Okay, so I've gotten a few questions about the ages of the characters and thought I'd clear it up.

Angus is currently 26. He was shipwrecked at birth, and lived with his parents on the island until he was 13. After their death, he lived alone by himself for another 13 years before Evelyn comes along :)

I throw a few numbers out there, so it can get confusing but Angus is 26, and Evelyn is 23.
Angus is not 16, he is a full grown man with facial hair (even though I forgot to describe that on him), real muscles (not that tiny thin arms and legs but strong muscular body).
He also remembers some English as that's what his parents spoke, but he is VERY rusty. Once he starts leaning it, it all comes back to him :)

Other than that, enjoy :)

Pre warning guys, I don't understand science. Lots of things I will make up wheather it be from Angus' life style as coconut oil as sunscreen or lab reports in the future from the expiditon will not be correct unless I'm an amazing guess. Although I love the story, I don't think I want to go and google everything haha.

"Need to, ahh," Gus stuttered, his eyebrows dropping and his pink lip being pulled between his teeth as he thought really hard in concentration. He was looking down at Evelyn, but his enticing brown eyes glassed over as Evelyn watched in awe as the man before her concentrated hard so she could understand him. A loose chunk of slightly knotted hair fell in front of his face obscuring a slight bit of his view and Evelyn laughed to herself.

She reached up, her fingers taking in the straw like hair as she stood on her tip toes to tuck it behind his ear. His eyes snapped out of it as he watched her, completely infatuated like always.

"You need to?" Evelyn questioned, feeling slightly guilty that she broke his train of thought. He obviously tied hard to communicate and struggled as he hadn't used the language in a very long time.

"Oh, um. Fix, I need to fix Gus' blades." He said. His voice right now was husky, the words rolling off his tongue sending shivers down Evelyn's spine as she peered up at him. A small smile played on his lips as he almost correctly said a whole sentence properly.

"I can help, if you want me to that is." Evelyn said, mumbling slightly. She felt weird.

Around other people, Evelyn was a shy person who took a while to warm up to others but with Gus she felt confident from his innocence to human society and views. She knew he wouldn't judge her, she knew that no matter what she did Gus would agree with or accept and maybe that's why she felt so happy, comfortable and care free around him, bold even.

"Okay." Gus smiled down on her, happy she was wanting to partake in his lifestyle. "We need things." He mumbled, grabbing her hand and pulling her gently to the door. Evelyn followed, confident in his knowing on where or what they were doing. They didn't leave his small island his hut was on, instead he got her to wait away from the edge as he collected some sturdy yet thin vines draping off the side and down the cliff face. Over the months he had already collected materials to construct and sharpen blades in case of incident like this happen or if it was a faulty weapon that won't do him much good in the wild.

It didn't take long, and then he led her back inside so she wouldn't turn red from the boiling hot sun.

"Evy, you just do this." He mumbled, not confident to explain with words. Bit by bit, Angus slowly demonstrated how to sharpen and use the vines to secure the blade to the handles with Evelyn intently paying attention. It didn't take her long to catch on, however due to the lack of experience she took much longer then Angus to make one, and hers wasn't as sturdy. However the grin on her face showing how proud she was made Angus happy and he didn't want to tell her it would break, so he returned the smile and put it in its own separate pile to remind him not to use that weapon.

Evelyn didn't catch on.

"So instead of saying their name all the time, you substitute." Evelyn tried to explain. "When you're talking about yourself, you can I'm, I, me or my."

Angus nodded his head. "I'm happy."

"Exactly." Evelyn grinned at him. It didn't take much to figure out the Angus is a very smart person. From his living style, ideas and structures to how he can slightly understand emotions of others and pick back up English, even though he was still having some difficulties, at a fast pace proved that point.

"And if you're talking to someone, you say you. Like how are you?"

Angus nodded his head.

"I try to remember." His husky voice spoke. Evelyn didn't bother correcting him in fear of him loosing hope. He was already applying his knowledge and she was more than happy with that. "Mom used to, teach Angus, me." He corrected himself.

"I used to be, very good." Evelyn glanced up from her weaving of the vine and nodded at him.

"Gus, what happened to your parents? Like where are they?" She got no reply and instantly she felt horrible. "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked. I was only curious and it was ride of me to snoop like this, I have a habit of sticking my nose where it doesn't bling." The more the rambled, the more she blushed and felt flustered, and the more Angus felt amused from her cute state. He stopped what he was doing and looked over at her.

