It wasn't the sun breaking through the slits of the wall that awoke Evelyn, nor was it the sounds of animals rustling or water lapping at the base of the cliff what woke her. It was the long forgotten feeling of a strong arm pulling her into a firm body and the small puffs of warm air landing on her forehead that pulled her from her light slumber.

She couldn't help the anxiety building in her, once again faced with a strange situation. Never had Evelyn woken in a bed next to a stranger, she had only woken with past lovers and if she was ever wild enough to go out for a one night stand, she made sure to never stay the night to avoid situations like this.

Even knowing that nothing sexual had gone down between the two last night, she still felt awkward. Perhaps from the intimate position and hold they held on each other was what nerved her and that fact this man is a perfect stranger, a fact Evelyn naively, continuously forgets.

Her groggy eyes peeled open, the dark room making her eyes feel at ease and she glanced around. The twitch also arose Angus from his slumber and Evelyn was met with the captivating dark brown eyes boring into hers. A small smile graced Angus' lips as he looked up on her, the girl with black wild hair, and the curls sticking up on all ends.

"Good morning," Evelyn spoke shyly, lowering herself back down and hiding her face in the material draped with the majority over her body from Angus' command. As she hid her face, it slightly pressed against Angus' hard torso and he tightened his grip on her holding her in place against his body, where she belongs in the proximity of his protection.

'Ghnmornhng.' Angus spoke, his raspy morning voice mixed with his lack of knowledge and pronunciation making his greeting a string of in cohort letters. Evelyn couldn't help the small giggle from leaving her lips at the sound and Angus found one of his new favorite sounds as she laughed.

"You tried,' she teased, poking his hip with her spare finger. Angus let out a content sigh and pressed his face into the crook of her neck. During the night he had tangled their legs together and after repositioning himself, his whole figure was practically crushing the small girl beneath him.

"Angus, you're crushing me." Evelyn said, laughing as she poked the half sleeping man's hip again. Angus has always been one to rise bright and early, as soon as his eyes usually open after his sleep he would be up for the entire day not being able to fall back asleep but it was different now. He craved sleep, he craved the comfort of sleeping beside the girl he was in charge of protecting and keeping safe.

Angus was too busy loving the feeling to pay much attention to her, but he shifted his weight pressing himself harder against Evelyn.

"Angus," Evelyn laughed now rapidly poking his hip.

'Shhh,' he hushed her but grunted at a particularly hard jab.

"You're crushing me." Evelyn repeated, smiling from beneath him as his eyes peeled open. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he didn't recognize the work 'crushing'.

"This hurts." As soon as the word left her mouth, he flew off her small body, watching her take in a deep breath that he'd deprived her of. Guilt flooded him as he now hovered above her, his strong arms making him hover above her body, his eyes now wide awake and boring into hers. He was glad she was still smiling and not truly hurt from his actions and he mentally scolded himself to be more careful with her. His life he's grown up with the sense of danger and roughness and he continuously forgot how fragile and smaller Evelyn was than him.

A small grumble from her stomach had Angus falling from his thoughts as he peered down on Evelyn, still not having moved his body from hovering over hers.

"Food?" He questioned, noticing the pink colour on her cheeks again. It was a reoccurring colour on her, he found and wondered why. Although they were out in the sun, he put some oil he made, which his parents had taught him, to apply to save her from sunburn, however it mustn't have been as effective as he previously thought.

Shyly, Evelyn nodded her head yes and Angus reluctantly pushed himself up and off her. His body was already missing the comfort and warmth but he pushed it to the back of his mind, already noticing the way her body relaxed without him above her. He frowned.

With his back turned to her, he walked towards his pulley to collect some water. He only had one drinking holder and naturally he pulled the water up and filled the holder, walking back to Evelyn to hand her the water.

"You stay here." He commanded, looking into her eyes so she would understand the message of staying put. Although the sun had started rising, it was still dawn and from experience Angus knew this was a prime time for predators, those even he himself was afraid of, would be hunting to ambush sleeping prey. Angus had the skills to avoid them if they roamed near his home, however he knew Evelyn did not from her clumsy actions displayed yesterday.

He didn't want her out at risk and he would be to distract looking after her welfare that he wouldn't watch for his own.

"Where are you going?" She asked, her lip slightly pouted as she looked at him afraid of him leaving. The jungle is his domain, and being left by herself, no matter how secure the home, put her on edge by just the thought of it.

"I find food, then go to cant." He instructed.

'Cant?' Evelyn asked confused from his mix up on words.

