**Monty**

"You said we were visiting your family in Moon Rose, but why haven't we ever heard you talk about them?" I found myself questioning in the front seat next to our mom who was watching the road.
She glanced to me.
"Your uncle and I fought a lot growing up, he didn't want me to be another brainless omega like the rest, so when he found out I was in love with your dad. He threw quite the temper." She told us as I frowned softly.
"And you didn't see that as a hint that maybe dad wasn't meant for you?" I asked her.
She blinked.
"If your dad wasn't meant for me, you problem children wouldn't be here." She told me with a soft smirk.

I smirked back.
"True, but if you didn't submit and chose someone else who wasn't dad, you'd probably be happier." I told her.
Her brows furrowed.
"You don't think I'm happy?"

"Are you kidding, auntie?" Asta questioned in the backseat as he sat next to Moxie.
"The moment I walked through the doors and you saw me, this sadness was written all over your face!" He told her.
She blinked before frowning.
"I was sad because of the situation with your cousin, Asta, but after last night. I'm choosing my children's happiness over what Ace wants." She looked at Moxie who sat there looking back at her.
"Which is another reason on why we're going to see our other family, its a break I think we could use, and I'm sure your parents will be happy to see you, Asta." She told him as he frowned but nodded.

I sat there for a moment before looking out the window.
"Are you going to leave him?" I questioned not wanting to see her expression.
She was quiet.
"I don't know, there's a lot going on for us Monty, if I leave your dad..." She went quiet again as she stared ahead.
"Let's stop talking about it, we're almost there." She said blinking away the tears that were burning her eyes.

We drove up to a two story house where this man stood outside the house staring at our moms car.
She was hesitant on getting out before she turned and looked at the four of us.
"Stay here and let me talk to my brother." She told us.
We frowned but nodded as she got out of the car.

"He definitely seems more intimidating than your dad." Magna commented next to Moxie who smirked softly.
"We've only met her brother once and that was years ago. I think him and our dad got into a fight over the salad or something? But our mom hasn't stayed in touch with him either." He said as I sat up front frowning.
"I heard they had two kids, one is an alpha and the other is a beta." I added.

We watched mom talking to our uncle and it looked like they were arguing at first, you could see the anger in his eyes and the sadness in hers.
He was yelling before he was grabbing her and the two were hugging.

"I've never seen auntie look so sad before." Asta commented as my brows knitted watching our mom walk back over to the car.
She smiled softly.
"Okay, come meet your uncle." She told us.

We got out of the car where the blond stood in his same spot, watching us for a moment.
His blue eyes were harsh the closer we got.

"I thought you had six kids, Laurie?" He questioned and his voice was a lot softer than I was expecting.
She frowned at him.
"I do, four of them are more on their dads side about what's been going on lately, but these are my two youngest sons. Monty and Moxie." She told him before looking at us.
"Kids, this is your uncle Blitz." She told us.

Our uncle Blitz stared at the two of us before his eyes fell on Moxie's mate.
"And you are?" He looked at Magna who blinked before stepping past Moxie.
"I'm Magna Grimes, your nephew's mate." He told him.

Blitz blinked before he smirked looking at our mom.
"I can see the reason you brought them here now, I'm guessing Ace is still a typical stuck up bastard who thinks he's always right, and that if it doesn't go his way, it's no way?" He questioned looking at our mom who frowned crossing her arms.
"You know he wasn't always like that Blitz, he's gone through a-"

"Please do not defend Ace Ellison on our property." This woman spoke up at the door of the house with her arms crossed.
She had long brown hair and bright hazel eyes looking right at our mom.

She frowned at the brunette who stood there frowning back at her.
"If anyone here has gone through a lot, it's Apollo. He was best friends with that man who was supposed to be his brother, but where was Ace when Apollo finally settled with Bonnie? Where was he when they were in that accident and his wife had to have their son c sectioned out of her because she was dying?!" The brunette stormed down the stairs out into the yard glaring at our mom.
"If it's not about Ace he doesn't give two shits who gets hurt, and you wonder why your own brother stopped checking on you! Because you got dumber and dumber after you popped out each kid. So something must have happened, otherwise you wouldn't have made the drive here unannounced." She spat bitterly.

Our mom was quiet.
"Ivy-"
The brunette had this hatred in her eyes for a moment staring at our mom.
She inhaled sharply before looking towards us.

"Asta, you live here, take your cousins and that vampire somewhere else. The grown ups need to talk and you kids are being a real distraction." She told us.
I blinked but frowned when Asta nodded looking at us.
"We can go hit up the park until they're done screaming at each other." He told us.
We were hesitant but we followed the other leaving our mom with her brother and that woman.

Laurie stood there frowning at Blitz and Ivy who were frowning at her.
"Let's take this inside." Ivy said walking ahead of the two.
Blitz looked at his sister frowning.
"I'm guessing Ace said no to the vampire idea?" He questioned as Laurie frowned deeply staying quiet as the other scoffed shaking his head as they walked into the house.

Ivy walked into the kitchen.
"I'd offer you a refreshment but we're low on groceries until Saturday." She said turning the water in the sink on, filling an empty glass with water before walking into the living room where Laurie and Blitz were already sitting.

Ivy frowned at her before she offered the other the glass.
Laurie was hesitant frowning.
"I didn't spit in it, take the damn cup." Ivy hissed.
Laurie frowned taking the glass staring down at it.