His hands fell to his lap, one hand loosely clutching the half-finished dagger with his long legs folded beneath him and out of the way. His lips were pulled up into a lazy, lopsided smile as he gazed down on her.

"Fuck," Evelyn cursed. In her flustered state she threaded her vine wrong, causing several knots and stuffing up her job. She jumped when she felt Angus place his large hand on hers, the rough skin gently holding her shaking hand. The action comforted her slightly as she felt guilty for asking him.

"A marozi," he spoke, his low voice quiet as he remembered the day. He felt saddened by the memory, however telling Evelyn felt like the right thing to do and he wasn't scared of telling her. She made him feel comfortable in sharing anything.

He couldn't help as his throat closed up slightly from emotion but he grabbed Evelyn's knotted vine to fix for her and to distract himself as he told his not so fond memory.

"A big, ah, a big animal. Fast, strong, quick, very good hunting." He stared, unsure on how to describe the animal he hated most in his jungle. "Angry, lots of time. One crossed bridge one morning. I was in ocean cleaning Gus, uh me. I heard screams, sounded like when me first found Evy, that I knew as mom, shouts from my dad. I ran as fast as I can, woman in the sky I couldn't run any faster than I was until I got home. When I got home, Gus saw their bodies, still and not moving. Lots of blood," he muttered as he recounted. "Lots and lots of blood."

Evelyn felt her heart clenching as she listened, and couldn't imagine what Angus had felt in that moment. She knew it was when he turned survival mode, when he lost touch with the English and focused on the need to survive and survive only. It was the time that he lost true meaning to life.

"On the ground with two marozi eating them, for food." He continued. "They saw Gus and got ready to attack. I was little, I ran but I fell on the bridge. I fell into water to escape, the marozi both fell following me and their drowned. Dad taught me how to swim, the water was huge. I would have drowned if weren't for him survival skills."

Angus didn't shed a tear but his eyes glassed over recounting his parent's early departure.

"I ah, cried, for lots days. I dug a whole and put them together, just Gus alone since Evy showed up."

Evelyn wanted to cry. She wanted to bawl and scream and take all the underlying painful memories away from Angus so he didn't have to suffer them. It was the most gruesome way to lose his family, the only people he had left.

"Gus, I'm so sorry." She whispered, her eyes glossy as she watched him fiddle with the knotted vines undoing her mistakes.

'Not Evy's fault?" He asked, confused on why she was apologizing to him for something that was clearly not her fault. "Don't be sad Evy." He muttered. He saw the tears in her eyes and hated himself for sharing his story. He hated being the reason why she was so upset and if he'd stayed quiet, she would still be happy.

"It okay." He reassured her. Angus wasn't too saddened. Yes, he's devastated his parents aren't around anymore but over the 13 years he's been alone, he found a way to deal with it. Yes it still hurt to bring up memories however when he looked back on his parents he only had good memories, ones filled of love, laughter, survival lessons, happiness and joy. He wouldn't have changed anything, the death made him the man he is today and he may not have even met his Evy if anything had changed. Gus wanted to tell her this, he wanted to show Evelyn his feeling and make her not as upset but he didn't know how. He couldn't, the words he wanted weren't the ones she would know, ones she wouldn't understand and he knew that.

But watching her sit there, their knees almost touching with tears in her eyes and a sad look on her face made Angus frustrated he could explain what he felt. He wanted her happy, not sad especially if it was because of something he said.

"I is good, Gus is ahhhhh," he groaned, a hand running over his face and rising to tug on his hair as he cried out in frustration. He stood to his feet abruptly, his large frame immediately towering over Evelyn as she sat wide eyed and confused staring up at him wondering if he was okay.

"Gus," she said gently, slowly raising to her feet cautious as he stormed to the other side of the room. His fist shot out as he hit the wall, the sturdy walls staying upright until he moved to his make shift bed. He picked up the blanket, throwing with all his might as it went out the door and kicked the bed, the leaves and grass making the mattress scattering everywhere.

Evelyn was shocked, scared even as she noticed the white knuckles holding the unmade dagger in his hand scared as if he would accidently do anything dangerous with it.

"Angus," she repeated again, watching him as his back was facing her. The strong muscles rose and fell with his heavy breaths, his brown curls falling down his back. He looked frightening, powerful as the tense muscles looked ready to explode at any given moment, the tanned skin covering the power beneath.

