She was done.

Yes, she was done.

She was half-full at first, but after she had the dessert, she had felt fuller than she'd ever before. Not mentioning the extra 2 plates of desserts and a Coke.

Cain joined her.

It might have seemed they were having a food war or something.

She didn't care. All she cared was how serene she was feeling, standing before the lake, and looking at strangers skating by. Definitely at ease. Until Cain joined her. By her side, as he stopped to a skid by the crunch of his winter boots.

She almost bolted.

"I have a feeling you would be an ecstatic skate-player." He prodded.

She looked at him.

Was that sarcasm?

"You wouldn't even tell me a few tips on how to skate. I'm an amateur, I need these things." She muttered, "And out of the blue you just had to say that." She didn't look at him.

"I want you to experience it for yourself." He reasoned.

"Great." She turned away from him.

The big building catched her eye and attention. It was tall, and large, not like any hotels she'd ever seen. She wondered, and somehow sure that the fees just for one night would cost a grand amount, more than the times she'd spent for living, and of course, the average cost for travels.

It was large as well, spanning to the right side where the ice lands almost reached like a third of it.

And she walked closer until the toes of her foot-covered-boots were standing on the ice. Averithe not minding it one bit, and forgetting about it a minute after, and by the frozen land that she watched that the people were still skating. Some left, but replaced by the other guests who rented the skating equipment and skid off with such ease into the pool of ice. With the snow still falling on her and around, like frosty dust. She crossed her arms from the frost bites and rubbed it slightly.

Her brown, tan winter coat as a protein for her own. It was magic she didn't freeze over.

She stood there. Until she felt a recognizable presence. The man, scooched a little bit closer to her. For some reason, he always does this. And she always seemed to forget to ask why.

As he looked straight ahead of him, "It's just the beginning of winter. In a few moments the lake will definitely freeze over." He talked, as if the lake wasn't already frozen and stuck to the brim.

She looked at him as if he knew what he was talking about.

The man stood tall broodingly, tall over her.

Almost excerpt to a giant, or as tall as a tree. As she casted a quick smile at him. She wished that there were swans swimming around the lake, as her head imagined it on her own, as there were almost to none as she could only see a couple of people skating.

Her eyes glazed, and she saw a man.

He was big. Definitely Russian with his coat and a tall, large figure. He skated.
He looked at her and smiled. He was eery, creepy, and everything wrong, and her cells screamed that everything was wrong with him.

He was definitely a vampire.

His eyes seemed normal as he looked at her. But he sent her uncomfortable, tingling demonized vibes which she would flung out of her in an instance. But she stood there frozen in her spot.

She was afraid he would flash her a scary grin again.

Even though this was a different person.

She took a careful step to the side, she needed to move. Her shoes involuntarily squeaked, and her front toes slipped, damn boots not able to carry her well-  on the ice plains that she slipped and her legs fell to the side, feeling her knees wobble, and she slipped and fell. Her body as if in slow motion, falling over and she crashed into his arms.

A heavy-residing, feeling of a bulk against his arms, and him looking down at her with a frown on his face.

Yup. She would definitely have chosen to fall on the ice ring itself, or maybe die instantly right then if it happened.

She felt her face flush. She couldn't help it. For the heavens of gravity, she would have chosen to fall and land on the ice plains itself. As she remembered her body swaying, and if she ever had any choices at all. She looked up from under him. She might have lost her balance, but she was definitely not insane.

It was not as if she told her blood rushing to come up and color her on the cheeks. And she was starting to get annoyed with herself. Her own, and maybe him as well.

And against him that he felt her warmth to seep, and of course, her light-weight that he could almost flung her into the sky and never see her again. He formed a small smile, smiling down at her, so long that if it was any other person, she would deem it as creepy. And a stalker. And hiding the rest of his intentions, Averithe narrowed her eyes at him. What the hell was he thinking in that small brained of his?

She signalled him to prop herself up and that he did, that he spoke, "Are you having a fever?"

"No." She said grumpily, turning away.

"You're glad I caught-"

"No, don't even speak of it." She mentioned with a stop. She didn't even forget to thank him.

And he silenced, maybe laughing at her like the baboon he is, casting his eyes away in front at the plain sight before him.

God-knows-where. As an alternative, she felt wave of a hot embarrassment creeping and surging up her cheeks like a whirlwind. It was surreal. She did not as for this. And she did not ask to just feel like a sack of potatoes against him
And against the frost of snowy weather that she was in, at the moment, she, of all people would know better than to make snow balls and throw it at him, if she could, she would. And if she were not in public, maybe she would drag him down the ice plains for some fun. Men and their strength..

It would make it more of a prominent, saving method for herself. Especially when he was this close to her. She peeked a glance at him to the side. He caught her almost in an instant, and she thought she saw something funny in his eyes. Funny.

But maybe it was the trick of the light.

Damn ice. Why aren't they beautiful and have a glow of blue on them today? Or any other natural colors like a flower could be?

She heaved a slow, long breath.

Not at him, of course. Just at her.

He frowned down. "Are you okay?"

