Vienna was watching the fire works organised by the Giovanni family in the front gardens of the mansion. She was standing in a balcony with the other girls watching as she saw her parents were in the garden grounds talking to other adults and drinking. It was almost midnight. She was glad they were allowed to stay longer. She enjoyed the party after a long week in school full of most of her exams.

Once the fireworks finished, Clarisa suggested " Should we go somewhere and play a game."

The other girls nodded and shrugged. Clarisa lead them down corridors " Let's go to my room that I use when I stay with my grandparents."

As they were walking behind Clarisa, Vienna became mesmerised by the decorations in the corridors. There were plenty of family portraits. A lot of pictures included Tristan from the time he was a baby to his high school days. In all pictures, his grandfather was always there next to him standing proudly. Vienna didn't see any pictures with Tristan's father. They really hated him. However, Vienna managed to find one picture of Tristan next to his father. It was a family portrait. The O'Neil family and Giovanni family were there. Tristan's grandpa O'Neil was at his one side and his grandpa Giovanni at another side. She didn't know how they were managing to gather together. That was rare. Clarisa told her sometimes her father invited both sides of the family to his home without telling them who was coming and then the two families had to endure each other.

She smiled at his next picture. A handsome portrait. Tristan was standing with his air of authority and elegance around him in a recent picture. She couldn't stop looking.  at his image.

She then suddenly heard his voice from behind her "You like this picture?"

Vienna turned around startled looking at Tristan as she put her hand on her hear " Oh, you scared me." She then looked around. She was not in the corridor anymore. As she had been looking at the pictures she had taken a bend into a large room full of paintings and portraits " Where are the girls? Are they gone?"

Tristan thought to himself " You make me jealous of girls when they spend time with you and I don't. I never thought it was possible ... to be jealous of girls with you." He smiled " The girls are gone. Yes." He was glad the girls were gone. Now he had her all to himself.

Vienna smiled back nervously " I should go..." She then side stepped Tristan who was looking at her with amusement. She walked past him and then realised the entrance was the other way as she just saw walls all around where she was standing. She turned around and looked at Tristan who was standing in direction of the door. She walked slowly towards him. As she was a step away from him about to walk past him, he stated " Don't go yet... can we talk?"

Vienna breathed " Your sister is waiting for me with the others...."

Tristan stated " They will manage."

Vienna decided it was not the time to speak to him. Being alone with him made her nervous and she fancied him at the same time. It was not a good combination. While they had been dancing she could feel her cheeks heating up. It felt so hot to be so close to him. Now she though she had enough contact with him for one day. She reminded herself who he was.

So Vienna shook her head " I need to go find your sister and the other girls."

Vienna walked past him and approached the door. To her relief he didn't stop her. She walked alongside the corridor trying to find Clarisa's room. She heard his footsteps behind her. She stopped and turned around " Are you following me?"

Tristan shrugged " They have changed the decorations and have moved some rooms around... I don't want you to get lost. My grandpa's mansion is massive."

Vienna was willing to do anything to avoid him " I will find the room. I don't want to trouble you."

Vienna then walked away but heard him say " Oh. It's no trouble at all to follow you. Trust me. It's a pleasure." His words were said with such intensity and meaning behind each word that Vienna shivered. Why did he have to sound so attractive just by talking so simply. His words scared her because he talked with so much possessiveness but he sounded so beautiful.

Vienna recognised a door as clarisas room and turned to Tristan " I found her room. Thanks...."

Vienna then soundly opened the door forcefully and ran inside as she was desperate to join her friends. She then froze as she walked in. As fast as she had come in, she wanted to leave. This was Tristan's room at his grandpa Giovannis house. She could tell because, she recognised his clothes and also the wall papers were orange. That was his favourite colour. Oranges meant death in Tristan's and Vincenzo's group. Vincenzo also had orange wall papers in his room.

Vienna quickly turned around to leave but she saw Tristan entering the room blocking the door.

Vienna spoke " Sorry about this... I am going to go."

Tristan gave her a mischievous smile as he effortlessly closed the door and leaned on the closed door before she could even take a step forward.

Vienna stuttered " Tristan. What are you going to do? Can I go?."