"Hey, it's okay. What's wrong?" She wanted to sound confident but she felt so small and so helpless that her voice appeared timid. Gingerly, she took a small step forwards. And another, and another until she was right behind him.

"Are you okay Gus?" Evelyn asked again. Her hand was shaky as she lifted her hand. As soon as she made contact with his upper arm, everything happened in a blur.

Angus snapped, his powerful body swirling around and grabbing tightly onto Evelyn's arms and he swung her body so her back hit the wall of the hut with a loud thud. A breath was rammed out of Evelyn as a tear rolled down her cheek. The sharpened weapon in his hand was pressed unknowingly into her arm right where he held onto her tightly and she couldn't help but let out a fearful, singular sob.

His strong body was pressed into hers showing his dominance and power over her smaller, weaker one. Evelyn was tall for a girl, standing at 5'6 and held more than average muscle to her. Usually she was strong, her thighs and arms thick with muscle on the bone thanks to her genetics but now, she felt weak and helpless.

"Evy sadupsetadgus, okay butidntknowtasah," he mumbled his frustration and emotion getting in the way making him make zero sense as he tried to explain.

"Gus," Evelyn tried to get him to let go but as she wiggled and squirmed he held tighter, the rock digging further into her skin.

"Okay me, yahworybut no." he kept saying.

"Ouch, Angus my arm!" Evelyn finally exploded, tears of pain and fright slipping down her cheeks. Immediately, Angus let go, the blade, now with small speckles of Evelyn's blood tainting the dull grey of the weapon falling to the ground with a clutter.

Angus fell to his knees, his feeling distraught and even he held back a tear at the mere thought of the pain he just caused her.

"No," he muttered. "No, no, no." He repeated over and over again. His forehead leaned forwards, resting on her soft stomach as he mumbled the word over and over again, and guilt flooding though him like a tsunami.

Evelyn stood frozen in shock. Everything happened so quickly and her arm hurt. Her eyes stayed pressed tightly closed as silent tears ran down her cheeks, her chest heaving as she took jaggered breaths in and out.

"I sorry. So sorry, very sorry." Angus mumbled over and over again. As his arms wound around her waist, pulling her into him in a hug as he clung onto her praying to the women in the sky for forgiveness. Still Evelyn made no movement as she tried to take everything in, her mind and body in shock.

Gus peered up at her, his eyes wide and full of worry. He was showing her no threat, crouched down and hunching his shoulders to make him appear smaller and less threatening. His hand traveled on her body, up and down her sides, around her legs and even to his arms in soft, gentle, loving movement to try and coax a reaction out of her. Even if it was anger, Angus just wanted a sign from her and he was becoming desperate.

"Evy, "He begged watching her. "Evy please. I sorry." His large hands dragged down her sides and landed on the top of her thigh as he massaged them, working the muscle into relaxation. A shiver ran down her body and Angus was happen he got a reaction of some type, but he didn't understand what it meant.

He kept massaging the flesh with one hand as the other grabbed her hand, guiding it to his hair. He knew she liked playing with it and it could coax a reaction from her. Eventually, her fingers tightened in her hair, a sigh of relief falling from Angus.

"I sorry,' he mumbled again.

"I know," finally, her melodic voice graced his ears. He slowly rose to his feet, watching as her body dint recoil from his. Evelyn knew he meant her no harm but she was so infatuated with him she kept forgetting the life style adjustments and foreign things he was going though and how hard it must be. She blamed herself really.

He pulled her tightly into his arms as he clung to her smaller body.

"I'm sorry." He said again, this time right next to her ear. When Evelyn fisted his hair, he took it as a forgiven sign. He decided he owed her an explanation, not matter how small or confusing it may be.

"I can't, say. Explain but I'm okay, with it." He mumbled, his face buried in her neck as her black curls fell down and shielded him in. His body stirred with the unknown feeling as her small body pressed into his but he pushed it away.

All he needed to do was make sure his Evy was okay.

Okay guys, I usually read Author's notes like this one now stating their ranking in their category and think, okay, well congrats I guess... but when it's you, it's so much more exciting.

We're number 117 in general fiction. It's still a fair way off the front but still, I never though this story would get so much support and progress so really quickly, I'd just like to thank every single person out there, whether you're the silent readers, the voters and/or the commenters. This wouldn't have progressed so far without you xxx
