Savannah had been having trouble sleeping lately. She kept on having a dream about the little blonde boy, who somewhat distinctly familiar to her.

She thought that she knew him.

As soon as the realization set in, Savannah couldn't help but find it inconceivable. She had woken up from that dream again, sat up, and froze on the place as her mind raced.

A moment later, a perturbed look appeared on her face. She couldn't help from biting her nail.

Various emotions attacked her at once; bewilderment, disbelief, sadness, and finally a little guilt. She sorted her thoughts, and gradually calmed down.

That's right. She would meet with Lucas tomorrow. If she didn't solve this knot, which somehow had haunted her in the past too; she wouldn't feel assured.

As the time for their meeting slowly approached, Savannah prepared for her clothes; the red long-sleeved ruffle blouse combined with the black long trousers. She picked something simple.

She was the first one to come. Savannah sat on the bench and began to take notice of the surrounding. The park was not too crowded; people walked in while enjoying themselves.

Pedestrians were also seen walking on in a relaxed manner.

Savannah was unperturbed by all of this. However, seeing the children playing around, her mind was somewhat calm. She heaved a sigh, feeling a little emotional.

She had always been tired mentally since her husband passed away. Having to take care of Amara while giving her the most she could.

Amara didn't have a father, and Savannah had to take both roles. She was lucky that her father, Amara's grandfather also doted on his granddaughter very much.

Savannah was a bit lost in her sea of thoughts until the sound of light footsteps caught her attention. She looked up, finding Lucas's figure approaching.

She couldn't help but fall into a trance. Lucas's figure seemed to overlap with someone who had intruded on her dreams since a few days ago.

He wasn't in his usual suit. Instead, Lucas was wearing a loose T-shirt and long grey trousers. This way, he seemed much more approachable and resembled a normal young man, not someone of high status.

Seeing Savannah's stunned expression, Lucas strode forward with a smile.

"Did I make you wait for long?"

Savannah shook her head, scooting to the left to give him some place to sit. Lucas noticed her goodwill and took a seat next to her.

She bit her lip and stared ahead, waiting for the person next to her to begin the conversation. However, for what seemed like a long time, she didn't hear anything besides the sound of the rustling tree branches brushed against each other due to wind.

When she couldn't help it anymore, Savannah stole a glance at him. A startled look appeared on her face as she noticed that Lucas was blatantly staring at her.

She frowned slightly. She wanted to speak but refrained herself. Savannah didn't back down from his gaze, unyieldingly stared back.

With an amused look, Lucas muttered softly. "Have you always been like this?"

"Like what?" Savannah mumbled, looking away.

Lucas gazed at her face, noticing her calm attitude. He sighed. "You do remember, don't you?"

Savannah was silent. Hearing those words had confirmed most of her suspicions.

Noticing that she was silent, Lucas took a deep breath. "Whether you remember or not, it doesn't matter anymore. I hope that you are in a fine condition."

Lucas's smile was full of sincerity. He had never expected that someone's presence in his life could create such a drastic change in a short time.

Savannah's eyes flashed hearing words. She had guessed it, he probably knew something from his tone. He was careful with his words as not to push any wrong buttons this time.

She pondered about it for a while. After debating with herself for a while, Savannah finally admitted. "I remember just a bit, some memories are still not clear."

Lucas's eyes lit up like a child rewarded with candy.

"Does it matter that much--" Savannah stopped, hurriedly turned her head to see Lucas's expression. She felt a bit odd when she saw that he didn't seem to be offended.

"For me, it's a very important thing," Lucas mumbled gently. "I am happy that you remember something, albeit just a little. That means that you still hold some importance to those distant memories."

She should have forgotten all of them. After all, those memories weren't all that pleasant. But Lucas couldn't help but felt somewhat thrilled when she said that she did remember. Even when she had no emotional fluctuations on her face as she uttered those words of admission.

"I am sorry for all I have done until now." Lucas suddenly said to her. "I have done countless unpleasant things to you. Some are even the things that are not easily forgiven just like that. I regret all of them."

Lucas suddenly stood up, startling Savannah. He bowed at her. "I will try to make up for you."

Savannah was stunned into silence. She had never seen him being like this. The usually arrogant person like him was wearing such solemn and sincere expressions. She was at a loss for words at the moment.

Lucas didn't speak. He wanted to give her time, no matter what's the response going to be, so he waited.

"I-" Savannah bit her lip. The various emotions rolling in her heart like waves, and couldn't be described. "I need time."

"Alright," Lucas answered with a smile. "No matter how long I will wait for you. Even if it's a lifetime, I will spend it to make up for everything."

Savannah widened her eyes, her lips parted slightly. This man would do that? However, Savannah still felt unsure and somewhat anxious.

The pain and feelings of the past couldn't be washed so easily. It needed time, the heart needed time to heal.

"This is my promise to you." Lucas took out something. It was the bracelet that he had often kept by his side. Savannah let him put it in her hand when he asked for it.

After he was done, Savannah stared at the bracelet with a tangled feeling.

She subconsciously gazed at Lucas, finding him smiling at her. This time, the smile was mixed with regret. Unconsciously, Savannah's lips curved upwards to smile back at him.

She slowly nodded at him.

Thanks for your prayer guys! I finally got accepted into the university I want. One of the top three universities in my country! When I opened the announcement, it felt like a dream.

However, I never expected I got accepted into another university too. After all, I was a science student in high school, who learned social studies for the entrance test from the scratch in four months while also studying in another college (not the major that suits me).

Aah, I got accepted by two universities in the top ten.
Sorry for bragging guys, I am just so excited 😭

Now, I also want to ask. What kind of ending do you want?
