Vienna was walking down the stairs of the hotel. Her mother had helped her get ready and now her mother had gone back to her room to wait to leave with her father. It was almost time to leave.

As Vienna reached the bottom of stairs, she froze. She saw Tristan standing there with authority like a Roman emperor hands in his pockets staring at her as he was leaning to the wall opposite the set of stairs. It was as though he had been expecting her. He had a brand new suit that really suited him. His grandparents spoiled him with the latest fashion. But he was as handsome as always with or without that suit. What stood out the most were his possessive pair of eyes staring at her. He gave her a smile "Good morning Vienna."

Vienna breathed "Good morning ..." She wanted to walk away towards the exit to the carpark's direction. She wanted to move. But she couldnt. His piercing possessive eyes told her not to leave him. She was attracted towards him but when he looked at her like she was the only one in the room it made it hard to walk away from him for any reasons. The look in his eyes was not threatening. It was promising. He seemed slightly on edge too

Vienna cleared her throat. She decided to question him against her better judgement. She wasnt sure if she was going to like the answer "Is everything alright? You seem abit... on edge?"

Tristan walked towards her slowly "Vienna... Of course I have been on edge..... I have been thinking of you.... I have been waiting for you..." He was now standing in front of her "I wanted to ask you a question and have been hoping for an affirmation... Tell me.... Do you mind coming with me to the church?"

Vienna was looking up into his eyes with questioning eyes "But we are all going to the same church. Arent we?"

Tristan explained "We are... But I want you to come with me... I want you to hold my hand and sit with me in the car and also sit alongside the O'Neils and Giovannis at the church... Is that alright?"

Vienna shook her head "I always sit with my family... My parents wouldnt like that."

Tristan argued "They won't mind... I spoke to your father."

Vienna gasped "You have?"

Tristan nodded as he smiled weakly "Yes. I went to his room just now. He had come out of the shower and was soaking wet. He told me my timing for making requests is like my father. But he said it is ok if you say yes. If you want to accompany me, you are allowed to... So will you come with me?"

Vienna couldnt say no. She found herself unable to refuse him anything when he was looking at her like that and she didnt want to let him down when he was about to go on a long trip after breakfast. So she smiled "Ok..." But she was nervous. Alot of families of allies were persent at the church today. She was always used to sitting with her family.

Tristan offered his hand for her to take wordlessly. Vienna took his hand and Tristan visibly relaxed as he took a deep breath. It satisfied him that his girl said yes to him after so long being away from him. He was worried their relationship could suffer because of this trip but she seemd to still not mind him enough to agree to go to a public place like the church with him and let him hold her hand in public. Tristan smiled and lead Vienna to the exit of the building. He lead her to the car park and one of the black tinted window cars. He opened the door for her to get inside.

Just then, As Vienna got inside, Vincenzo spotted them and called out " Vienna. Where are you going?"

Tristan smiled at Vienna " You sit in the car while I speak to him. Alright?" He then closed the door and turned to the direction of Vincenzo who was standing next to one of the Rosario cars. Tristan shrugged " Your father gave permission for Vienna to accompany me to the church. Do you have any objections?"

Vincenzo narrowed his eyes as he heard the challenge in his voice. He made his way towards him.

Tristan also made his way towards Vincenzo.

Vienna was watching them worriedly but she knew they weren't going to fight. This was a Giovanni hotel. They had to behave.

Vincenzo reached Tristan and stood in front of him. He spoke in a low tone " You are staking your claim. You want the allies out there to see she belongs to you. Am I right?"

Tristan put his hands on his hips " She is mine and she always will be. Every one will know eventually..."

Vimcenzo shook his head " Tristan... You are pushing this far... Going to church is abit taking it too far... This is a family event. You need to let my sister breathe...." He didn't want Vienna to be pressured. This was his baby sister and she was under the grip of the raging bull now. Even at church she was not free to be with her family.

Tristan argued " She doesn't mind coming with me.... Well, she will be seeing this church a lot from now on. This is an offical place. All baptisms happen there.... All Giovannis and O'Neils also marry at this church. This is just not any church."

Vincenzo looked thoughtful " So its a tradition that your people marry at that church? huh? ... Now I see why your father was joking with my father yesterday that it's good practice walking down the aisle for future when he was trying to convince my father to attend this church service. So it's practice for your father too, for walking Terza down the aisle to her man."