"You've lost a lot of weight." Blitz commented looking at Laurie who frowned at him.
"You'd lose weight too if you were stressed half the time." She frowned.
Blitz rolled his eyes.
"Stress? Please, our kids are never home so it's been heaven on earth for our little house." He told her sitting back in the recliner.
"But we're not on the kid topic yet, lets get on the topic of you and that trash you married." He said looking at her who flinched before glaring.

"Is name calling really necessary?" She asked.
"You kidding? You came to our house and you expect us to speak kind words about Ace?" Ivy growled at her.
"There is no redemption for someone who can sit back and ruin lives, who can kill someones mate because they're mixed! Why do you think a lot of us packed our shit and moved to Moon Rose? He makes us sick! He's a twisted piece of shit and it's a miracle you and your kids are still alive." Ivy glared.

Laurie frowned at her.
"My oldest three can take care of themselves, it's my youngest who I worry about.." She frowned deeply.
"Ace made Monty act like a beta for ten years and I just found out last night." She said.

"He did what?" She looked up and frowned at the anger in her brother's eyes.
"Which one was that?" He asked her.
"The blond one." She told him.

"They're both blond sweetie, try again." Ivy told her.
Laurie blinked before frowning.
"Monty was the one in the orange shirt." She said.

"How was he able to make your son act like a beta? No wait, better question, why the fuck didn't your kid say anything?" Blitz glared at her.
Laurie frowned at him.
"Ace told him that if he said anything, they would have problems. I guess it scared Monty? But he told Moxie before anyone and Moxie told us last night." She said.

Blitz was rubbing his temples.
"What the actual fuck, Laurie? You know what you need to do? You need to leave that trash and get back with Bane Silver." He told her.

Laurie made a face.
"Bane? Blitz, I haven't talked to him in years, not to mention." She held her wrist up where a bite mark was.
"You can't exactly see other alpha's when you're marked by someone else." She glared.
Blitz glared back.
"Bullshit, the moment you find that person you actually link with? That alpha bites over the old bite mark and you are theirs, if you are finally tired of Ace-"

"I can't just throw away my marriage like nothing Blitz!" Laurie yelled now glaring at him.
"We have kids together and-"
"Two of them who hate him? Yeah no, if all of your kids loved that man, they would of stayed back like the other four. All you're doing is making excuses Laurie." Blitz frowned at her.

Laurie sat there frowning deeply.
"I'm not you Blitz, I can't just-"
"Break hearts despite how much yours has been broken, all by one person?" He asked her.
She flinched as her brows knitted.

Ivy stared at her before she took out some paper and a pen.
"I'm going to give you Bane's info, text or call him, you're still young Laurie. So you know there's hope." She told her.

Laurie took the paper and read over Bane's name with a soft frown, her brows were furrowed.
"I need to think this over, this is my marriage we're talking about, my oldest son is twenty eight years old. If I throw away our marriage because of-"
"Ace being a self centered asshole who confused the hell out of your son growing up thinking he was supposed to be a beta when in reality, he's an omega? Oh! Or the fact he doesn't support my other nephew for being mated to that vampire you showed up with?" Blitz demanded looking at her.

Laurie glared at him.
"I know you hate him Blitz, you always will, but this is my life." She frowned.
Blitz frowned at her.
"Yeah your life that you're letting him fuck up, you were happy with Bane! But that bastard showed up and suddenly you were all about him, he showered you with money and gifts, and all Bane could offer was roses and actual compassion. Your sense of priority is fucked up." He told her.
She blushed looking away.

"Well excuse me for being happy at the time." She argued.
Blitz rolled his eyes getting up from the recliner.

"Let's get off that topic, where are you staying while visiting good o' Moon Rose?" He asked her.
She frowned.
"There's a hotel down the road me and the kids will stay at, it'll give my boys time to meet their other cousins besides Asta, and it will give me time to put my thoughts together on what I really need to do." She said walking towards the door.
"Well hopefully your brain starts working and you finally decide to leave that trash and get with the one who actually loved you!" Blitz yelled after her as she stepped outside of the house and walked to the car.

"So I know mom said we we're going to be here for a few days, but how long is a few days in the female language?" I asked sitting in the swing next to Asta while Moxie and Magna sat in front of us.
"I'm betting for at least a week." Asta told me as I made a face.
"A week?" I frowned.
"Could be longer." He shrugged.
"But Moon Rose isn't so bad, it's actually ten times better than Crossroads." He said now.

We looked at him and it looked like Moxie wanted to say something to Asta but was trying to fight against it.
It had me curious but I was going to stay quiet until Moxie was ready to bring it to the surface.

"Why didn't you tell us that you're dating Magna's brother?" Moxie blurted out and my eyes grew wide the moment Asta fell out of the swing.
"What?" Magna looked confused.
"You're dating my brother? Wait.. Which brother?" He looked at Asta.

Asta was staring at Moxie.
"How did you find out-"
"Cadence told me-"
"Cadence knows you're dating my brother but no one thought to tell me?" Magna sat there looking more offended with knitted brows.

Asta looked at him frowning.
"It's complicated." He frowned.

"How complicated?" Magna glared at him.
Asta frowned.
"Complicated enough that I'm pregnant with his kid and I haven't told anyone yet, OH FUCKING WAIT!" He glared.

My eyes grew wide.

"Holy shit dude."