"What, you think I'm not okay just by falling?" She scoffed, lightly, ignited a puff of cloud into the air. And that that maybe she noticed someone glanced her way.

Maybe she noticed of how embarrassing she was when she fell. She wished it was the man instead. Maybe she could get to save some face.

She breathed out, her attention on the boots she was wearing. She looked down. It was a thing he gave. A gift. A sudden, preposterous and rather forcing it on her two feet, that it felt more like a ton of stone boulders on her legs. Walking on the ground, and especially on the pads of snow. What was he thinking?

It was cream, colored, and tan at the edges. Normal looking, but it almost reached to her calves it was that much of a nuisance.

And it looked light, it just looked light. As the man gave it to her all of a sudden, with a reason that he bought it for her. And he set it down with much force, forcing her to sit, and putting it on like it was Cinderella's footing, a little bit too forcing, not caring about her protests and animosity coming out of her mouth. When it was done, he stood up with a satisfied grin on his face. Much of a T-rex  and a grinning piece of-

She couldn't describe a word. She didn't know any words that would perfectly describe it. That was a first.

Crazy man.

And it would be better if-

Suddenly Cain flashed a turn at her. And she froze.

'Damned man.'

"I checked out for us." He suddenly said.

Preposterous.

"What?"

"I knew that the hotel wasn't that much of a comfort to you. So I brought an idea and checked us out." He shrugged.

And.. what makes him think that she was thinking the same thing?

"How about my luggage?"

"It's in the car."

'Which car?'

"We'll be staying in this hotel for now." He spoke. She glanced once at the hotel of her side. And it almost brought a gape to her mouth. "Besides, it's a far more beautiful place and comfier to stay in."

Wasn't he supposed to stay and feel comfier at his own house?

"Why couldn't we stay at your house?"

"It's dusty, and I won't have time to clean it." He looked at her with a narrowed eyes towards her.

And here he thought; that he would think she was the one who was insane..

"Oh.." Was all she could say.

She was not protesting.

She felt extremely ecstatic that she could come in and see what was the inside of the hotel. Staying for the night, even. She felt that, the glittering, magical vibe from the place, and she wanted to burst. The hotel seemed like a replica out of disneyland. The lights looked like neons, colorful, and the size was huge, glittering off from the windows of the inner-lights, and far more beautiful than any decorative she'd ever seen.

Or as if she was imagining it, she  imagined the silver-coloring on the side edges seemed to invite her over and over again.

Even though dinner was far way better than this one, she supposed.

"Averithe.." He said slowly.

What now, did she get into trouble?

The fans of puffed clouds dissipating upwards that she didn't miss, as she stood closely, so close it could tingle, glad that he didn't do anything unnecessary.

He turned to her.

"Will you.. marry me?" He spoke loud, and clear.

And she did not hear that wrong.

She snapped abruptly, her eyes almost popping out of her sockets.

As it grabbed a few attention of the people as well, turning their heads at them. Can't a girl get some privacy?

Before Averithe could speak, he got down to one knee, and popped a red box, the ring open for her bare eyes to see.

It was beautiful. Definitely because of the frozen lake.

She gasped, "Cain, what are you..?"

"Please." His voice seemed earnest.

She ignored the passing eyes of people passerby, who stood to see the scene before them, some stood frozen on the ground, the lake as she clutched on the arm of the man. And some stood to a skid not further away from them.

"I would love you for the rest of your life. And cherish you. You are the love of my life and have ever loved you since. For now and forever."

That speech of his didn't fail to make her heart beat. Her blood churned in response as she felt her face glowed, and she didn't fail to see a gawking crowd covering at the entrance.

Damn people.

And to think, that she looked up and saw his glinting eyes. They looked.. sincere, the man she knew, was kneeling on one knee before her, not mentioning the crowd that was gathering.

It led her to her own that maybe he was too sincere as she saw the glisten and the glazing arrays beneath the midnight snow, and the sparkle of light in his eyes. He seemed too 'pure.'

"Yes." She spoke. Wait, who said that?

She swore, if it was-

"Yes?" He stood straight up.

She felt the inners of her warming up, warning her about this. But instead, the warmth spreaded upwards and outwards, spreading out. He involuntarily took her hands in his, kind of slowly, and slightly careful that it seemed, and slided the ring on her fourth finger, on her ring finger as it glistened under the moonlight.

And it was more beautiful than anything she'd ever seen in her entire life.

She knew she loved him.

She didn't care anymore, about anything else. All that matters was that the ring seemed to smile in response. Glowing below her eyes.

She glanced up. She wanted to rake her hands through his hair, and tell him not to look at her like that. It probably will look messy throughout the night. The wind blowing his hair in a away, as he smiled at her, his breath puffed up like clouds in the snow, evaporated into the air. And they exchanged smiles. She smiled at him, maybe she will be happy.

All she knew was right now she was feeling happier than ever.

All she knew was she loved this man.
And she couldn't forget.

'His eyes.'

As he looked down at her with his glistening eyes, and he loved her.

"So, do you want to do that skate you've always wanted to do?"

She put her hand in his. "Yes." She giggled.

And he practically dragged her.

And all hell break loose.
