Angus had never experienced nerves before in his life. Sure, he'd been anxious about situation and scared in others, but he'd never had the stone in his stomach and a lump in his throat because of an upcoming situation. At first, he had no clue what was happening to him until his mind understood the fact he is meeting other people. The nerves have wiped out his initial excitement.

What if they didn't like him, what if he scared them like he did to Evelyn? What if he wasn't allowed to see Evelyn again, what if they all spoke this English fluently like his Evelyn and he couldn't understand them? Communication is a huge part of a pack and if he can't do that, he's sure to be the outcast and sent back to his home, without Evelyn.

"Angus, are you okay?" Evelyn's concerned voice snapped him from his thoughts. Immediately Angus eyes snapped to Evelyn's and she felt worried for him. He was always so careful, cautious and now he had zoned out within the space of a few minutes and even stumbled a few times.

She saw the worry on his face and she wondered if it was from meeting the camp.

He didn't speak, he only looked at her with his worry clear in his eyes only confirming Evelyn's thoughts.

She had stopped on a large tree stump that had fallen over that stood a foot tall in the air so for once she was eye level with Angus, maybe just under. Gently, she raised her hand and placed it in his hair how she did yesterday, the feeling he loved and his once tense posture relaxed upon her touch. She didn't say anything but she watched as his eyes closed and a small sigh was released.

"Angus, do you want to come to my camp?" She asked quietly. His eyes didn't open but after a moment of no response, he nodded his head.

"They're going to love you. Be fascinated by you." She said hoping to positively motivate him. Angus didn't understand anything that Evelyn just said and he didn't say anything to understand it.

"Near cliff," he spoke after a minute eventually when he peeled his eyes open. Evelyn nodded but bit her lip. She knew he was still nervous, scared even and she didn't blame him. She couldn't even imagine what it must be like living all alone and having this sprung on you. She was proud of him for even staying with her and Angus saw the pride in her eyes.

And that's all the motivation he needed to go to camp.

"Dad!" Evelyn called as she stepped into the clearing, Angus trailing behind her cautiously, his mind spinning from the sight in front of him.

In the clearing was massive triangles that looked like the material he used at night times. There was massive black boxes with seals on them and flags and brown things littered all over the ground and his heart beat raced from the unknown.

Never in his life had he seen these, or at least not from what he can remember and when he saw a small man appear from one of the many triangles, Angus panicked.

Evelyn however raced for her dad who looked close to tears. The small, balding man with a beer belly jogged to Evelyn who walked up to him, throwing her arms around his neck as his slid around her waist.

'Evie, my baby girl. Where the hell have you been? I've been so worried about you!" He gushed.

"Dad, I'm so sorry." She was embarrassed not only by her actions but the fact she was close to tears.

"Are you okay Evie?"

"Yes, yes dad I'm fine." She said pulling back and smiling. His face was a jolly red as he beamed at her, both of them standing at eye level together.

"Evelyn!" She heard the familiar voice of Tyler. The tall, lean man jogged up to her, his face too red and dull blue eyes lighting up enough to power the whole of her city.

"Where have you been?" He was so relieved to see that she was safe then to be angry at her for disappearing in the first place.

"I went walking and I got lost. I fell from a cliff and landed on a ledge where I met Angus, who saved me.' She gushed retelling the story. "He saved me then he talked and eventually walked and I ended up gone for too long so I had to stay at his little home. It's like a dream tree house miles away from us but it's so good. I don't know how long he's been stranded but it's incredible how modern like his resources are, well at least the thought behind them." She turned to look at Angus behind her and gesture him over, feeling rude she just left him standing there.

But when she turned, Angus wasn't there.

"Angus?" She called out, worry setting in her. She never should have left him by himself. Evelyn felt horrible, sick to her stomach.

She knew he was worried and nervous about this but she let him to see everyone else. She was selfish, after everything he'd done for her, save her life and everything she abandoned him and he ran away.

"Angus?" She called out again but he didn't show up.

"Evie, honey. Maybe you hit your head when you fell?" Her dad questioned but Evelyn shook her head no at him.

"No, dad. I'm telling the truth he's real. He saved me. Angus!" She called again staring to feel frantic.

Angus watched them lead her back to the camp. His heart was hurting as she looked sad and scared, worried for him as he sat on his tree perch watching. His heart strings pulled listening to her calling for him but he didn't go because he was too scared about these people, wondering how on earth they got here and why they decided to show up now of all times when he was secure and safe and not when he was all alone trying to cope with living here. He felt overwhelmed as soon as people started rushing out of the brown triangles and fled before someone had the chance to see him. For now, this change was too big and to foreign for him so like a coward he fled, watching with an aching chest Evelyn being pulled off and disappearing inside a big brown triangle.

What hurt him most though, was when another man whose face looked similar age to his Evelyn came rushing out and pulled her into his embrace. He watched with sorrow filled eyes as he and her father comforted her from the franticness he caused her to feel.

"Dad, I promise he's real." Evelyn said with a hard voice eyeing her father. "How the hell could I survive out there alone in a night unscathed?"

Her father knew that Evelyn was smart, but not stupid enough to try and live alone in an unknown jungle by herself. He was extremely concerned for his daughter's mental health. He wished he could believe her, he really did but once they were inside the tent his men went searching and saw no trace of another human being around their sight.