'Yes, cant. Change mind and stay?' He asked, thinking she had in fact enjoyed his presence and decided to stay with him.

"Camp," she muttered under her breath realizing his mistake and she slowly shook her head no. "I must got to camp and see my dad, he will be worried sick."

Her face paled at the thought of her dad and worrying about her, the uneasiness causing a stone in her stomach. Angus observed her paling and instantly walked forwards, his arms holding hers to keep her upright in case she fell.

"I'm okay,'" she smiled, however it wasn't as reassuring as she would have hoped it to be. With a quiet assessment, Angus let go.

"I back soon." He informed. When she nodded, he turned his back to go collect her food while Evelyn watched with unease as the strange man who completely captivated her left her alone in the jungle for god knows how long.

Not even 20 minutes later, Angus was back with bananas and berries. He had multiple opportunities to capture a mice for her, however he thought against it as yesterday she seemed unnerved by the one that decided to make an appearance. Evelyn was beaming by the time he got back too, relieved she wasn't left alone for too long. In the time Angus was gone, she stood looking out from the door at the beauty of nature, anticipating his return.

Angus had never felt happier to see his home then when Evelyn was standing at the door looking out at his domain.

It made him happier she listened to him and she stayed in the home.

It didn't take long for them both to eat their food and before they knew it Evelyn was getting a piggy back across the bridge before her feet gently padded softly onto the ground as Angus gently lowered her.

The adventure back was just as great as the one to the hut. The same route was taken but it was a whole new one. Angus knew exactly where they were, but Evelyn was just straying in front of him, looking back in question to see if she was going to correct way.

She was still clad in yesterday's clothes, her hiking shorts that are a cargo green that ended mid-thigh and her black singlet top was baggy on her body, her big hiking boots aiding her adventure. Unfortunately, she had no hair tie and was forced to leave her hair out, the mess of black curls falling midway down her back acting as a heater around her neck. It was only early in the morning but the temperature was already hot as she wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead.

She wished she had a drink bottle.

The pace was a bit quicker today as she was eager to get back to her father but it didn't stop her from enjoying the nature she was lucky enough to be in.

Evelyn glanced back behind her to see Angus about a meter behind her, walking the track with ease. His focus was solely on her, however it wavered every now and then to make sure no animal was strolling past them and to ensure they were on the correct path. He smiled at her reassuringly, making her heart melt slightly.

He really is one gorgeous man, she thought to herself.

She stopped walking to take a break, her calf's burning from the walk and Angus stopped semi close to her. She stayed looking at him, her eyes wondering his face.

The dark brown waves, that somehow managed to not turn into dread locks however still appeared extremely knotty, fell past his shoulders and midway down his back, a beard on his face that was only somehow short. His dark brown eyes were smoldering and she wasn't even sure if she knew how breathe while she looked at this attractive man. His torso was on display, only wearing the brown shorts again showing his muscled physique.

What was so delicate about it, was that his torso wasn't a six pack and ripped like lots of men back home, however it was hard, toned and defined abs were there that aren't sticking in her face. His legs are thick and muscles too, the power built into them from all his time living in the jungle, his arms equally as large and strong. His shoulders are broad, however Evelyn noticed that his collar bone was sticking up from the top of his shoulder in an unnatural angle but he never showed any signs of pain so she let it be.

She was too engrossed in the man in front of her, that she hadn't released she had stopped on a rock covered in vibrant green moss, the substance slippery until it was too late. Her foot slid backwards as her body fell to the side, Angus stepping into action with quick reflexes as he grabbed her around the waist, gently lifting her body up and off the rock, placing her softly on the ground.

'Uh, whoops. Thanks Angus,' she muttered, her face turning red again from embarrassment.

Evelyn wanted a hole to come and swallow her up from embarrassment. Twice in twelve hours she was a major klutz that needed rescuing and a few minor times on the hike yesterday.

Angus just smiled and tapped her hip, just like Evelyn had done to him this morning, and nodded with his head for her to keep walking. As much as he wanted her to stay, he wanted her to see her dad too.

'You know Angus,' Evelyn said from beside him glancing at him quickly then back to her feet to watch where she was stepping.

'Dad and the guys at camp would want to meet you.' She said causally. Angus stayed silent but his steps didn't falter as he thought it over. It was all just a massive shock to him.

He believed himself to be the only one of his kind until Evelyn showed up, and now there was more of them wanting to meet him. Judging from what he had heard too, was that there was more outside of his home, this island he was trapped on and that thought scared him. There was a world outside of his own he didn't even know existed.

'Okay.'