Clarisa who was overhearing the conversation from a distance walked closer " I certainly hope not Vincenzo... Boys are vile... No way... I doubt I end up walking down any aisle..."

Tristan turned to his sister and his expression softened " Thats my sister. She doesnt like boys..."

Vincenzo looked at her sharply "What do you mean Terza? You have to get married..."

Tristan asked "What is your problem Vincenzo? If my sister doesnt want a man, she doesnt have to have one."

Vincenzo ignored him and stated "You will get married at that church Terza. I would have a front row seat.... Do you want to make a bet Terza?" He then thought to himself "I bet you we could marry on the same day at the same church...."

Clarisa sighed " Vincenzo.... I bet you will never marry.... Who would want to marry you? Excuse me, I should go sit in the car..."

Tristan nodded "My sister has a point." He then turned around and walked away leaving Vincezno alone.

As Clarisa made her way to the car, she heard Vincenzo call out "Wait, Terza." Then as she reached the car, she found Vincenzo in front of her as she was about to get in. She asked "Yes, Vincenzo."

Vincenzo spoke "What you said back there is not acceptable... You have to get married one day Terza. You cant live alone..."

Clarisa sighed "Vincenzo... I really dont wish to discuss this with you..."

Vincenzo stated "So just because I said someone who is your brother's equal will get you one day has you scared... Come on Terza... There is no need to be scared..."

Clarisa gasped and looked away "I am not scared..." She was confused why Vincenzo sounded like he actually was bothered by what she had said. She was just making a random statement. She couldnt predict the future. But what he has said was partly true. She was abit scared. He knew her well. She wasnt normally intimidated like this by a talk but something behind his words scared her. It sounded real when he talked about a man who was going to fight for her. It felt so real.

Vincenzo replied "Really? I think you are... But you dont have a reason to be scared... Your man will never hurt you no matter how powerful or authoritative he might be...."

Clarisa looked up "How do you know?"

Vincenzo searched her eyes as he stared at her " You are protected Terza. Dont ever forget who you are... You are a Giovanii-O'Neil.... No one can hurt you ..."

Clarisa shrugged "But he can be more powerful...."

Vincenzo replied "Either way, I have a feeling your man would be descent and honourable... I have a feeling, your man will never break your heart even if you break his... He wouldn't be your man otherwise." He then walked away leaving Clarisa to think over his words. She only could have such conversations with Vincenzo. It was so ironic. She found him to be arrogant and firm but he was caring when it came to her. She had a bond with Vincenzo... Something tied them together and she didnt know what it was. He always teased her and they were joking around most of the time but Vincenzo sensed when she was distressed and did show her a caring side. He knew when to stop just like how she didnt push him when he was not in the state to be messed with and challneged. Something in his words gave her hope. She hoped he was right.

Vincenzo walked away to his car and leaned to the bonnet while glancing at Tristan and Vienna. He wished he could ask Clarisa to sit next to him at church. The Marcianos were not attending that day so he couldnt even ask Clarisa. But he really wanted to sit next to Clarisa. This was all for Vitale. He had no regrets at agreeing to protect Letizia for his cousin. Vitale was blood. It didnt matter what Vincenzo got in return. He was never going to turn his back to his blood. It was hard for people to imagine. He had high expectations of his siblings and blood relatives. He pushed them hard but he loved them and was willing to die for them.

Tristan held Vienna's hand as he was sitting next to her in the car. He was looking at Vincenzo. He had seen his exchange with his sister that had left him baffled... He couldnt understand why Vincenzo was acting the way he was. His sister had only stated a simple fact expressing her distate about boys like she always did but it seemed to send Vincenzo to serious mode today. Maybe he was jealous he couldnt have his own girl at the church since the Marcianos were keeping their daughter away for now from Franecsco Rosario hoping she didnt offend him again. Wise move on their part.

Eventually the cars were filled up in the next ten minutes and the families made their way to church finally. The ride to church was in silence in the car for Tristan and Vienna. It was nerveracking for Vienna to be sitting away from her family. The cars stopped in front of the church and Tristan took Vienna's hand in his as they got off the car.

Adele was holding Francesco's hand as she got off her car watching her daughter and Tristan walk inside the church with the Giovannis and O'Neils. She whispered "You let him take our daughter to church."

