Fere's POV

" Mr. and Mrs Hernandez, please come in."

"Hi I'm Dra. Jeen, I am a pediatrician, Dr. Kay already discussed to me your son's situation. I asked the lab to rush the results as per your request Sir."

"Your son has a mild congenital heart disease, don't worry Mam, this is curable. We have a lot of modern technology nowadays, it's as good as fever when cured. Pero dahil he is too young I won't suggest he undergo surgery yet. We can wait until his 7th or 8th to proceed. For now, I'll give him meds that should be taken religiously."

"And also, his lungs are weak. That cause his hardships on breathing. Based on the results he often encounter asphyxia. This is is a condition of severely deficient supply of oxygen to the heart . We still need to test him on this. But I know a specialist who can help us with this. He is actually very good at this. He surely can cure your son. He'll be coming in later. I'll ask the nurse to call you once he's in."

After namin makausap si Dra Jeen bumalik na kami ni Yuseff sa kwarto ni Yugi. He's still asleep now siguro dahil madaming naiturok na gamot sa kanya pamula pa kahapon ng dalahin sya dito.

"Can you tell me what happened to him?"

"He was born premature, about 8 months and somedays. Wala akong pera, hindi ko sya naipaincubator."

"Where is his father? Why have he not do anything?"

"He was out of our lives. I don't know where he was."

"His first check up was on a barangay health center. No doctor. I was at fault for all of this."

I cried. This is all my fault, dahil sa kawalan ko, hindi ko naagapan ang sakit nya. I feel Yuseff's hand caressing my back. Lalo akong napaiyak. Hindi ko maitatanggi na kahit anong mangyari, I loved him, I still love him. My heart is still his. And yes, I miss him and his touch. It's been too long.

"Mama..." mahinang tawag ni Yugi

"Anak, jusko po anak, Yugi, wag mo takutin si Mama. Please."

"Mama, iyak ikaw?"

"Oo natakot ako, akala ko iiwan mo na din si Mama. Wag mo ako iiwan anak ha?"

"Love ni Yugi si Mama."

"Love din ni Mama si Yugi. Love na love kita anak." And kissed him

"Mama, bakit sya andito?" turo nya kay Yuseff

"Anak, mag thank you ka sa kanya kasi sinave ka nya kahapon."

"Thank You po sa pagsave sa akin. Hindi po pala ikaw bad."

Kumatok naman ang nurse para ipatawag kami dahil naghihintay na daw ang specialist doctor.

"Ferella Enriquez?"

"Oh Good Lord! Stephen Santos?"

"Yeah, how are you? What can I do for you? God Fere, you still look georgous."

"Ehemmmmn. I am Yuseff Hernandez, her husband. We're here for our son's treatment. Referral from Dra. Jeen."

"Oh yeah, I can't believe my prettiest ex's son would be a patient. Haha"

"Stephen naman."

"Anyway, I've got the records sent to me this morning. I have some questions though."

"Is he a premature baby?"

"Yes, he was born 8 months and some days."

"How old are you when he's born?"

Yuseff's phone suddenly rang.

"Excuse me, I have to take a the call. I'll be back."

I sighed deep.

"Stephen, I will tell you everything but please keep it between the two of us. Nobody knows the truth."

"Ofcourse."

"He's not my real son. He was Fate's. Fate was only 17 when she gave birth. Fate died after giving birth, I claimed him."

"Actually, I am surprised with his condition and yours. Most kids with this condition have lost their mothers. "

"I'll find time to tell you the story but please keep this a secret between you and me. Nobody actually knows the truth."

"Ofcourse, you know how much I loved you Fere. You owe me one"

I smiled at him ng biglang pumasok si Yuseff.

"Can we discuss our son's condition?"

"Your son has weak lungs. As of the moment, he got bronchiolistis. He got this during his mom's pregnancy. We need to inject a lot of meds to him, to make this happen we need to admit him in the hospital for atleast 3 weeks. We'll slowly inject him antibiotics and meds. We do not want him to be overdose. He'll also be having Respiratory Rehabilitation Theraphy."

