[YOU]

I guess being an insomniac did have its perks, it allowed Toby to stay up all night and watch over you. Sometimes if Toby was around you he had no trouble sleeping at all. You had this calm aura that would relax and tingle his body, something about you just made him feel like he was floating on air.

Though, during the night Toby couldn't help but crawl into bed with you. The moon that had shown through the window had illuminated your face, bringing out your [color] lips and [color] hair, it shined like water glistening under a starry night.

God, you were just so flawless, so beautiful and simple. Toby's paleface would heat up when he stared at you for too long. You just made him feel so weak and helplessly in love. He couldn't stop himself from taking your gentle hand into his own. Your small hand fit perfectly with his. A smile graced Toby's lips, that nervous feeling began to turn inside his stomach, the feeling was what people called butterflies in the stomach. Toby cuddled near your sleeping body, he bit his lip trying hard to contain any excited tics or noises. Eventually after stroking your cheek and losing himself in thoughts of you he had slowly drifted to sleep.

Morning had soon arrived. The sky was bright while clouds slowly passed the sun. Despite it being a hot and sunny day Toby couldn't help but feel cold. Your warmth was no longer beside him. His hand dragged over where you had once laid. Toby was still half asleep when he noticed you weren't next to him anymore. His ears had then caught the sound of a news reporter talking.

"Police are unsure who could have done this and are currently investigating to find more answers."

Toby's eyes shot open as he swiftly sat up. Toby saw you sitting at the edge of the bed facing the television. Your back was facing but Toby could automatically tell you weren't very happy at the moment. The news was playing on the cheap television and the man Toby had killed and promised to bury last night was being displayed on the news.

You had speechlessly watched the news, the woman discuss the murder scene and showed photos of the once living man, it made your stomach turn in disgust. you were angry that Toby didn't bury the man he had slaughtered. Now he's being displayed on the news for the world to see! Paranoia began to boil through your skin and the idea of you going to prison haf popped into your head.

Sure you didn't kill the man yourself but you were there to watch and didn't report anything to the police. Not only that but you're practically hiding Toby; A murderer who's wanted all around the country. It really hadn't clicked into your head until you had turned on the T.V and saw the breaking news. It shook you to your core, you were a horrible person for even letting yourself stay with Toby even after knowing he had murdered a man. You could say it had self defense since the man had attacked you but---Toby went a little overkill. . .

"(Y-Y/n)?"

Toby had such a soft voice when he was around you, he really made you question your feelings towards him. Sometimes you felt comfortable with Toby but other times you wondered if he was going to turn against you and kill you. Of course Toby's never done any actual harm towards you. But knowing that he was capable if such horrible things such as killing, is terrified you.

"I thought you promised to give that man a proper burial?" You didn't bother to look back at Toby, you couldn't sense any guilt coming from him.

"Must have slipped my mind." You could imagine a smile through his words and the lack of stutter told you he meant what he did.

"How are we supposed to get to my grandmother's now? The police are going to trace his murder back to us!" You shouted, turning you body to finally reveal your angry face. Toby sat up from the bed and stretched, showing not an ounce of concern for the troubled situation. He than calmly responded "No, they won't." You were taken by surprise. "I never left any evidence behind. Trust me, they'll write this off as a cold case in no time." He briefly explained.

You looked down, wondering if what he said was true. "Plus no one saw us, the police have no leads to go on, we'll be safe." Toby comforted. You sighed clicking the off button on the remote, the T.v quickly shut off as you stood up from the motel bed. You tossed the remote to the side soon making your way to the restroom. Toby suddenly became anxious, you weren't going to lock yourself in the restroom again, were you?

"A-Are you mad?" Toby timidly asked. You stopped at the door frame, looking back at the anxious male with a pissed look. "Of course I'm mad! This whole thing is just so fucking stupid!" You shouted, ruffling your hair a bit before shouting once more. "I never wanted any of this to happen! I never wanted a ton of murderers to come after me! If I had known meeting you would lead up to all this crazy bullshit, I would have never-ever became your damn friend!"

