JEREMY

I know your all thinking why a children's teacher?We'll it's simple I love children. People seem to think otherwise from my heavily tattooed structure but I adore kids.

But I guess I should give a little inside info on who "Jeremy Thomas" really is before this chapter actually begins right? I thought so too.

I was born in Fulham,London.My mother and father are Joshua and Mary Thomas,I have two siblings Jennifer and Samuel. Jennifer is a shy yet lovable twenty-six year old librarian who has a husband named Max who is a firefighter and a seven year old boy named Zack.

Samuel is my eighteen year baby brother who I love with all my heart and would die for.He has down syndrome and a heart pacemaker which likes to fail every once in while.He's like my best friend, being older then him it was my job to protect him and it still is and if anyone has a problem with him can deal with me.

Anyway, I have a small black pugg named Ink.He thinks he's the man of the house from time to time,but he's been with me ever since I moved here and is well man's best friend.

I had an ex-girlfriend who really helped my decision in coming here easier.She cheated on me with my best friend Chad.Evelyn is also crazy,no when I say crazy I mean like stalker crazy.

Chad is to love struck to care, all that matters to him is that he has her. She would call my house almost every night, come to where ever I was working and scare the models. Oh by the way I used to be a model back in London. But anyway, enough was enough I changed my number and all my info that I knew she knew was also changed. I even bought my parents and Jennifer a new place,can't be to sure.Then high tailed it here.

As for my tattoos, they express my creativity,my culture and the things I like. It's easier just to count which parts are covered.I have a variety of them everywhere including Buddhist mandalas, punk rocker Ian Dury and surrealist painter Salvador Dali.My favorite tattoo? Morrissey from The Smiths. I’m still in hope [that] I am his secret love child.

But that was a little synopsis into my life or my background for the book let's just actually start the chapter.

Omniscient (third person )

Jeremy was in his classroom looking through the children in his classrooms homework when he came across sticky note.It read:

Remembering how polite and yet relaxed she was aside from the other mother's who were drooling over him made him smile.The way she cheered her daughter on instead of being on her phone like these other parents nowadays just made her stand out.

Even as he was teaching he couldn't help but chuckle as she joined in when the class participated in certain activities.

He seemed off today as to why she didn't pick up Elisabeth today, instead her grandmother came and said she had work reassuring him.

Breaking out of his thoughts with the yellow paper in his hand he picked up the phone and called her hoping it wasn't to late.

Destiny on the other hand was tucking in an all tuckered out Elizabeth who had a mother daughter movie night watching and singing along to Frozen,making sure to ask her mommy when it snows,"does she want to build a snowman?"

Smiling at the thought,she put Lizzy in her bed pulling her princess Tiana covers over her and turning on her Ariel nightlight walking into the kitchen to clean up when her phone rang.

Who could be calling me at this time?She thought searching throughout her pocketbook which Lacy calls a suitcase because "she has almost everything in there but the kitchen sink."

Finally finding her phone and had seen it was from an unknown number she was stuck on if she should answer or not. Sighing in defeat she answered with a yawn saying. "Hello,who is this?"

"Hello Destiny?This is Jeremy, Elizabeth's teacher we met the other day."Answered a raspy voice which caused a shiver to go up her spine.

With her eyes glazing over to the right remembering who she was actually talking to with the phone wedged between her shoulder and ear as she washed the dishes she replied saying.

"Oh yea,I remember.Did something happen with Elisabeth?"she asked worried as to why he was calling.

"On no!I was just wondering are you coming to the parent meeting a week from now?"He said reassuring her glancing at his calendar making up a reason as to why he was calling not just to hear the sound of her voice.

"Yea i'll just -shit!"She said as her phone dropped to the floor.She quickly picked it up making sure it wasn't damaged and that Jeremy was still on the phone.

"Hello?"she said hopping he didn't hang up on her.

A deep chuckle rendered through the phone as he replied saying."Yea i'm still here.Drop your phone?"

She let out a small smile and laugh of her own as if it were contagious with a playful sarcastic gasp."I did not,I-i just stubbed my toe."

Stuttering really? She thought to herself.

"People who stutter are either lying or are nervous.I know your not lying to me, so I must make you nervous. Do I make you nervous Destiny?"He said testing her, he knew she was lying but imagining her getting flustered and blushing as he did that day in class amused him.

The way he rolled her name off his tongue made he want to melt right there as she stood holding-no griping the broom as his words made her stop sweeping,with the phone back in it's wedged position in between her shoulder and ear.

As blush crept on her face she answered saying."N-no and plus i'm not lying."she said clearly still lying.

"Alright goodnight Destiny."he said waiting for her to finish so he could go to bed happy.

"Goodnight Jeremy-godamit again!"she said as she dropped her phone again.

Omg again! She thought as she questioned if he was still there pressing the phone to her ear saying."Hello, Jeremy?"

He laughed saying."Goodnight Destiny, and watch where your going. Don't wanna stub your toes."Then hung up.

Destiny stood trying to contain the smile on her face as that's the first time in a long while that she has went to bed with a smile in her face.

Ever since last night I have had a permanent smile on my face which didn't seem to want to go away.

The way he intrigues me, the way he laughs.The way he made me laugh,I haven't really laughed that much and been flustered so much at the same time.Lizzy seemed to notice too as I hummed a random tune on our way to school.

"Mommy are you okay?"she asked furrowing her little eyebrows.

I laughed saying."Of coarse baby, why is something wrong with me?"

She shrugged and said."Nope,just asking."Taking out one of her Barbies I kept in the car just incase she got bored.

When we got to her class I felt nervous, like a teenager about to awkwardly say hi to her crush.Maybe I am.

Jeremy opened the door greeting us with a warm smile saying."Goodmorning Lizzy and Destiny."

Then looked at Elisabeth and said."Go to your seat and get started on your work from yesterday,I'll be there in a minute."

She nodded waving 'bye' and I waved back then turned my attention to Jeremy who was leaning against the door looking like a model straight out of a magazine.

"Did you stubb your toes anymore lastnight after I hung up?"I said with a small smile appearing on his face.

I laughed shaking my head 'no'saying. "No I didn't, I'll see you later when I pick Elizabeth up."

Mommy seems happier. I like what ever is going on.I really liked when she was humming in the car.She used to sing me before I went to bed,maybe I can ask her to do it today.