Francesco smiled at her and lead her towards the church's entrace as the Rosarios followed "Sweetheart. It is her decision. Our children are protected by us but they have choices."

Adele didnt like how Tristan was showing the whole world their daughter was his. He was his father's son. He was daring just like O'Neil. He took risks. He took initiatives. He had methods like no other to get what he wanted. He had showed up at their hotel room asking Francesco for permisison. No one else would have dared disturb him in his hotel room. Nothing could be worth so much to risk angering Francesco. But of course to Tristan this trip to church was worth it.

They entered the church and the priest started the mass. "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

The people in church said in unison "Amen."

The service went smoothly and then it was time to go.

Adele was too focused on saying prayers as they were walking towards the exit while Francesco was recalling his memories. He was recalling when he was younger and he went to church with his uncle Piero. He remembered the few weeks he had been in Oklahoma and attending church with Adele. He recalled how he was never allowed to sit with her. He never had the choice. But now his children had choices in life and could have what he never had and what he only dreamt of having. He looked at his sons who were walking alongside him. He was proud of them. He hoped he had done enough to protect and prepare them. Part of him felt like his days could be numbered.

Death could come one day and when it did, Francesco knew that his children had to take on the world. But he had no intention of dying without a fight. He looked forward to fighting and taking on challenges but alongside it he appreciated the simplest moments of his life. At that moment he looked forward to having breakfast in bed with his wife when they returned to the hotel.

Francesco could see how the other families glanced at Tristan and his family. Presence of Vienna has sent the message that she was protected by O'Neils and Rosarios too. He agreed with Adele who believed Tristan was sending a message out but he actually saw it in the young man's eyes that he was genuinely intersted in accompanying his daughter to a church service. It was not a crime. Attending church with your whole family was rare but when it took place, it was an important occassion. Nothing mattered more than family and the moments that were shared with them. He noticed the way he looked at his daughter. He wished he could grab his neck and snap it for looking at his daughter like she belonged to him but he couldnt. If Tristan was any other boy, he would have. Tristan was honourable. you could not fault him.

Tristan could feel Francesco's eyes on him. His words were on his mind. Francesco had warned "I am watching you young man." The drive back to the hotel was also silent. But then it was time for breakfast. As they got off the car in the car park, Tristan lead Vienna towards the Junior cafeteria. The adults went to the senior cafeteria for breakfast. The kids self service breakfast had other options. Tristan and Vienna walked to the food counters to choose what they wanted.

Vincenzo walked to the soda dispenser as he was watching Terza getting herself a magazine from the newspaper stand. He walked to her " What are you getting for breakfast? A cars magazine?"

Clarisa turned to him "Well. Its my hobby to study cars. Is that not allowed in your book just like art?"

Vincenzo frowned "Dont go there Terza... Cars are allowed. Art is allowed too but not when it wastes time..."

Clarisa asked "Whats your hobby Vincenzo?" She was dreading the reply. What could be his hobby. Skinning people probably.

Vincenzo shrugged "My hobby is protecting my family..."

Clarisa sighed "What kind of hobby is that?"

Vincenzo spoke "The definition of a hobby is something that you enjoy doing. I enjoy protecting my blood by any means necessary. So you can say my hobby is shooting, archery, self defence, knife making... There is more..."

Clarisa sighed " Stop... But seriously you need to be nicer to artists. Your sister likes to go to this art fair after the prom but she didnt sign up because you threatened to burn the place down if she goes...."

Vincenzo replied " There is a business fair too. Why doesnt she sign upto that one? ..."

Clarisa replied " You know attending a fair is not a big deal. Stop being a jerk to your sister."

Vincenzo narrowed his eyes "I am not a jerk..."

Clarisa asked "Prove it then... Let her go to the fair. If she wants to choose to study art one day and you disagree, then convince her the civil way you want other options for her... Just dont act like a jerk Vincenzo. It doesnt suit you..."

Vincenzo nodded "ok. I will take back my threat. But I am not so againt art... Art on its own doesnt give you power " He then reached into his pocket and took out a box "I got it for you."

Clarisa spoke "For me."

Vincenzo nodded "Yes. Its from Rome." He then walked away.

Clarisa opened the box. It was a necklace with pattern of the Rome Colosseum on a locket.
