Chapter 20: His touch
"AH!" I scream as I jump at the sudden noise.

"It's just the floorboard," Aiden replies annoyed.

Layla, Gabe, and Daniel all went to the first floor of the lake house while Aiden and I stayed on the top. The house was big and it was creepy. I shouldn't have come.

We finished walking up the wooden stairs and made it to the top floor. There was a hallway that led to different rooms. About three doors on each side of the walls. Why would they need that many rooms?

Aiden walked in front of me, slightly brushing my arm. I quickly grabbed his arm which made him tense once again and turn around.

"Where are you going?" I whispered frightened. As much as I hated to admit it, I needed Aiden to stay near me. Going into a creepy house with someone already makes me want to puke but going alone will bring my anxiety back.

He turned to face me amused, his blue eyes not noticeable in the dark. He removed his arm from my hand and grabbed my arm which made me tense. His warm palm felt relieving at the touch.

"Do I have to hold your hand?" he asked me with an eyebrow raised.

"I-" I started. But, I couldn't finish. Why couldn't I talk?

He let go of my arm and suddenly I sort of missed the warmness that used to be there. Why? Why did I miss it? Was I cold? Maybe I was cold.

He quickly locked our hands. His surrounding mine perfectly. The tattoo on his arm not as visible as before. The warmness suddenly came back. Yeah, I must be cold.

We walked through the hallway and turned to face one of the rooms.

"Abigail" I whispered reading the name that was written on the door in black marker. Shivers crawled my skin.

"I'm guessing that's the mother," Aiden added afterward.

We gave each other a quick glance. I don't know about him but I'm glad I wore sneakers cause a girl about to turn into Usain Bolt.

He rested his hand on the doorknob and opened the door slowly.

"Oh my god-" I whispered in fear.

"Or maybe it's the little girl's," Aiden whispered.

The room was dark but still visible. It was filled with pink. The walls were covered in pink and what looked like was a little bit of red. The windows were covered with some sort of bars, the ones they used in jails. There was a tiny bed in the corner that was unmade, the pink fairy blanket scattered on the sheets. There were drawings on the wall, one looked like a knife.

I walked into the room letting go of Aiden's hand. I walked over to the drawings on the wall. I gently brushed my fingers on them, tracing the outlines.

"Why do you think she killed them?" I ask Aiden with my back turned to him. No response.

"Aiden I asked you a-" I say as I turn around to realize no one was there. Where the hell did Aiden go?

"AIDEN!" I screamed in panic. No, I wasn't panicking because he could get hurt but I was panicking because I was alone in this creepy girl's bedroom. Jeez, that sounded harsh.

I started to fiddle my hands with each other. It was still dark in the room so I couldn't see it as much.

"AIDEN?" I screamed again. How far could he have gone? GOD WHY DID HE EVEN LEAVE.

I felt the panic in me increase and I started fast walking my way to the door. I needed to leave this girl's room. Is this the door?

Before I know it I trip on something on the ground and a sharp pain injects on my hand as I hit the floor. I scream in pain but only let it last for a couple of seconds in case there's someone up here with me that took Aiden.

"Sh*t," I looked at my hand to see a big cut through it. The blood that was once secured in my body now gushing through the slit. I groan in pain and rip a piece of my sleeve off. I wrapped it quickly around my hand and tried to look for what I tripped on. As soon as my vision came back I see a circular figure.

"What the hell" I whisper to myself confused.

I stepped closer. My heart dropped, a pain in my stomach started to form and the banging in my head began. There was a human skull laying on the floor. The bones are well defined.

"No, no," I whispered. I don't know what came for me but it wasn't panic only, I felt fear, alone, scared. I started to quickly back up and felt myself bump into something.

I turned around and quickly punched whoever was behind me in the face.

"F*CK" they groaned. Wait, that voice sounded too familiar.

The person got up to reveal his black hair and blue eyes, his white teeth and rosy lips were now covered in a little bit of his blood.

"Oh my god Aiden I'm so sorry," I quickly said in shock as I cringed at his face. The realization then hit me and the anger boiled back into me.

"NO, IM NOT SORRY! YOU LEFT ME HERE! WHY THE HELL IN THE RIGHT MIND WOULD YOU EVER DO THAT! COULD YOU NOT SEE THAT I WAS AFRAID!" I screamed at him in anger.

"I had to use the f*cking restroom for god's sake!" he yelled back angrily at me.

"F*cking idiot," I murmured.

He seemed pissed and wouldn't even attempt to form eye contact with me. He brushed his black hair out of his face and rubbed his eyes.

"I'm out of here," I say while walking out of the room. I quickly zoom down the stairs afraid of what are in the other rooms and walk back to the truck.

Layla, Gabe, and Daniel were probably still having the time of their lives so I didn't plan on telling them I wanted to leave. I sat at the end of the truck and wiped my face of its panic.

I heard footsteps and quickly assumed it was Aiden. I was right. He walked back to the end of the truck and sat next to me.

"I'm sorry okay. I didn't think you would get that scared," he said as he started fiddling with the rips in his jeans.

I looked up at him and he looked back at me. This was the nice Aiden, the one that I wanted to see.

"No I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone off like that it's not my business to say when you have to pee or-" I say before I wipe a piece of hair from my face.

"What happened to your arm?" he interrupts me as he shifts his body to fully turn to me. He grabbed my hand in his arm and examined it.

"I fell and got a tiny cut," I chuckled.

He slowly started to unwrap the clothing from my hand making the wind hit my cut. I hissed in the pain and tried my best to not drop a single tear.

"This isn't a tiny cut Hev," he said looking worried. Hev? Seriously?

"My dad has a kit at the lake house, I could wrap it for you," he said looking me in my eyes. His thumb grazing the top of my palm that was above my cut.

I looked him in the eyes and it felt like we were staring at each other forever in the silence. But it wasn't uncomfortable it was just...normal.

"LAYLA PUKED!" I heard Gabe scream from far away.

Aiden quickly let go of my hand and cleared his throat.

Woahhhh they got a little close this chapter.
