I wrote this chapter in rush, there's a lot of typos certainly, but enjoy!

This afternoon, Savannah had brought Amara to buy her some candies for saving. Janette since she wanted some refreshment, decided to come along with both of them.

Amara looked excited as she walked and kept on scanning at the pack of candies in front of her, still couldn't decide which candy she would take home.

Janette followed after the little girl, in her mouth she was eating a small candy she had bought earlier. Savannah wasn't far from them, scanning the pancake that was displayed near the glass of the shop. She wanted to buy one for them tonight.

Savannah's eyes immediately fell into a beautiful cake that was decorated with strawberry and chocolate. No doubt that Grandma would like them as she loved chocolate very much.

Savannah called the shopkeeper and asked her to wrap the cake. As she waited, Savannah immediately went to search for Amara and Janette. God knows how many candies they had brought after they were left for almost half a hour now.

Amara was found picking up some candies in the corner of the room, she cradled the bunch of them to her chest, grinning happily. Savannah smiled at the sight, and was about to approach her. Unfortunately, she accidentally stepped into the slippery part of the floor that had just been washed, making her lost her balance.

She fell into the floor, well almost, if not for the hands gripping both of hers that keep her on her feet. Savannah let out a breath of relief, and she was instantly in for surprise of her life as she met the eyes of her savior.

Mr. Hernandez immediately let go of her as they shuffled to give space in between them. He cleared his throat awkwardly while Savannah gave him a kinda forced smile.

"Uh ... hello, Mr," Savannah paused a bit, feeling so weird, and she continued while letting out her breath, "Hernandez."

The man in front of her just stared at her awkwardly, scratching his neck that wasn't really itch. "Oh, hi."

Mentally slapping himself, Mr. Hernandez finally spoke out. "Outside the work, just call me Lucas, okay?"

Savannah nodded absentmindedly, before she realized what he just said, "Lucas, eh?"

"Yes," Mr. Hernandez nodded, giving her a tight smile that really didn't give away any emotion.

"Here, bring this!" A small voice called out of nowhere, shoving his small body in between the two adults.

Adrian's eyes shined with recognition as he finally looked at Savannah, he grinned and greeted her. "Hello, Boss."

Then, the little boy turned towards Mr. Hernandez, tugging on his body to get down. Awkwardly, he did what Adrian wanted him to do, slowly crouching down his body.

"Here," Adrian said, dumping the candies from his hands to Mr. Hernandez's which took him by surprise. Some candies even fell into the floor. This made Savannah realized that Amara and Janette wasn't far from them, probably still busy picking up candies and some chocolate.

Savannah's head turned towards them, only to find that they were slowly approaching the tree of them. A huge amount of candies was piled in Janette hands, who cradled them to her chest. Amara only brought some, a little amount.

"Are you done, Sweetie?" Savannah took Amara's hand, crouching down to her level. Janette immediately noticed another presence among them, she eyed the stranger man in beside her with suspicion.
Amara nodded, eyes focusing on the colorful candies in her hands.

Mr. Hernandez stared at the little girl with curiosity. She looked like Savannah and the another girl beside him a lot. They had the same features: long brown wavy hair with the matching brown bright eyes and white pale skin.

"Oh, let me intoduce you two," Savannah said to break the uncomfortable silence. She cleared her throat and subtly gestured to Mr. Hernandez. "Janette, this is my boss, Lucas Hernandez."

Janette scanned his figure for a while, then nodded hesitantly. Savannah continued, "And, Mr. Hernandez, this is my cousin, Janette."

"Nice to meet you," Mr. Hernandez said formally, nodding at the younger girl. Janette was silent for a moment, she didn't say anything and only nodded back at him.

For a moment, they seemingly forget about the kids, who was also busy in their own world. Adrian was unusually silent, looking at the little girl holding Savannah's hand in awe.

Amara was oblivious, but as soon as she meet his eyes, she could only gave him a small wave shyly. Savannah noticed that the little girl was moving her hand, she looked down to find what was happening and was a bit surprised. Mr. Hernandez was also looking at his nephew in disbelief.

Adrian was the gabby one, and he usually would be talking non-stop, even around girls. The little boy suddenly walked from Mr. Hernandez hold, shyly inching towards Savannah, which caught the three adults' attention.

"What's your name? My name is Adrian." The little boy's voice sounded almost like whisper. Savannah noticed the slight tint to his cheeks, which made her want to pinch them due tl his cuteness, but she held herself back.

"Amara..." Amara whispered back, as if she didn't want anyone passing by, or even the other three people to hear their conversation.

The two kept on staring at each other awkwardly. Adrian, for the first time didn't know what to say to the little girl in front of him. They just silent for what seemingly to be a long time until Janette broke the silence.

"I will pay for these candies," she finally said, pulling herself away from these confusing bunch of people. The kids, and even the other two people beside her seeemed like they were in their own world, and it was so uncomfortable that she didn't want to be there any longer.

Savannah just smiled, this time a little more genuine. She bid her boss and the little boy a farewell, then dragged Amara to the cashier with her. She paid for her things with the confused little Amara followed behind her.

It was the first time a boy ever approach her. She was so sheltered that she only had a few girls her age as her friends.
