"Rin, you need to meet the rest of my family," Jackson tells me one day while I'm playing with kinetic sand in my office.

I quickly put down the sand and turn to look at Jackson. I've only met his dad once and that's about it. Jackson still hasn't met my family. I know we've been dating for a while now, but was I really ready to meet his mother and brother?

"Are you sure I should do that?" I ask feeling unsure of what would happen when I would finally meet them.

"Babe, I love you so they'll love you," Jackson says sitting on the love seat that's in my room. "And my dad already likes you so that's one less person to worry about."

"What about your mom? Is she strict? Is she lenient? I know the mother's opinion means a lot to her son. If she doesn't like me, what am I supposed to do?"

"Well, my mom is the harshest critic out of my whole family, but I know she will love you. You're definitely better than my last girlfriend, so she'll automatically love you for that. Don't stress so much over it, princess. We'll have a dinner with my parents and brother so I can introduce you to them. How does that sound?"

"Nerve-wracking."

"I promise it won't be. I'll be your side the whole time and I'll be the mediator during the whole dinner. But I don't think anything bad would happen. My parents aren't crazy and my brother is very tame."

"You say that now, but you never know."

"Princess, everything will be fine. It's just my family. Nothing to stress over."

"Oh, it's everything to stress over."

"I promise you it won't. I'll be there for you every minute."

"Well, if I meet the rest of your family, does that mean you'll finally meet my family?"

"Of course. I'd love to meet your family."

"Well, my family is a bit more traditional. Just letting you know right off the bat."

"Would they have a problem with you dating a man like that?"

"Eh... Let's cross that bridge when we get there. We have more concerning problems with your parents. Your dad didn't have a problem with me being a different race than you. Would your mom?"

"Fine. We'll talk about that later then. And I don't think so. I've date other ethnicities before and introduced them to my family. They never seemed to care."

"Okay. So when is this meeting going to happen?"

It's Friday night and Jackson and I are heading to his parent's house for a family dinner. I dressed myself in a nice, nude lace dress and black oxfords. Jackson decided not to match with me and is wearing a brown button-down, short sleeve shirt and black slacks. He decided to wear loafers and I laughed at him for it. I got a harsh smack on my bum for it, but it was totally worth it.

The drive was about half an hour, but it felt like forever. I kept shifting in my seat until Jackson put a hand on my knee to stop me from moving.

"Please stop moving, Princess. You're distracting me," Jackson say as he gently squeezes my thigh.

"Sorry, Daddy," I apologize, sitting properly in my seat. "I'm just so nervous. What if they don't like me? That's all I can think about."

"They will. And so what if they don't? I love you and that's all that should matter."

"I know, but their opinion should matter a lot to you. It's your family."

"It should be fine. I keep telling you this. They will love like how I love you."

"I'm just so scared. This is the first I've ever met the parents."

"Well, I will make sure nothing does wrong tonight."

"I'll hold you to that, Daddy."

We make it to his parent's house around 6:30. We sit in the car for a bit so I can collect myself. The nerves are really getting to me. I take a few breathes and finally leave the car. Jackson puts his arm around my waist and pulls me towards the house. Jackson knocks on the door. We wait a moment before the door opens, revealing Jackson's dad.

"Jackson, Rin!" Richard says pulling the both of us into the house. "Welcome to our humble abode."

Their house is a cute little 2-story in a suburban neighborhood. You'd think the owner of a successful company would have a large house, but they don't. I really admire the more simplistic house and I hope Jackson and I will have something like this in the near future.

We walk past the nicely decorated living room, styled in a more modern them, on our way to the dinning room. Inside the dinning room is a woman who looks to be Jackson's mother, a man that has similar features to Jackson and a lady holding an adorable little baby boy. They're all standing around the table chatting. Once we enter, they all shift their attention to us. The lady that looks to be Jackson's mother comes over to us.

"Jackson, my baby," she says as she kisses Jackson on the cheek. "It feels like it's been forever since I've seen you."

"I know, mom," Jackson says hugging her. "I've been busy."

The woman turns to me and smiles brightly. I try to reciprocate the action without appearing nervous. "I can see why. Now I finally get to meet the lovely woman that's been keeping my son so happy. It's so great to finally meet you, honey. I'm Patricia."

"It's great to meet you too, ma'am. I'm Rin," I say politely as I put out a hand for her to shake.

Jackson's mother turns to Jackson with an impressed look. She pushes my hand away and gives me a hug. I hug her backs out of surprise. I forgot that Jackson's dad did say they were all huggers. Jackson's mother pulls away and hands my hands with a bright smile.

"No need for that 'ma'am' stuff," Jackson's mother playfully scolds me. "You can call me Patricia. And aren't you just the cutest little thing. And polite too. I'm glad Jackson has you in his life. You know, his last girlfriend was a little hoe-y."

"Mom! Don't tell Rin that!" Jackson exclaims covering his face with his hands. I giggle at his mother's teasing.

His mother giggles with me. She waves a hand at Jackson, dismissing what he had said. "I can tell her whatever I want. I am your mother and I know for a fact I didn't like your last girlfriend."

"Yeah, yeah. I know nobody did. But can we not talk about her? Especially at the dinner table?"

"Okay, Jackson. Whatever you say. Now Rin, let me introduce you to my other son."
