As the girls finally settled down and fell asleep, I could hear the sound of thunder from outside.

It had been raining pretty heavily the whole day, and it looked like it was just getting heavier by the sound coming from outside.

I should get to the hotel quickly. It was already nine now. The girls seriously took forever to go to sleep tonight.

I sat in their bedroom trying the app to order a cab, but its been twenty minutes now with no luck. How will I get to the hotel now? Maybe bus? There must be an umbrella in this house that I could borrow.

With that thought, I grabbed my bag, put my phone in it, gave the girls a final big hug and a kiss, and walked out quietly, careful not to wake them up.

As I walked downstairs, the sound of the rain got even louder. So, I thought I would check outside to see how bad it was.

As I walked by the kitchen, I saw Gabriel by the fridge, grabbing himself something to drink. He paused when he heard my footsteps and looked up.

I looked at him as I passed by, but neither of us said anything. When I reached the entrance I went up to the front door and opened it.

The rain was so heavy you could barely see anything. I was going to step outside when someone grabbed me and pulled me inside, shutting the door.

It was Gabriel. And when he turned, I met his eyes. His very angry bright blue eyes. "Are you crazy?!" He burst out, looking at me furiously.

I just stood there looking dumb founded. I have no idea what had gotten him so angry all of a sudden. He was fine before. Was he angry about the summer thing? Had he only been pretending to be calm in front of the girls? He wasn't going to let them come visit me?

I felt so hurt, but before I could say anything, he burst out again. "Were you seriously thinking of going back to the hotel in that?!" He said, pointing at the floor to ceiling windows, where we could clearly see the heavy rain from outside.

Just then, the dimly lit entrance was lit up by lightning, which was followed by a very loud thunder, which made me flinch.

"How were you even planning to go, because I am pretty sure you couldn't have gotten a cab in this weather? Were you planning on walking?" He asked, raising his brows mockingly with his arms folded in front of his chest.

"Umm, only up to the bus stop." I replied quietly, looking down like a guilty child.

"Are you serious right now? You would be completely soaked by the time you reached there, even if you took an umbrella," he exclaimed, looking at me.

"Well, I can see that," I said, pointing outside, "but I still need to go, don't I?"

"Why?" He asked.

"To sleep of cause!" I exclaimed, giving him a duh expression.

"There are five unoccupied bedrooms upstairs that have everything you need to sleep, from which you could use any of it." He said in a dangerously quiet voice, eyeing me very closely.

His eyes felt like it was looking right through me and could see everything that was going on in my mind, and he was just waiting for me to say it out loud.

I looked away, feeling awkward. I mean, how do I tell him the issue wasn't the number of rooms available, but that I didn't want to stay here.

And I was hungry. Starving, in fact. I haven't eaten anything since breakfast.

Why did the rain have to come. Everything had been going so smoothly.

The whole trip went by without any confrontation. It was the last day. The very last moment, for heavens' sake. If I had left now, I would not be seeing him again for a while.

I will go to the airport straight from the hotel without coming back here.

So close, so very close. But now it looked like I was stuck here. All because the rain couldn't wait one more day, until I had left and was far away from him.

I continued grumbling inside my brain, looking desperately at the rain through the window, wishing it could just stop, until I heard him say, "Well?" In an impatient voice.

I took a peek at him through my lashes. He was still standing by the door, with his arms crossed like as if he was guarding it or something in case I tried to leave again. I mentally rolled my eyes at him.

"Fine, I will just go upstairs and use one of those rooms then." I told him, lifting my chin up and meeting his eyes. Was he expecting a fight? If so, he will have to be disappointed.

I'm not fighting. I can see outside. It's pouring, I have no choice. And I'm not standing here arguing with him. I am avoiding him, remember.

"I will be using the room next to the twins' if that's alright." I continued as I turned to go back upstairs.

"Yeah, that's fine," he said lazily while making his way back to the kitchen. "But have your dinner before you go upstairs." He said, eyeing me.

"I'm not hungry." I instantly replied. But right at that moment, my traitorous stomach decided to betray me by sending out a loud grumble in protest.

I froze, looking down at the culprit, with my eyes wide. I could feel my cheeks flame in embarrassment.

"Looks like your stomach is not agreeing with you there," he drawled with a smirk on his face, making my cheeks redden even more.

I bit my lip and looked up at him. "Come and eat Nicola." He said, turning serious again, nodding towards the kitchen before he went inside.

I sighed and followed him, knowing that I had no choice in that matter either, since my stupid stomach had decided to out me.