With that being your final words you slammed the restroom door shut. It was such a hard slam that one of the decorative picture frames had fell onto the floor. Toby was left stunned at your sudden outburst. He felt extremely guilty, he could feel his heart sink with sorrow. The fact that you were mad at Toby made him want to break something. Toby began to hyperventilate, he began to picture all kinds of scenarios, they mainly consisted of you leaving him. You can't be mad forever, can you? Toby's break down then turned into a small cry. You were mad at him and it hurt him, it hurt Toby to the point where he wondered if he should just go and jump off a bridge. . .

What should he do now? Clearly he wanted to apologize. Toby didn't want you to be mad at him for too long, he needed you to be beside him, to hug him, to hold him! Apologising sounds easy but it wasn't going to be enough. Toby thought for a minute or two when an idea had popped into his insane head.

Toby removed the covers, quickly putting on his shoes. He changed into more 'normal' clothes and head off to the closest store. As you were occupied with cleaning yourself up, Toby was occupied with getting anything he thought would make you smile at him again.

After a long shower you dressed in some casual clothes. The suitcase you had packed had a limited amount of clothes so you were hoping you'd arrive at your grandmother's soon, you didn't want to have to wear any old stained clothes if this trip took longer. Speaking of your grandmother, you should probably call her and let her know you were going to arrive a little later than planned. Your grandma was a nice and giddy woman, so you knew she'd understand.

How long has it been since you've last visited her? Three years? Maybe four? Originally you had planned to live near your grandmother, but opportunities for better schooling had popped up in another state, thus being the reason why you moved. Eventually you went to college to become a baker. Stupid decisions soon led to even more stupid decision and you dropped out of college. You had this silly idea that you could save up enough money to open your own bakery, later you realized you knew nothing about business and left that dream aside. Once again, plans were ruined and you ended up staying stuck in a small town that you hated, you became too comfortable with your predictable way of living. . .

Thinking back on your life so far, you noticed that everything that had gone wrong was because of you. You're just so dumb and naive, you knew you were and you hated that fact. You glanced at yourself in the restroom mirror. You didn't look so good, your eyes were heavy from fatigue and your bottom lip was busted, you weren't going to lie you've seen way better days.

After finishing up in the restroom you exited, steam leaving the restroom. You entered into the main room of the motel and immediately stopped, you dropped the towel you had folded in your hands onto the floor. You were taken by surprise when you saw what lied on the bed.

A stuffed [animal] sat cutely on the bed, it was the cutest thing you had ever seen. It held a [type] flower and a chocolate box. It was such a simple gesture that it astonished you. It's not like it was some type of fancy car or anything but it was a real surprise you didn't expect.

Your breath suddenly hitched in your throat when you felt a pair of slender arms snake around your waist from behind. Goosebumps arose when you felt Toby's hot breath hit your neck. His hold on you had love and passion, you could this by the way he allowed his body to gently press against you. You soon put the pieces together, these gift were an apology from Toby.

"I-I know it isn't much but, I r-really wanted to show you that I'm sorry." The male uttered, his hug becoming a bit firm. You weren't sure what to say. You truly liked the effort but he was apologising because he killed a man. . . How do you forgive something like that? Should you forgive that? You were so conflicted on how to feel right now.

"Can you forgive me?" Toby whispered, his voice sounding low and sweet. You were silent, debating whether you should forgive this man or stay angry. On one hand it's extremely unjust for Toby to take someone's life away and do it so brutally, but... On the other hand, you kind of owe Toby your life, he had saved you from a man who had hurt you and had planned to do horrible things to you.

"I-I really want to, but. . ."

"But what?"

"It still won't change the fact that you're someone who-- who has murdered before."

Toby kept his lips shut. He can understand your fear and hesitation towards him but Toby didn't want you to be nervous around him forever. He wanted you to understand that he isn't who he used to be. Sure his past is still there but that's why Toby ran away from the others in the first place, he doesn't want to be a cold blooded killer anymore, he wanted freedom and love.

