Cerulean orbs stared at the building in utter amazement. He did not think that his brother could live in a building such as a mansion. He'd guess that he had a much simpler life than Naruto. The blonde looked down at Sasuke, the peacefulness on the raven's face gave him a sense of hope. Honestly, it was just him and Itachi, who Naruto had learned as Sasuke's brother. "He will be alright," Itachi spoke with such softness it was hard for Naruto to reply. Feeling Itachi's hand on his shoulder, Naruto turned his head toward the taller Uchiha. "I'm grateful that he's found you, Naruto." Naruto tilted his head, demonstrating confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"In the past, your past life, you were a girl. Sasuke was... always there to protect you and I was there to protect Kyuubi. The rose that you had given Sasuke – it had a special scent only demons could smell," Itachi explained. "Anyway, anything else you want to know about the past, please ask Sasuke when he's ready. I'm sure he'll tell you." Naruto nodded slowly.
"Thank you."
"No, Naruto, thank you." Itachi replied, before he got up to leave the room. Naruto went back to quietly staring at Sasuke. He hesitantly reached his hand to touch the latter's face. For some reason, he had the urge to kiss the other boy. Unconsciously, he had leaned in, his lips millimeters away from Sasuke's. The door suddenly creaked open; and Naruto jumped out of his seat – literally – and landed on the floor.
"What are you doing?" It was a girl who had asked the question. Naruto could tell it wasn't Hinata or else she'd be stuttering. Frowning, he got up and turned around. His eyes met emerald green, which widened at the mere sight of him. He could see the shock on her face. Naruto stared at her, she had pink hair with bangs parted and chin length. Her hair was short, but it framed her face beautifully.
Naruto had to admit she was very beautiful.
A pink brow rose pointedly at him, her hands suddenly on her hips. This caught Naruto off guard. "I assume you're Naruto?" She asked. Speechless, Naruto nodded. The girl hummed. "I see, so you must be..." She didn't say anything else, her words died out. Sasuke's lover... She thought, the finished part of the sentence. "Um, Gaara's looking for you, Naruto, I think he wants to tell you something important." She said with a sweet polite smile. "I have to finish up with Sasuke's healing process so if you could—" A low groan stopped her from kicking Naruto of the room as politely as she possibly could – the jealousy was kicking in and she knew it.
"No need, Sakura," Sasuke voiced, groaning. "I'm fine, Naruto will stay." Naruto turned to Sasuke and sat back down in his seat. Gaara needed to wait to talk to him. If it was that important, he'd go right away, but Sasuke was first on his agenda. He looked at the girl, Sakura, who faltered considerably. Naruto didn't fail to notice to quick frown on her face.
Sakura snorted before she moved toward the raven. She remembered that he was a stuck up jerk around everyone else except Naruko. This time it was around only Naruto that he'd show his affections for. Emerald eyes watched as Naruto's hand moved to touch Sasuke. Sakura inwardly frowned – her jealousy sparking up. Why can't Sasuke be nice to only me? Sakura questioned as she continued to heal the raven's wounds. "Sasuke, could you ask Naruto to kindly leave, please?" She asked, smiling her signature honey-coated smile. Naruto and Sasuke looked at her. Sasuke didn't give her a quick reply. However, Naruto sensed the oddness in her voice.
"No," Sasuke replied. Naruto's blue gaze averted to Sasuke who met his gaze. "You don't need to leave. I want you to stay, Naruto." Naruto couldn't help the giddy feeling that suddenly appeared in his stomach. He couldn't help the nostalgic feeling he got when Sasuke's presence was around him. Sakura bit her lip. She felt as if Naruto was intruding – even though he wasn't at all – she didn't react too kindly to his presence.
"Sasuke, for me to perform healing I need to be alone with you." Sakura explained. Sasuke merely ignored her, staring into Naruto's cerulean eyes and possibly getting lost in them. Sakura looked at Naruto, silently telling him to get out. Naruto didn't notice her silent order. A low growl was released from her throat. "Excuse me, Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, I need you to please leave. Sasuke's wound is very serious and just because he's awake now does not mean he'll be awake after the healing process. I'm sure you have plenty other things to keep you busy, am I correct?" Sakura asked. She did not give Naruto any room to reply. "Good, then please leave until I say you may visit, Sasuke."
Sasuke watched Naruto get up and walk to the door, a frown on his face. Sasuke wanted to show Naruto how much he missed him, but assumed what Sakura did was for a reason. He was still angry, though, but not angry enough to burn the girl. He only wished to do that to Karin. "Control those emotions, Sakura, someone could easily manipulate them." Sasuke warned. Sakura frowned, silently healing Sasuke.