Tristan pretended to think " Let me see. You are in my room without permission... if you wish to leave this room you have to answer a few questions. Then you can go."

Vienna didn't like this idea. She was desperate to avoid him. He asked tough questions and you couldn't lie to him. It couldn't be easy to answer his questions. She preferred not being alone. She preferred having a escape route "Open the door Tristan...."

Tristan stated " No. I need to talk to you... once I finish asking questions and only once I am satisfied you are giving me answers I need then you can go.... Firstly,.... tell me, what did Trent do at the party. You seemed upset after talking to him."

Vienna looked around the room hoping for another room to escape but found none.

Tristan took a step closer to her " I take your hesitation as a sign that he said something really bad...." He wasn't going to like that if his brother messed with his girl. There were boundaries. There were lines Trent wasn't allowed to cross. Tristan wondered if his brother had done that.

Vienna gasped and looked up " No. He didn't say anything bad... we were talking about you."

Tristan took another step forward " What did he say about me?"

Vienna sighed " He said I should be dancing more with you..."

Tristan chuckled " That's my brother. The hopeless romantic. It's good you listened to him." He got a dance from Vienna so he didn't have much to complain about.

Vienna took s deep breath. She only spoke the truth " I ... wanted to dance with you more.... we were interrupted..."

Tristan smiled " I am happy to hear that.... what else did Trent say?"

Vienna was hoping he didn't want her to tell him more. Why couldn't he give up. He had a bad feeling talking about someone else to Tristan. Vienna declared in an honest tone her worries " Tristan ... I don't like this... I don't like talking about someone else who isn't here..."

Tristan frowned " Vienna. I haven't asked you to disclose to me anything unreasonable. Is it too much to ask to know what you heard about me? I don't think so. I am not anyone... I am in love with you... You should trust me... But fine if you can't trust me, I will have to make you trust me... But let me ask you this...when water is flowing on the ground, can you block it forever and ever."

Vienna wasn't sure where Tristan was going with this. She shrugged " Perhaps ... If you throw an obstacle."

Tristan spoke " That obstacle can not last forever. The water would push it away with enough pressure and besides you know what they say about water... . The water would find its way in some other way to the other side always. If you block me Vienna, I will get what I want another way. Have no doubt. So never hide anything from me, no matter how unimportant it is because when I find out the truth from another source, I won't be happy..."

Vienna gulped " Are you threatening me?" She felt the hidden threat there clearly.

Tristan almost wanted to laugh " Threaten you with what? No. I am threatening who ever or whatever you try to protect. I would have thought it was obvious. I said I never hurt you so many times now. Haven't I? Now tell me what else Trent said? Remember, I am like the water flowing on the ground. If I want to get somewhere , I will. You can throw rocks in my way but I would bypass them."

Vienna thought back to his words " He thought it was a good idea I carried on dancing since I could. He missed Azurine. You know se is absent..."

Tristan nodded " I am, fully aware of his girl not being invited here tonight. ..... What else did he say. I will ask him myself if you don't tell me how he upset you. So far nothing disturbing has been said. Why did you look upset then? But fine .... I will ask Trent myself what he said then. If you can't give me straight answers, I will get them from elsewhere."

Vienna had to find out with it. She didn't have a choice "He mentioned your business and how you would inherit so much... "

Tristan asked " So he told you about my business. Is that what upset you. I thought he said something worse... You are in my world so you know how it goes Vienna..."

Vienna tried to explain " Well, I guess I felt bad for you. But I guess I was feeling bad for Trent too because Azurine was not here..."

Tristan said "Well, Trent will manage: If you are worried what's happening to Trent could happen to us, then don't dress. In my case failure is not an option Vienna and neither is in my brothers case. He would find a way to date an Irish girl even if my grandfather doesn't like it much.... I wouldn't stand for it either if I wasn't allowed to get close to you... O'Neils get what they aim for... Always.... Let's say If your mother ever uninvited me like how Azurine is uninvited here, then I will find another way to get to you. Think of how when you block the path of a water  running on  the ground... Your mother can't stop me. I will get what I want."

Vienna was shocked " Tristan .... Where is this coming from?"

Tristan stated "I think you know...."