"I promise I won't do anything like that again." He whispered, giving you another squeeze. You pondered on his words, you should probably forgive him, he's your ticket to escaping the evil hands of the other killers, not to mention your only form of protection. You let out a heavy sigh, hoping you wouldn't regret anything in the future.

"Okay, fine. I forgive you but I really want you to keep that promise we made."

You were suddenly spun around and met with the killer's face. His brown eyes sparkled with joy. Toby held you into a tight embrace before you felt his lips slightly grazing your ear when he whispered.

"You won't regret this."

A spark went up your spine. You had a slight feeling that Toby did things like this on purpose. And to be completely honest, he did. It was just really fun to tease you, what more could he say? After a moment of embrace Toby had finally released you. You went over to the gifts gently grabbing the flower before examining the rest of the gifts.

How did Toby know this was your favorite flower? You also don't remember telling him what your favorite stuffed animal is. Now that you think about it, you don't recall ever sharing such small details like that with him. Or maybe you two had casually talked about it at one point and just forgot..? You brushed the thought aside.

"So. What's our next move?" You questioned. Toby unconsciously rubbed the back of his neck, giving you a nervous smile. "W-Well, I actually w-wanted to take you out to eat. M-Maybe eat s-something filling before we ride the bus again." Toby planned. You mused over the suggestion you were extremely hungry and food was definitely the way to your heart. "Okay, let's go." You agreed. Toby grinned when you agreed, going out to eat meant more quality time with you!

* * * * * * *

It was a bit tense when you ate at a small diner. You were still a bit upset about the situation from earlier. You wanted to sweep it under the rug but how could you ignore something like murder? Ever since you had witnessed what Toby had done to that man you've been replaying the gruesome scene in your head, traumatized over what you had heard and smelled. You had never seen such a sight before, and you wished to never see it again. You suddenly found yourself staring at Toby, who devoured the food that presented itself in front of him. How could he eat? You didn't even do the murder yet here you are, stomach in knots at the mere thought of blood. Toby really was a killer. . .

Toby noticed the tension in the air, he tried to think of some ways to get your mind off the subject of blood and agony. He decided to conversate about your grandmother. "S-So," he shyly started, tracing his fork on the plate. "What's your grandma like?" Toby asked, realizing he knew very little about this relative of yours. You snapped out of your daze, your mind switching to Toby's question. "My grandma?" You repeated. Toby nodded, hoping this would ease your mind. You thought for a few seconds before responding. It's been awhile since you've discussed you grandmother.

"Well, she's old. She's also extremely sweet." You listed. You really didn't have much to say about her, she was just your neighborhood friendly grandma that makes cookies and probably puts razors in them if she hears you talking shit about her precious grandkids. Yeah, a normal grandma.

"D-Did she raise you?" Toby bluntly asked. He's never seen or much less heard you talk about your family or parents. "Yeah for a while actually. I was an accident and my mom didn't want to raise me so she gave me to my grandmother. My mom went off to fulfill her "dreams' and I was left to be raised by my grandmother. I never actually had the chance to meet her though. But I think it's better if I never do."

Wow... You had a pretty harsh childhood. Guess that was another thing Toby and you had in common, you had deadbeat mom and he head a deadbeat dad. Although Toby wasn't sure if he should feel pity for you, you seemed like you didn't care all about your mother abandoning you. You talked as if it was nothing. Toby remained silent fighting over what to say, would it be weird if he said sorry for your childhood? Anxiety ate at him until you broke his concentration.

"What about you? Now that I know who you truly are you finally tell me about your whole back story." You stated, taking a bite from your food on the plate. Toby looked away from your wonderful eyes, they were piercing to look at right now. As much as Toby didn't want to talk about his past it was only fair that he did. Knowing each other's personal history brings people together right?

