Chapter 3.

"Gaara knock it off," Temari ordered, voice threatening.  "Obviously, we are in trouble, but that doesn't mean that you need to be an asshole." She watched as her little brother paced back and forth on the roof. Karin was threat to them now and keeping secrets from Naruto would be much harder.  "If Karin is awakened then that means..."  Temari trailed off.

"Orochimaru is awake as well."  Kankuro growled.  "What are we going to do?  We need to tell Kakashi so that he can tell Kyuubi and Tsunade."

"Tsunade might already know, it's just a matter of time before she deems it ready for Naruto to come live with us.  Meaning we all have to move away from the orphanage.  The kids wouldn't want that but..." Temari frowned.

"It's a decision that will be made when we are all ready. Right now, our focus is to protect Naruto. We also need to show him our powers. We will tell him the truth, but we'll need to take it slow."  Gaara said, stopping in his steps.  Temari and Kankuro nodded, determination set in their eyes.

"Sasuke should be awakened by now, shouldn't he?" Temari asked. Gaara clenched his fists. He gritted his teeth, feeling his heart clench with jealousy – his stomach churned at the thought of the two people that once were a couple coming together again.

What will happen when Naruto knows more of the truth?

Emerald orbs widened as a sudden blast caused her to fly.  A scream escaped her lips as her feet lifted from the ground against her will. She managed to catch herself from falling awkwardly. Her eyes met deep onyx ones, glaring at them. She raised an elegant pink brow, before standing straight. "That wasn't fair!" She cried, crossing her arms over her chest. "Sasuke."

A grunt was heard from the other.  Sasuke  closed his eyes, a small smirk spreading across his face. He crossed his arms as well.  "What?  Jealous that I have a lot more power than you?"  Sasuke taunted, the girl.  "Sakura." Sakura, unaffected by the taunt, smiled at Sasuke.  She wore a red kimono with cherry blossom flowers on it.

"Please?  Jealous of you?  I may be the medic of the team, but I can fight."  She smirked, masking her presence with her mental shield. Like Temari, Sakura is able to create a mental shield as well.  However, she has not fully mastered the technique. She then teleported behind the raven-haired demon, attacking him with her kunai. "You obviously forgot that I have the mental shi—whah!" Sasuke stepped to the side, causing Sakura to fall face first into the dirt.  "Ouch," She grunted.  Green eyes blinked, confused as they watched Sasuke walk over to the one person they were sworn to protect.

Sakura felt her right eye twitch in annoyance.  She knew they were something between Naruko and Sasuke, but quite honestly, it was getting in the way of their training for the battle that was soon to come. She smirked, teleporting to where  Sasuke and Naruko were.  "Naruko!"  She cried out happily, hugging her friend.  Sasuke raised an eyebrow.  Sakura pulled back from Naruko who blinked in confusion. "A little birdie told me that you and Sasuke are in love!"

Sasuke felt his eye twitch.  Naruko opened her mouth, a deep blush spread across her face. "S-Sakura-chan," Naruko moaned, averting her gaze from Sasuke.  Sakura rounded the blonde haired girl.

"Oh come on, Naruko, you know you like him, don't you?" Sakura's voice was laced with jealousy, Naruko could feel it.  She opened her mouth to speak before she was suddenly pushed forward. Sakura teleported away from them, disappearing from view. Naruko fell onto Sasuke, leaving the two in a position that caused the blonde to turn an even deeper red.

"I-I-I-I," Sasuke interrupted the stuttering girl with a kiss.  His hand on her whiskered cheek, eyes closed softly.  Naruko's eyes widened before the slowly softened and she gave into the kiss.

"Naruko!"  A voice cried, causing the two to separate.  "Naruto!"

Cerulean orbs shot open, meeting Temari's worried gaze.  His gaze wandered around the room until he realized that they were on the roof at the school.  Naruto sat up slowly, his eyes widened.  "G-Gaara, oh my gosh, are you okay?  That girl... a-and you were...  I was...  What the hell happened and what is going on?"  Naruto locked eyes with Gaara whose eyes widened slightly.

"Naruto, the girl you saw back at the school was named Karin.  She's a demon."  Temari answered before Gaara could.  She knew that Gaara was going to dodge the questions no matter the truth. Temari put her finger to his lips.  "Let me explain, demons are real. Do you remember her powers?"  Naruto nodded slowly, after thinking for a moment.  "All right, some demons are not as evil as you think."

"But why was she so angry with me?" The confused blonde asked.

Kankuro crossed his arms. He closed his eyes as he leaned against the fence on the roof. "She's just pissed off that she wasn't Sasuke's confidant." He replied, rolling his deep brown eyes. Temari groaned, feeling their little brothers own anger and jealousy radiate in the room even though she didn't have that power, Naruto did. Naruto raised an eyebrow.

"Confidant?" Naruto inquired. "What's that?"

"You'll find out about that later, Naruto."  Kankuro said, sighing.  Temari nodded her head.  Kankuro was right, Naruto needed to learn things slowly. "It matters that you learn things slowly and not too fast." Naruto nodded slowly, he felt he should know everything but if they felt he needed to know things slowly then so be it. As long as it was just the truth and no lies.

