She was jolted awake by the overhead speakers announcing that the plane was landing shortly. Feeling disoriented as to why she was on a plane, she sat up slowly and put on her seat belt. And then it all came rushing back to her so fast, and she could feel her heart clench inside her chest.

Sarah... Her beloved sister was no more. Nicola felt tears prick her eyes again. After the news, she hadn't been able to stop these tears, and now she felt completely drained. Sarah died last night in a car crash due to a drunk driver, which resulted in her instant death. After the death of their parents, the two sisters were all they had and had been inseparable until six years ago, where Nicola had gotten her heart broken and fled the town, vowing never to return again.

Sarah came to visit her almost every summer, though. Nicola smiled, thinking of their summers together in her beach house. First, it was just the two of them, but three years ago, Sarah and Gabriel had welcomed two adorable little girls, Livy and Bella, after which the girls came along with Sarah every summer.

Those poor babies. Nicola felt her heart break all over again, thinking of her sweet little nieces who had been left motherless at just three. How can the world be so cruel. How can people be so careless. Due to an irresponsible man who decided to get in the driver's seat of his car after drinking so much, today she is left alone in this world without her sister, and her tiny nieces without their mother. And a husband without the love of his life.

Before she could lose herself too much in her pain and anger, she heard the air hostress from the overhead speakers again, announcing that we had landed.

Thirty minutes later, she was walking out of the airport, dragging her luggage behind her.

That is the end of the first chapter of my very first book that I have ever written! Yay to me!

Even though it was pretty bad, it was a big accomplishment for me. It has gotten so much better, and I love writing this book so far. So thank you to all the readers who have given my book a try ❤️

I have had this concept in my mind for years now, wanting to write a book about it. And finally I am doing it!!
