~Chapter Eight.~

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No he does not!"

"Yes he does. I know these things. Trust me."

I sigh and shake my head. Gabe is too stubborn. "He does not like me." Gabe starts to say something, but I interrupt him "Even if he does, what would make you think that I would like Zack back?"

"Because he has such awesome hair. Or maybe his chocolate brown eyes. I bet it's because of perfect features on his face." He says making his voice high like a girl.

When he's finished with his 'fantasy', I try to give him my best disgusted look that I can make.

He furrows his eyebrows together. "What?"

I cross my arms over my chest and my lips pull up into a smirk. "I think you're the one with the crush, not me."

He stands there for a few seconds staring at me, then starts busting up laughing. I stand there looking at him confused but as he keeps laughing, his laughter becomes contagious so I start laughing with him.

After about five minutes later and several people giving us weird looks, Gabe wipes his tears away from his eyes and sighs.

"That-that was a good one. No I don't like him at ALL. But you do."

I groan and throw my head back. "Not this again."

Gabe opened his mouth but was stopped when the bell rang.

"Saved by the bell." I mutter.

Gabe points his pointer finger at me. "This isn't over with yet. We'll talk later."

I roll my eyes and push my glasses up. "Whatever Dad."

Gabe winks at me then turns around and walks down the hall to his science class.

I walk down to my Spanish class trying to dodge the people who were trying to push me into the lockers.

"Cómo estás Sophia?" My Spanish teacher Senora, Paulo asks me, when I enter the classroom

I smile at her "Estoy bien, Gracias." I don't know that much Spanish yet, but I do know that much.

"Tome su asiento."

I give her a confused look. "What?"

She laughs at me. "That means 'have a seat' Sophie" Senora, Paulo tells me in her heavily Spanish accent

I feel my face heat up. "Oh" I walk over to my seat in the first row and sit down.

"Buenas tardes clase." (good afternoon class) Senora, Paulo says. Some answer her, others just look confused.

"Buenas tardes Senora. Paulo." I say. I hear people snickering behind me.

Senora, Paulo smiles and walks in front of her desk "So, today we are going to learn the history of Spanish." Almost the whole class groans when she say this. "I know it's not your favorite thing but you're going to have to deal with it. Take out your books and turn to chapter five."

I reach down to take out my book out of my bag when I feel like someone is watching me. I look up and see that Ian Jones (Zack's best friend) is staring at me from the other side of the room.

I feel my cheeks flare up, I sit up in my chair, and push my glasses up, trying to ignore that he is still staring at me.

Halfway through class I feel a ball of paper hit my head. At first I don't think anything about it but when I feel it again I look up from the Spanish book I was reading and see Ian is pointing to the ball of paper.

I give him a questioning look but pick it up anyway.

'What did you do to Zack?' It read.

I read it again before I tear out a piece of paper from my notebook.

'What do you mean? I didn't do anything.' I wrote back, then handed to the person next to me when Senora, Paulo wasn't looking

Max, who was sitting next to me passed another piece of paper from Ian to me.

'Then why is he acting the way he is?'

I tear another piece of paper out from my notebook.

'Look, I didn't do anything. I don't even talk to him. How is he acting?'

I folded the paper and handed it to Max again.

He doesn't respond for a few minutes, and I thought he wasn't going to, but sure enough I felt another tap on my shoulder from Max.

'I don't know. He's just acting weird since the pool thing. You were there in the hallway when he blew up. So you have to know something.'

I sigh.

'I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.' I wrote, then handed it to Max.

I watch Ian as he reads my note. He opened it and rolled his eyes, then wrote something else down, but didn't get to finish it because the bell rang.

I put my book in my bag and walked out of the classroom.

I have seven minutes before the bus left so I had to hurry.

I walked/ran to my locker to put my books in it. I unlocked it and opened it when someone slammed it shut, just missing my fingers.

"Hello, freak."

I turned around and saw no one other then Brittney, the head cheer leader, and Zack's girlfriend for five months, standing less then ten inches away from me with her two clones behind her.

I took a step back, and my back hit my locker. "Hi." I said barely above a whisper

She bent down to where her head was right in front of mine. "Stay. Away. From. Zack. You got that creep?"

I nodded my head quickly. I wanted to say that I didn't even want Zack but kept my mouth shut.

She smiled a slow evil smile. "Good." She stood back up, away from me. "Girls, lets give her a taste of what will happen to her if she doesn't listen to me."

Both of her clones stepped forward towards me and grabbed my arms.

"No! Let me go! I didn't do anything!" I tried squirm out of their hold, and it was working.

"Brittney! We can't hold her!" Clone one said.

Brittney sighed and rolled her eyes. "Always have to do things yourself." She snapped her finger and two football players came around from the corner.

"You know what to do." She told them.

Both girls dropped me, and as soon as they did I tried to run but wasn't fast enough. The football players grabbed me.

"Stop there! What are doing?" We all turned around and Mr. Frank, our Principle walking towards us. The football players dropped me, and took a step back.

"Hello Sir." Brittney in her 'I'm an angel' voice."How are you today?"

"What was going on here?" He asked her.

"Oh, We were-we were playing a...game."

Mr. Frank didn't look convinced. "A game? It didn't look like a game to me. Detention for all of you starting tomorrow."

Brittney looked like she was going to faint. "What? Even me? I have cheer leading practice tomorrow!"

"Yes. All of you. And if you don't show up, you will have to have kitchen duties for a month."

Brittney huffed and walked away with her clones following her.

"Good day children. Mr. Frank said to us, and walked away.

Great, now I have detention. What is my mom going to say?