"How was Gaara in so much pain?"  Naruto asked, eyes furrowing with worry as his gaze wandered to the red head. Temari ruffled his blond hair.

"What you've seen so far was Karin's pain illusion. Temari began to explained it to you, but I'm going to guess that you were focused on Gaara more that you were on her.  She can project the illusion of pain into one's mind, thus incapacitating them. She's also able to teleport from one place to another."  Kankuro explained.  "She has more power than you realize, you need to be careful now Naruto."  The blonde nodded his head, gaze pointing at the floor.  He fell deep into his thoughts before he looked up at Kankuro.

"Why is she full of so much hate?"  Naruto asked.  "I don't know if I'm asking too much, but...  I need to know."  Blue eyes met brown ones.  Kankuro sighed.

"Karin's been this way since your past life."  Kankuro said, scratching his head.  Gaara snapped his head to his older brother.  Sea-green orbs glared at Kankuro's head, as if to burn a hole in it.  Kankuro ignored Gaara and continued explaining things to the blonde. Kankuro sighed.  "I don't know how to explain Karin and her hatred."  He murmured.  "Women are so weird."  He commented, earning a smack on the head from Temari.

"It's simple, really."  Temari said.  "Karin was in love with someone who chose someone else."  She explained.  "That said, there's nothing else to explain."

"What the hell are you talking about?"  Gaara demanded.  "Karin's been out for blood for eighteen years now."  He growled.  "Orochimaru is awake now – we need to take action." Naruto blinked confused.  Orochimaru?  Who's that? Temari sighed and Kankuro shook his head.

"We aren't authorized to take action yet, Gaara."  Temari reasoned.  "We just have to wait."  And protect Naruto...  Gaara let out a frustrated groan, running a hand through his crimson hair.

"Tell me more."  Naruto spoke up.  "I want to know more about myself, about Karin, and you three.  I want to know who this Orochimaru person is and I want to know why Karin is filled with so much hatred. I also want to know if I hold more than just the powers I already possess. I want to know what it is as well.  Can you tell me?" Temari, Kankuro, and Gaara shared a glance.  Gaara crossed his arms while Temari sighed and Kankuro smirked.  Naruto's eyebrows furrowed as he prepared himself for disappointment.

"I'm against it, but, I have a feeling it's going to be three to one."  Gaara sighed.  Temari giggled and Kankuro grinned, slapping his brother hard on the back. Naruto lit up with happiness and excitement – something Gaara was happy to see.  Naruto jumped to his feet and launched himself at Gaara, wrapping his arms around the red haired teen's neck.

"Thank you, thank you, and thank you!"  Naruto yelled.  "You're the best Gaara!" Gaara grunted in reply as Temari and Kankuro decided to hug him too. Gaara closed his eye and let a small rare smile spread across his face. You're welcome...  Naruto.

A thin gray brow rose as his eyes followed Karin's movements as she paced back and forth. Suigetsu shook his head as he sipped his cup of water. He didn't understand why Karin had so much hatred toward this Naruto kid. He hadn't even seen him yet. If what she said were true, that Naruko had been reborn into a man – wouldn't that give her the chance to be with Sasuke? Violet eyes rolled as he listened to her grumble about the blonde haired boy she had seen with the demon slayers.

"I don't think you realize the chance that you've been given, Lady Karin." A voice said. Karin had stopped in her tracks and turn to the gray haired male that sat at the end of a long table. Suigetsu was leaning against it, sipping his water still. Karin raised an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about Kabuto? Aren't you supposed to be attending to Lord Orochimaru's wounds?" She asked. Her crimson eyes narrowed at Kabuto. A smirk spread across his face, pushing his thin-rimmed glasses up the bridge of his nose.

"You've been thinking of a plan to get revenge of Naruko but now that she's a man," Kabuto's smirk changed into a wide grin. Karin crossed her arms. She didn't trust Kabuto words, even though she obviously knew she had the chance to take Sasuke for herself. However, Naruko – Naruto still stood in her way. Karin ignored Kabuto's words. She still wanted revenge, even if she had to kill Naruto to get it. So be it, then, if I have  to kill that – that wretched blonde before he got in the way of me and Sasuke's love, then so be it!

The sound of slurping from Suigetsu made Karin turn around, smirking at both him and Kabuto. "I understand the chance I have with Sasuke now, Kabuto," She said, her hands resting on her hips. "But I have a plan to make Sasuke come out and the only way is to capture one of the people Naruto loves the most." She let out a laugh. "And you two," She pointed to Suigetsu and Kabuto. "Are going to help me." Kabuto smirked, liking the idea of helping Karin. Suigetsu sighed and shrugged his shoulders.

"Fine, I'll help but give me the plan first so that I know what the hell I'm doing." Suigetsu replied. Karin snarled at him.

"Well, first off, go get Juugo. I want his help as well." Karin said. "I haven't thought of the full plan yet, but I assure you when I do, we'll set the plan in motion." She grinned.