"Sasuke, I need to tell you something." Sakura said. Onyx eyes locked with emerald-green. Swallowing thickly, Sakura knew she was silently urged to continue. "I know you love him still... e-even though she is a boy now. I know that it'll be hard for you to deal with the pain. Do you really think that he'll return the feelings you have like in the past when he was a girl? Sasuke, you have plenty to choose from. Sakura finished healing him – he wound disappearing without leaving a scar. "Sasuke... I love you! I love you so much it hurts. It hurts me to watch you try to get close to—to him when you don't know if he's going to return the feelings!"
"Stop talking, Sakura," Sasuke mumbled. Sakura's eyes widened. Why? She knew what she was saying. She knew it was the truth. She could feel it. Sasuke was beginning to hurt on the inside.
"But, Sasuke—"
"I said stop talking." Sasuke's voice rose slightly, but still had an edge to it. Sakura's hands fell to her side, clenching into fists. She felt as if her heart broke into a million pieces. However, she wasn't damaged. She wasn't going to continue to go after Sasuke. She wasn't Karin. There were plenty of men for her.
"Fine, you can either stay here and rest or go look for him." Sakura sneered. Sasuke glared at the girl and she glared back. Sakura was a vampire hunter that had fallen for Sasuke like Karin. It was at first sight. Unfortunately, Naruko had gotten to the vampire rose seeds first before she or Karin could. Even Ino was a tad jealous. Sakura convinced herself to confess at the very least – though she still felt that she was better than someone who had reincarnated and didn't remember any of them. It doesn't matter anyway... Sakura thought. Sasuke loves Naruto deep within and apparently somewhere deep within Naruto, Naruko is still inside him no matter what. I will not interfere.
Naruto stared at the beautiful night sky, the stars shining brightly above him as the cool breeze hit his whiskered cheeks. Gaara stood next to him, staring at the sky smiling a rare smile, as the breeze hit his cheeks, causing them to redden. "Hey Gaara?" Naruto spoke suddenly. Green eyes averted from the sky to meet Naruto's cerulean eyes.
"What is it?"
"Remember when I was little, I said I wanted to find my one and only?" Gaara's eyes widened. He felt his body stiffen. Did Naruto think Sasuke was his one and only? Gaara pressed his lips together, nodding stiffly. Naruto let out a small laugh. "I don't understand why, but I think... I think Sasuke might be that person. It's weird. I got a nostalgic feeling while I was in his presence. For some reason, I feel safe when he's around."
Gaara felt his body suddenly shake with jealousy. His heartbeat sped up and his stomach clenched painfully. He turned around and grabbed Naruto's shoulders, surprising the blonde. Before Naruto could even speak, Gaara's lips pressed against his own. Cerulean eyes widened, and Naruto felt his body stiffen. His head began to swirl with thoughts and feelings that Gaara had ever since they were little.
When Gaara pulled away, Naruto blinked his eyes still wide. His mouth was slightly open, unable to speak. Gaara didn't let him. He was the first to speak. "Here me out, Naruto," He demanded. Naruto closed his mouth, and waited for Gaara to continue. "I love you." The red head confessed. "I've loved you since we were in middle school, maybe even younger. I didn't want to say anything, knowing you'd react differently. If Sasuke is the one for you Naruto- if he is your confidant, I am not going to stop you. I don't want you to get hurt." Naruto nodded. He stepped forward and hugged his best friend.
"Gaara, I love you too, you're like a brother to me. I promise you that I won't get hurt, okay. I promise. But," Gaara frowned at this. There was always a 'but' to something. "Promise me, that you'll find someone special too." Gaara nodded, feeling satisfied with his confession –though he though the kiss was a little much and he didn't plan that; it just happened.
"Naruto?"
"Yes, Gaara."
"Sorry about the kiss." Naruto grinned at Gaara. He was fine with Gaara being his first kiss. He knew Gaara feelings for him so it didn't matter. Naruto shook his head.
"Don't worry about it, Gaara." Naruto smiled. "I'll redo it when I confirm that Sasuke is my one and only or as you put it, my confident; and that my dreams are telling me that I did have something with him." Gaara nodded. He guessed that Naruto wasn't sure about Sasuke, but everyone else was. Everyone knew Sasuke and Naruto's past. Gaara exhaled deeply, finally, he had confessed to Naruto, – it was a well-needed confession.
Definitely.