"O-Oh um... What part do you want to know..?" He wondered. "Everything. What caused you to be what you are today?" You asked. Toby's throat became tight, where should he start? It's been years since he had talked about his life before becoming a proxy for a faceless monster. Toby's hand began to shake a bit, memories of his family began to flood his mind. He hated thing about them, it made him want to tear his own flesh off.

You quickly noticed his anxious behavior since his hand was shaking on the table. You slowly placed your hand on top of his own in an attempt to sooth him. Toby stared at the hand that rested upon his own. Toby felt a warm sensation course through his body. He slightly smiled before taking a deep breath.

The story was long and harsh. Toby had told you about his sister, the crash, the visions, and his bad father. What Toby had done to his father wasn't okay, but you couldn't blame Toby for killing his father. Toby had been a broken and confused boy when he had killed his first victim, it still didn't give him right to kill a person. But now you understood why Toby had so much hate within him. . .

The rest of the breakfast was silent. You had thought about Toby and his origins. A lot more things began to make sense, but you wondered what this 'master' or 'boss' looked like. For some odd reason you pictured him to look like some type of mafia leader. Toby never really gave any detail on this mysterious man but from what you know he sounded cold, calculated, and manipulative.

You prayed that you would never have to face this man.

After finishing breakfast Toby and you had travelled back to the hotel, packing your gifts and clothes that had been taken out. You dreaded this trip to your grandma's so much... You would have been at her house by midnight but since you and Toby are being hunted down the trip was delayed. Two more days were still ahead of you. Hell, you hadn't even made it out of state yet.

Now you were leaning against a cold wall staring at the bright sky outside the bus station. Toby kindly held your luggage, despite how many times you insisted you could hold it yourself. Today just felt like it was going to be long, the bus was taking forever and your bladder was suddenly on the verge of exploding. You became red realizing you had to use the restroom.

"I-I'll be back." Before you could run off Toby took your wrist yanking you back. "I'll come with." He suggested, you immediately rejected the proposal. "N-No! You stay here, I just need to use the restroom." You explained removing Toby's hand from your wrist. Toby wanted to follow you but he decided it would be best if he didnt.
You eventually found a restroom, feeling so much better when you had let out all of that unwanted liquid from your body. You were in a rusty old restroom, you had a feeling people shot up heroin in these stalls. You tried to make you go as quick as possible, you left the bathroom stall slowly finding yourself at a dirty sink. An unsettling feeling had suddenly crawled down your back, the restroom was empty from people but creepy vibes of someone else be here had soon set in. You looked around finding no one around or even in a stall, you shook the feeling off assuming you were just being a little too paranoid. You glanced up at the mirror examining your face, you softly touched the busted lip you had. God, you really did look awful...

You sighed looking down at the sink, turning off the running water. You wondered how much longer it was going to take before the bus arrived, you looked up one last time in the mirror, letting out a loud scream. A man with a blue mask stood behind you, the black holes in the mask had black liquid trailing down his face. You spun around ready to run but when you turned your body around, the person was gone. You panted in fear, your eyes darting around the disgusting restroom. You swore to God someone was there. You took control of your breathing, running your fingers through you sweaty hair. You wanted Toby, no, you needed Toby, he's the only one you're safe around.

You hurriedly ran out the restroom, you dreadfully realised the restroom you had been in faced the woods. Your heart beat like drums in your ears, something within you wanted to travel into those woods without your permission. No one was around to see or save you, your hands twitched as you stayed frozen staring at the woods. You were entranced by those woods and--Oh God, why couldn't you move? Your body wasn't listening to you mind!

You used all of your might to clench your fist but before you could break the spell that kept you frozen, a gloved hand was stealthily placed around your mouth. A muffled scream was heard. You felt an arm wrap chokingly around your neck, harshly dragging you into the woods. You kicked and screamed but it was all proven worthless when you found yourself surrounded by tall and gloomy trees.

You prayed to God that Toby would notice you missing. . .

The more you had struggled against the kidnapper's hold the more he
