Chapter 15: No caller ID
"2 weeks?!" I yell loudly in outrage as I pace back and forth, my hands clung onto my hips.

My mother's dark brown eyes widened at my level of volume, "Honey calm down," she said while using silent hand gestures for me to lessen my voice.

I stopped pacing and stepped closer towards her, "Mom, I can not stay 2 weeks in a room with Aiden," I whispered angrily.

She looked at me with annoyance hung on her face before she gave me an odd stare, "Oh, are you guys like an old couple...awkward," she said with a cringed face as she fiddled with the flowers on her white dress.

I looked at her with widened eyes, "NO!" I yelled while pacing before she gestured for me to quiet down again,  I stopped pacing and walked back to her, "No. I've never dated him and I don't want to." I told her as I crossed my arms.

She did the exact and crossed her long slim arms before talking, "Look, we were invited to this lake house and we're not going to cause difficulties okay. It's for 2 weeks. Put on your big girl pants," she told me before walking out of the kitchen, her heels clicking every step she took.

I breathed out and sat down on the seat rubbing my head in frustration.

My room was drenched in water so badly that the floors have become messed up. It would take them a while to do the floor but my mom doesn't know how long that will have to end up taking. That meant I have to spend a longer time in Aiden's room, which was awful because of the nightmares that I would very much like to suffer by myself.

It felt so odd being asked about how I felt, I didn't find it annoying but I just found it odd. Feelings weren't something I expressed and it felt new to me. I had to admit that sleeping with Aiden wasn't as bad as I pictured, he was a firm sleeper and stayed on his side of the bed.

I pictured what the next 2 weeks would look like having to have Aiden watch me suffer my nightmares.

"Hey!" Gabe said happily, bursting me out of my thoughts he entered into the kitchen.

He wore a white oversized shirt that reached about 3 inches above his knee. He had on black camouflage pants that were as loose as his shirt but stayed firmly wrapped around his waist. A black beanie covered some of his curls and he wore a silver necklace that I adored.

"Hi," I say as I smile at him.

He took a seat on the stool in front of me, the island separating the both of us.

He rested his arms on the table and grabbed an apple from the bowl of fruits that were set in the middle, "You look like a car just ran you over," he said as he took a bite out of the apple and chewed loudly.

I glared at him before replying, "It's just my room is damaged because of that stupid hole in it and now I have to stay in Aiden's room," I told him as I sighed and moved the hair out of my face.

He looked at me with a light in his brown eyes, "Aiden and Heaven? Never expected that to happen," he said as he formed a grin with his red cherry lips.

I flipped him off and he lifted his eyebrows up and down smiling while taking another bite of his apple.

"You skate huh?" I ask him as he pulls out his phone and his screensaver is a picture of a black skateboard that had a design on the back of flames.

"Correct," he responded as he looked at me and to his lock screen.

"You've got to teach me someday," I said excitedly as I looked at him.

"Only if that means we get to binge-watch more Good Girls," he replied with a mischievous smile.

We both started laughing and talked for a while.

"Where's Aiden and Daniel?" I asked as I realized they weren't here once again.

Gabe's eyes turned from bright and happy to a sort of sad expression, "Out" he murmured as he picked up his phone and started scrolling through it to avoid more of the conversation.

I didn't want to be rude and seem like I'm interrogating him so I kept my mouth closed and changed the topic.

"That wasn't me! I swear I've never-" I start before being interrupted by the front door opening.

Gabe and I give each other an odd look and stand up to walk into the living room and see who it was. Daniel and Aiden walked in. Aiden looked as drenched as ever, he has a cut on his lip and his knuckles were red as the sun on a hot day. His sweater covered up the rest of his body but I had a feeling he might have some bruises under there also. Daniel looked perfectly fine. He flipped his blonde hair and walked over to the couch looking slightly faded.

Aidens hair was in his face. He wore a white sweatshirt that made his muscles more noticeable and black dark jeans that complimented his hair. He walked tiredly to the couch and sat down beside Daniel. His blue eyes seeming as dead as ever.

Gabe and I looked at each other confused before turning to face them.

"Where were you guys," Gabe asked them intrigued as he tapped his fingers on the couch.

"Just out," Daniel lied. I could tell he was lying, I've lived my whole life lying to the people I was close too, I know how it goes.

I was about to ask Aiden why he looked so worked out but the buzz that started to ring in the back of my pocket stopped me.

I grabbed the phone from the back of my butt pocket and look at who the caller was.

No caller ID

My hands became clammy and I felt my throat slightly clog up in worry.

No. How did he find me? Was it him?

I guess my feared expression showed a little more than I wanted it to since I looked up to see Daniel and Gabe looking at me worriedly. Even though Daniel's eyes weren't as open and visible I could still see the worry if I squinted.

I quickly hang up and clear my throat, placing the phone back in my pocket.

"Um, weird caller," I say laughing as I rubbed my hands together and started to walk towards the kitchen.

"Why are they weird?" Aiden asked. I stopped in my steps and turned back to face the three of them. He slightly leaned forward from the couch poking his neck up, the black ink that was designed there lightly forming on his adam's apple.

"Just an old old old friend," I lie as I smiled at them all. Gabe looked at me oddly now and so did Daniel.

Well, thanks Aiden.

Daniel rubbed his eyes and stretched as he stood up from the couch, "Well, I'm hungry. Y'all got food?"

I nodded and he rushed to the kitchen laughing at something. Who knows what he even laughs at the dude was faded.

I felt Aidens eyes still on me as I tried to find words to fill up the awkwardness. Move Heaven, walk to the kitchen.

"Awh my lollipop is over," Gabe whined as he took the white stick out of his mouth.

When did he get a lollipop?

His eyes slowly lit up, "I HAVE ANOTHER ONE IN MY CAR!" he yelled happily to himself as he grabbed his keys from inside his pocket and walked out, leaving the front door open.

I glanced back at Aiden who was still looking at me. His cold blue eyes now just seemed like they were urging for something. I cleared my throat and quickly rushed to the restroom.

I don't like it when people care about me. When people ask me about things I don't discuss with people about.

But Aiden, he seemed to be those people who had the addiction to find out about others but keep his life the same mystery. And I hate to admit it, but I was that person too.

Why does Aiden want to know what she's hiding so bad?
