~Chapter Nineteen.~

The car ride there was pretty much me just listening to Zack talk. I so much just wanted to tell him to shut up, but I bit my tongue.

"-So, then she came up to me with a big teddy bear, and told me that she wanted me to ask her out, and-" Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and blah.

The good thing about this, is that I can tell him honestly how much I hated this date.

"Sophie, are you even listening?" Zack asked me, interrupting my thoughts.

I frowned at him. "No." Then looked out the widow.

He sighed. "Princess, how are you even going to enjoy the date, if you don't even give me a chance?"

I didn't say anything, just crossed my arms over my chest.

"Fine...be that way." Zack mumbled. "Don't you even want to know where we're going?"

I shrugged and continued staring at the window. "I could care less."

I couldn't see what he was doing, but I could picture him rolling his eyes at me. "Whatever."

I laughed at him in my head. 'What a brat.'

About ten minutes later, of us just listening to music, we pulled into some empty parking lot. It looked creepy and dead. I looked at him with my eyebrows raised.

"Where are we?"

He smirked. "I thought you could care less."

I frowned. "Well, I care if you're a serial murderer, and is here to kill me, then hide my dead body in those woods over there." I nodded my head over to the woods that is behind the parking lot.

Zack laughed loudly. "that's a good one!" He pretends like he's wiping away tears from his eyes, then looks at me. "No, I'm not going to kill you. But, if you give me a chance, you could really have fun tonight." He says, looking sincere.

I think for a minute. What would it hurt to have fun for one night?

My shoulders drop in defeat and I see Zack's smile grow. "Okay." I sigh. "What are we going to do?"

He reaches in the back seat and pulls out roller skates. "I heard you've never roller skated before." Gabe. I'm going to kill him! "So, I'm going to teach you!"

I stare blankly at him then look at the dark, empty parking lot in front of me, then back at him. "And...you're going to teach me here?"

Zack nods his head proudly.

I continue staring  blankly at him. "And at.." I look at my watch. "Eight at night?"

He smiles. "Of course. What's wrong with that?"

I laugh. "Oh, nothing..." Just that I've never skated before, You're going to teach me how to in a empty, deserted, dark, spooky, parking lot, that I've never been to before, and we won't be able to see so we might trip over sticks, garbage, and junk and break our bones. Yeah, nothing is wrong with that.

Zack laughs. "You think to much, Soph. You have to learn to go with the flow." I roll my eyes at the sentence.

"You sound like a hippie."

He puts his hand on his heart and acts like he's in pain. "I don't know whether I should take that as a complement or a insult."

I laugh and open my mouth to say something, but Zack interrupts me. "Did you just laugh? Did the, Little Miss Serious, just laugh? "

I blush.

Wait. Did I just blush?

"I laugh all the time." I tell him.

He shakes his head. "Not in front of me, you don't."

I frown. "That's because you aren't around me a lot."

He smiles. "That's why we're here." He opens his car door and takes his tennis shoes off then looks at me. "Well, don't just sit there." He throws a pair of skates on my lap. "Put 'em on."

I shake my head at him and take off my tennis shoes then examines the skates.

"Need help?"

I look up, and see Zack standing graciously in front of me, on his skates.

"No, I got it."  I tell him confidently.

He smirks. "Okay...if you say so." He slowly backs up.

I put my attention back on the skates and puts them on my feet and ties the laces.

'Okay, Sophie...You can do this!' I tell myself as I start to stand up. 'This isn't bad.' I smirk at Zack. "See, I told you I don't need your help." I take a step and lose my balance and fall on my butt.

"Ow!" I start to stand up again, but my feet slip and slide on the concrete and I fall on my butt again. I rub my butt and look up to see, Zack leaning against the car, cracking up laughing and I frown. "It's not funny."

Zack tries to say something, but he's laughing so hard, he ends up falling on his butt too. I grab my stomach and laugh loudly.

This time he frowns. "Shut up."

I keep laughing and he gets up and stands in front of me. "I said shut up, princess."

I look up at him and raise me eyebrows. "Or what?"

He smirks. "Or I'll tickle you."

I furrow my eyebrows together. "Has Gabe been talking to you?"

Something flashes in Zack's eyes and he scratches the back of his neck. "Noooo..."

"Uh-hu..." I say unconvinced. "Why would you talk to Gabe?"

Zack blushes.

He's cute when he blushes.

What?! Why'd I think that?!

"Because," He smiles shyly. "I wanted to make this date perfect...I really like you, Soph."