Vienna was torn " why did you mention my mother?"

Tristan explained " She kept giving you and I a look that I didn't like... we were dancing and she wasn't happy to see us together.... That was my next question for you to tell me why is that? Why does she hate me?"

Vienna stated " She doesn't hate you. She doesn't like me dating criminals. She hates criminals. Not you... "

Tristan sighed " Do you hate criminals too?"

Vienna shook her head and spoke honestly " I don't have to answer this question... it doesn't bother me..."

Tristan spoke " I can turn my businesses legitimate one day... I can try... would that be good enough for you... I know it's too far away in the future but I will marry you one day... when I do, I would do anything to make you happy... if you hate me for being a criminal I will change. It may take me a lifetime to do it and will take sacrifices but I will do it..."

Vienna sighed and looked at Tristan with worry in her eyes " I don't want to talk about it Tristan. It doesn't matter. I don't care... I said it doesn't bother me..."

Tristan stated " Just tell me what you think honestly..."

Vienna turned to him " I don't care Tristan. I don't even know what I think. I don't want to think about it... I am a criminal myself. My father is a criminal. How can I hate criminals?... I am a Rosario whether I like it or not..... But what you say about us .... It's too far away in future as you said... what matters to me now is you don't hurt people because of me just because you think they said something bad and you don't think of my mother that way... She doesn't hate anyone. I don't care if you are a criminal..."

Tristan took a deep breath " That wasn't so hard. Was it." He then turned around and opened the door " Relax Vienna. I won't ask any more questions for now. You need a break." It wasn't his intention to stress her out. He just wanted to talk to her. It was ironic how he enjoyed their alone talks and she didn't by the looks of it. What was she so afraid of? They were just talking. Why did she look so fearful?

Vienna smiled politely " Thank you." She then walked out and made her way down the corridor.

Tristan stated " Wait. You are going the wrong way. Let me show you the way."

Just then Vienna turned to a room where she heard Letizia's voice " They are here."

Tristan walked towards her " No they are not. The boys are there."

Vienna raised an eyebrow as she turned to him " Letizia is there." She then entered the room.

Tristan muttered " She is no lady exactly. Is she?"

Vienna was shocked to find the boys sitting around a massive table playing poker in teams. There was Viggo and Stefano on one team. Vincenzo and Letizia were on another. Then there was Sebastiano and Alexander. Trent was his own team since he normally played with Tristan. The boys froze and looked at her.

Before Vienna could say anything, Vincenzo turned " Come sit Vienna. Of Letizia can play tonight, so can you I guess." He looked past at Tristan who just closed the door " Point taken."

Tristan sighed " She came to the wrong room. She doesn't even know how to play poker. You never taught her."

Vincenzo shrugged " I never knew she would end up with you... We all must know what poker is since it makes us money in casinos. Pull up a chair Vienna. You are on Tristan's team. Trent joins Stefano and Viggo. About time too. Stefano doesn't know what poker is."

As Tristan pulled up a chair for Vienna, she walked slowly to the seat. She never saw the point of poker. The boys never played over money since they were wealthy. They played over nothing but they tainted the loser always. They just played for fun to be prepared in case someone amongst their clients did challenge them.

She felt Tristan next to him who whispered " Don't worry. We won't let Vincenzo win all the chips."

Sebastiano laughed " He is in a bad mood. He wanted a kiss from Letizia and she didn't give it to him when they were dancing. Better luck next time Vincenzo getting her first kiss. You came close."

Letizia made a face to Sebastiano " It is none of your business when I give away my first kiss."

Vincenzo looked up at Sebastiano " At least I have a girl. Where is yours?" He then kicked him from under the table.

Vienna couldn't believe where she was sitting. Right in the middle of a bunch of egoistic males ready to show of.

Alexander spoke " New chips then. Give the chips back, man."

There was a mountain of chips in front of Vincenzo. He sighed " I will get them back again. He then divided the chips.

Vienna sighed. They were going to be there for a while. Tristan's words played in her mind... if he wanted something he got it. He wanted to spend time with her and he got it even by pure luck and when he wasn't even trying. So if he even tried he could have much more which said yo Vienna he must have been not even trying and getting so much.
