He said. "Evy my boyfriend?" He frowned when he watched her laugh.

"You'd have a girlfriend, most likely." She giggled.

That made sense, he thought them.

"So Evy my girlfriend?" He questioned. When she shook her head he frowned, feeling very hurt.

"No, a girlfriend is when you are more than a type of friend." She explained, trying to word it correctly so he would understand. He finally got it in the end after many failed attempts at Evelyn trying to explain it. He was disappointed though when he learnt the definition and Evelyn still said they weren't boyfriend girlfriend but he stayed quiet.

"Here." Evelyn said. During their conversation, they had moved to sit on the ground. Angus was fascinated by the thing she called a drink bottle, completely mind blown by the thought of how something could be created so sturdy to hold water. He snapped his focus from the drink bottle to the thing Evelyn had in her hand, the fancy box she had out from the bag before.

"This is a camera." She said. "You take pictures with it." Angus jumped in shock when a small screen lit up, a mirror image of whatever it was pointing at. His pink lips parted, a finger reaching out to touch it.

Evelyn giggled. He truly was like a child and she loved the innocence he held, yet the undeniable intelligence balanced it out so he didn't appear stupid and unaware.

"Watch this." She said. Evelyn pointed the camera towards the tree in front of them, focused then snapped a shot. Getting the preview up, she tilted the screen to face Angus.

"Watamalopld." He mumbled under his breath staring in front of him. He was sat sprawled on the ground with his legs parted leaning against the rock and somehow Evelyn had moved between his legs to show and explain this camera. He looked over her head at the small screen she pointed towards him and his mind could wrap around the fact that it was identical to the tree in front of them.

Evelyn giggled. "I can't understand your jungle talk, Gus." She poked him on his hip teasing him.

"May have I, go? Please?" His mind was so fascinated and curious he muddled up his words but he couldn't bring himself to care.

"May I have a go please." Evelyn corrected.

"Okay." Gus muttered still not caring about his English at the moment.

"Hey," she laughed, slapping away his hands as they grabbed for the camera. Since she was in front with his hands around her, he was practically hugging her. Evelyn had only just realized their position now and felt her insides tightening and a blush creeping to her face. Honestly, she just wanted to lean back and rest in his arms but she refrained herself, not wanting to startle him.

"May I have a, go please?" He repeated understanding what she was after.

"Of course you may Gus." She laughed and passed him the camera.

57 shots later, Angus was still fascinated. The camera roll now had blurry images of nature on them as Gus didn't understand the idea of focusing the image before snapping the shot.

"Can I try something?" Evelyn asked. He nodded his head and reluctantly gave her the device.

Even backed away from Gus and he frowned at the increase of the distance. She stopped a meter away and crouched focusing the camera pointing at him. Then she was moving back to her place between his sprawled out legs

Evelyn didn't know if Angus knew what he looked like personally and was slightly nervous to show him for some reason. As she pressed the taken picture to preview, she handed the camera to Gus and he took it, his pink lips parted and wide eyes focusing on the image in front of him.

"This Gus?" He questioned, very quiet.

"Yes." Evelyn answered equally as quiet, watching his reaction. He just stared at the photo, his face staying blank until he finally spoke.

"Blugh," he made a disgusted noise.

"What?" Evelyn asked. "You're beautiful, why are you making that sound?" She laughed but froze up at what she said. Her eyes snapped to his and he was already looking at her.

"You think I beautiful?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow. Evelyn was blushing like a tomato and nodded her head.

He responded in a shy mumble. "Gus think Evelyn beautiful, too."

An hour later and Evelyn had some focused pictures on Angus' behalf on the camera and some sketches and observations in her note pad. Also, there was a page filled of complete and utter scribbles from Angus as he tested out the pencil and how it created such evenly shaded lines.

They had packed up from their sitting position and Angus was now taking the lead and directing them back to his home. The surroundings seamed slightly familiar to Evelyn as they neared the bridge and when they stepped from the jungle to the small clearing, she looked on at the magical hut on a separated chunk of cliff that could only be described as something from a fairy tale.

Gus didn't even hesitate to scoop Evelyn off her feet and embrace her bridal style as he walked across the wobbly bridge. The initial action had Evelyn unprepared and she gasped, her arms flying around Angus' neck and pulling her body tightly to his. Even after they crossed the bridge Angus didn't place her on the ground. He loved the feeling of wading on her hand and foot, while Evelyn loved the butterflies from her body pressed protectively into his firm body.

A small screech had Evelyn tensing. The sound had come from in the hut and Evelyn's mind couldn't think of something it could be. Gus stopped in his tracks and gently placed her on the ground and slipped the uncomfortable back pack off his shoulders.

"Please stay." Gus gently said to her. He had a fair idea on what it was, the stupid creatures always finding a way into his home. Evelyn nodded her head and walked to the side where Gus directed her to stand.

She watched as his muscled tall frame bounded up his stairs and flew the door open. A loud crash was heard as well as a screech and Evelyn pushed herself further behind so she was pressed up into the tree as though the action would protect her. Her heart thumped for Angus safety but she knew she could do nothing to help.

Loud thuds were heard on the floor above her and she craned her neck to look above. What she saw, was three small monkeys making a raucous as they ran out of the door and climbed down the trees, across the bridge and disappearing into the jungle. Not even a moment later, Angus followed suit, looking around for where Evelyn was.

"Oh my goodness," a breathless laugh left her. "They were monkeys, real life monkeys!" She exclaimed. As stupid as it was, Evelyn had never seen a monkey in real life before. The quick speed and loud voices they had frightened her slightly but now knowing what it was, she felt as though she wanted to find them to photograph.

"Evy okay?" Gus questioned, walking up to her wondering why she was cowering back a small bit.

"That was awesome, Gus." Evelyn laughed. "Are you okay?" Gus nodded his head yes while his eyes darted up to his hut. After a few moments, they headed up the stairs in a comfortable silence.

When they entered the hut, Evelyn gasped. His shelf that had all of his weapons on it was face down, the sharpened rocks serving as blades and spears clattered on the floor. That's what the loud bang must have been, Evelyn thought.

Gus walked over to the cupboard and lifted it back up right and Evelyn walked over after him.

She was amazed at how many blades there was, most now broken or have the binding vines come undone. Angus didn't seem fazed by it at all. He picked them up, sorted them into a broken and non-broken pile and placed them on separate sides of the shelf.

After sorting, he sat back and watched Evelyn as she picked up an unscathed blade. She ran her hand over the handle of the large rock, noticing how uneven and uncomfortable the handle was to grasp.

"Here," Gus mumbled and grabbed a thick leaf he had restacked on the shelf. He wrapped it around the handle and gave it back to her. It was major improvement comfort wise of the handle, but Evelyn now knew why his hands were so rough and calloused. Nothing he owned or lived in was soft, everything was hard and painful in the act of his survival.

A flood of pity washed through her and Evelyn couldn't help herself as she placed the blade back on the shelf and wrapped her arms around his torso, pulling him into a hug, more so to benefit herself then Angus. Angus stood there stiffly for a moment before draping his arms over her shoulders and returning the hug.

"Nothing here is soft." She murmured and Angus has no clue what she was on about but he didn't care, he just enjoyed the comfort of the embrace.