"Tyler, you believe me don't you?" Her voice was pleading and she sounded close to tears at everyone not taking her word and thinking her to be insane after falling and suffering a concussion.

"Sure I do Evie," the friendly man smiled at her but she could see in his eyes he was just as skeptical as her father. It was only a few hours into the days light but Evelyn was appointed tent rest until the Medic, Dan, conducted a physical examination of her to make sure she pulled up okay and hadn't suffered any traumatic experiences from being in the jungle, supposedly alone.

"Just hurry up and get Dan so I can go back out there and look for him." Evelyn grunted. Her dad raised his eyebrows in an are-you-joking manner and Evelyn sighed.

"Fine, so I can go study the habitats." Her dad nodded his head briefly and Tyler left the tent to fetch him, leaving her and her dad in silence. Not long later Dan entered the tent with Tyler nowhere in sight.

"Evelyn, how are you feeling?" The man too was young and a fit medic chosen specifically by her dad to ensure he was fit enough to endure and survival tasks that could spring up unexpectedly on them. Dan was short for a guy standing at around 5'4" with a nose that made his face look oddly shaped and circular on one side. His hair was black and wavy, falling to just below his ears framing his face ad hiding his uneven jaw.

"Great, actually." She said impatiently.

"Okay, so are there any areas on your body that are sore from the fall?" He questioned.

Reluctantly, Evelyn sighed and nodded her head explaining how her right wrist felt sore from the fall and her back sore from sleeping sitting up partially last night. She internally rolled her head because Angus could pick up on her injury without asking her what was wrong.

An hour later, Dan, who was also trained as a chiropractor as well as medicine has fixed Evelyn and was concluding his diagnosis. As soon as he said she was able to leave the tent, Evelyn raced out of the tent and to hers, grabbing a back pack filling it with a large water bottle, some nut bars for later and a satellite phone.

She was too focused on gathering all the necessities that she hadn't noticed Tyler standing at the tent door, watching in on her rush around. He was amused by her clumsy episodes as she stubbed her toe at one point as he admired her taking charge but also was concerned. Although Dan gave her the all clear, her story made no sense. How would this boy be able to survive out here all alone? If he was alive, he would be wild, just like the predators and he shuddered thinking about what Evelyn could have endured with her time with this Angus.

"Evie, what are you doing?" he questioned although he already knew the answer, he just wanted to make his presence know so she didn't think of him spying on her. His sudden voice made her jump, her eyes lit up and hopeful as she turned around, only for them to dull when it was Tyler, and not her wild friend.

Well fuck, that's a blow, Tyler thought.

"Oh Tyler, perfect." She spoke, glancing at him before sitting down to lace up her boots. "Get your shoes on and pack some water, I need to find Angus." She stated. Her fingers worked quickly in tying up her laces and she groaned as the bow didn't tie up.

"Hey Evie, hey slow down." He chuckled using his long legs to quickly approach her. His large hands placed on hers, stilling her attempts at tying the laces and her pale green eyes snapped ho his. "Here," he softly said, bending down to tie the lace for her. He heard a sign and glanced up before focusing back on the lace.

"What are you planning on doing?" He asked softly.

"Finding Angus." She replied shortly.

"And what happens when we find him?" He asked, humoring her.

"I'll talk to him." She said with a shrug of her shoulders.

"And if we can't find him?" he finished tying the lace and stood up, pulling Evelyn to her feet to. She could see the kindness in his blue eyes but also hesitation and disbelief. He was just a kind person and didn't want her to feel hurt. His beady eyes looked down on her, his tall frame towering over her and although she knew of her nice intentions, she couldn't help but scowl at him.

"Then I'll look again tomorrow." She didn't feel guilty for snapping at him.

"What if he doesn't want to talk?" He asked. "Can he even talk? If he's been out here for a while how could you converse?"

"He knows some English" she said, fed up from wasting time.

"How?"

"I don't know!" She snapped. Her chest rose and fell quite quickly as she breathed hard. "I'm leaving in two minutes, with or without anyone else." She spoke quietly before rushing out of the tent to fill up the water bottle.

"Are you really going to search for this Angus?" Her dad asked quietly as she filled the bottle.

"I'm going for research. I'll keep my eye out for him." She replied, trying to keep it cool.

"Are you really?" Without replying, Evelyn dug her hand into the bag and pulled out a journal and pencil holding it out as though to say See? Yes, I am.

"I want someone going with you." Her dad spoke knowing it was best for Evelyn to go out. Already samples of flora had been collected and Brad, Tyler and Mark had plenty to get started on with so much to do in such little time.

"Tyler is."

"He needs to stay here. We have samples already."

"Then I'll take Mike."

"Okay."

Evelyn hadn't expected her dad to give in so easily. She tightened the cap on the bottle and placed it in the bag, walking over to give Brad a hug. "Thanks dad," she whispered.

"Be back before dark. And Evelyn, I swear if that journal comes back empty..." He trailed off not knowing what threat to make, erupting a laugh from Evelyn.

"Love you dad." She laughed and ran off to find Mike, just so she can go find Angus.