"So when will this start?"

"The soonest possible Sir."

"h-hhow much would I need for the procedure?"

"About 300 to 400 thousand."

"what?!"

"There is no problem in settling this. I can give you as much as you need. Make sure my son is well after that. Let's go Ferella."

"Yuseff, hindi mo kailangang bayaran ang kailangan ng anak ko." sabi ko sa kanya pagkalabas namin ng clinic ni Dr Stephen

"Bakit? Kaya mo ba ang gastos?"

"Hindi. At alam kong hindi rin kita kayang bayaran."

"Ayoko marumihan ang pangalan ko Ferella. The annulment didn't go through, technically you are still my wife. And heaven or hell, I will father your son."

That left me dumbfounded. Naguguluhan ako. Ipinagpapasalamat ko na lang na iniwan nya na muna ako sa kwarto ng anak ko.

Knock knock knock

"Hi Fere, may mga kasama ako." dungaw ni Patchie

"Fere..."

"Friend.."

"Girls."

Silently we hugged each other while crying. I missed them so much, I miss my friends. Here are my best girls, complete and very happy.

"Where the hell have you been?" Aira

"God! You almost made us crazy you bitch!" Tamie

"Saan kaba nagpunta Fere? Anong nangyari sayo?" Ishie

I smiled at them.

"Ano ba, isa isa lang. Basta namiss ko din kayo By the way girls, si Yugi, anak ko, anak, these are your Ninangs they are Mama's friends."

"Hello po."

"Hi little boy. Diba nakita mo na ako?" Patchie smiled

"Ako ay pinsan ng Papa mo."

"Patch."

"Wala po ako Papa."

They looked at me asking.

"Later." Sabi ko

"Anyway, Hi Baby, ako si Tita Ishie. Pagaling ikaw baby kasi kailangan ko ng ring bearer sa kasal ko."

"Ano po yun? Nikakain po yun? Sabi ni Mama bawal daw po ako kapag matamis."

"Baby, ring bearer. Ikakasal na kasi ako, tapos gusto ko, ikaw magdadala ng sing sing."

"Mama pwede ba ako yun?"

"Oo naman anak."

Ngumiti naman si Yugi. Buti na lang at nakakahawig namin sya. Kamukha nga nya talaga si Fate.

"Ang cute cute naman ng baby boy, kamukha sya ni Fate ano?" Tamie

I just nod at her. Buti na nga lang Tamie.

"Eto nga pala, may gift kami sayo." Aira

Nakatingin lang si Yugi sa akin. Ganyan ang batang yan, hanggat wala akong go signal, hindi nya gagawin ang mga bagay bagay.

"Cge anak, open mo na."

"Wow!!! Airplane! Mama! Airplane oh."

"Oo anak, ang ganda no?"

"Mama, mahal to diba? Madami sila pera?"

"Oo Yugi, kapag magaling ka na, isasama kita sa mall tapos bibilihin mo lahat ng gusto mong toys." Tamie

"Talaga po?"

"Oo naman. Kahit ano gusto mo bibilhin natin." Ishie

"Madami talaga sila pera Mama, lahat daw gusto ko bibilhin ko eh."

"ay naku, ikaw talaga. Sige play ka na muna ha." Hinayaan ko na munang ienjoy ni Yugi ang laruang natanggap nya.

"Ate." dumating si Faye at nagulat silang lahat

"Faye! Jusko anlaki mo na!" Tamie cried nung makita si Faye, paano'y sya halos ang tumulong sa akin kay Faye

"Mama Tamie." Faye cried too, for sure she misses Tamie too.

"Sa akin ka matutulog ngayon ha?! Matutuwa si Calyssa kapag nakita ka, pati na rin si Zach. Anlaki mo na. Miss na miss na kita."

"Miss na din po kita Mama Tamie."

Excited akong makita ang mga pamilya nila. Lahat pala kami ay may mga anak na.
