Savannah gathered her things. This been a week after the first day Charlie accompanied her with her work. He was proven to be a good company although they could only communicate through paper and pen.

His throat's condition has increased immensely too. He could already speak a few words. During his stay at the company, Savannah made sure to help him pronounce some words. A bottle of air ready on their table in case Charlie coughed badly.

Savannah bid her farewell to Charlie, who nodded and waved at her. She exited the building, staring at left and right side of the surrounding, then began to walk.

She was so enggrosed in her thoughts that the sudden of a hand clasped her mouth tightly made her gasp in surprise. Savannah struggled to break free from whoever tried to drag her to some place. The person kept dragging her as she kicked, her screams muffled in the palm of the captor's hand.

She was being dragged to some silent place, and it was getting darker due to shadows of the tall buliding. They stopped at a seemingly deserted place, probably

The captor was panting, letting her go as Savannah spun around to face her kidnapper. In no time, her face had turned red in anger, her fists balled to her sides.

Brandon recoiled, looking at Savannah fearfully as if he had just woken up a lioness, and it was ready to pounce and tearing his flesh.

"I-I can explain," Brandon gulped, eyeing Savannah'a fist.

It was raised high, ready to make a dent on Brandon's head, which also just healed from Savannah pysical beating. The swung of her fist was caught by Brandon, who looked as surprised as she was.

Brandon gulped, his posture strengthening into a determined look. He hurriedly used his other hand to snatch a rope and tied Savannah's hands together with it. He definitely didn't want to get beaten again. He also tied Savannah's feet as he forced her to crouch down.

"Let me go, you stupid monkey!" Savannah snapped, glaring viciously at him. Brandon fidgeted as he took a few steps back, fiddling with his fingers. It was clear that he was nervous.

"What the hell do you want?" Savannah still struggled to freed herself, wriggle around. Her eyes filled with with unrestrained anger. "It is not enough that you have hurt Janette? What do you want with me? Get the hell out of our lives!"

Brandon's face turned into one of a guilt. He took a step closer, thrusting his hand forward as if to hint something, but he pulled his hand back. Brandon let out a frustrated sigh, running his hands through his hair.

"Sava--" he was immediately cut off by someone smacking his head hard. Brandon fell into the floor, groaning.

He clutched his head, but his hands immediately being pulled so that he stood up again. That was where the beating began. A hand pulling his hair making his head ache, another hands hitting his skin as he struggled to break free and run.

"For god's sake. S-stop beating me, people!" Brandon finally yelled in frustration. He already had enough of Savannah's and definitely didn't need more beating.

Savannah rolled her eyes, trying to raise her hand in the air ordering them to stop, before realizing that she was tied. Savannah sighed, she said firmly, "You two, stop it."

The two did as she said, Mr. Hernandez letting go of his hold on Brandon and approach her. His place replaced by Charlie, who swiftly took a hold of Brandon so that he wouldn't run.

Mr. Hernandez immediately began to untie the rope around her hand and her feet. Savannah wobbled to stand up, clutching to Mr. Hernandez muscled hand for support.

A harsh glare directed to Brandon made the boy flinched a bit in Charlie's vice grip. It was surprising how Brandon hadn't tried to run judged from the way Charlie was holding him.

Charlie's big hands was clutching on on his ears. Yeah, only the ears part.

Maybe, he was also afraid that if he run, he'd lose both of it. None wants to lose their ears, definitely.

"What the fuck are you doing to her?" Mr. Hernandez was the first to spoke, his voice stern combined with the intimidating posture, eyes narrowed gazing at Brandon coldly.

"I don't do anything, I s-swear," Brandon gulped, not meeting Mr. Hernandez stare. Instead, he sent Savannah a pleading gaze.

Savannah mumbled incoherently under her breath, making a face. Mr. Hernandez's attention turned towards her, who sounded like a bunch of buzzing bees. Savannah immediately stopped mumbling, scrunching her nose in agitation.

"I-I just want to talk to Savannah." Brandon finally stated, making Savannah's head snapped to him.

"What do you want to talk about?" She snapped angrily.

Mr. Hernandez frowned, he took a step closer to Savannah, then went back to face Brandon. "You can speak here."

Brandon growled at him. "This is our business, not yours!"

Charlie's hand smacked his head lightly, making Brandon turned to growl at him.

Savannah rolled her eyes. "Stop growling, damn. Neither you are a dog nor a freaking wolf."

Brandon was silent after that, but he gave Savannah a pleading and hopeful look. Savannah raised her eyebrow at that, waiting for him to speak his mind.

"I just want to clear everything. Janette was in emotional state, so she couldn't think rationally. It's not what it seems." He explained, looking at Savannah.

Savannah pursed her lips into a thin line. "How do I believe that you are not trying to fool me into your side?"

Brandon scoffed at that, making a face. "Yeah, as if I could fool the ever so genius Savannah. I couldn't even get more than a B on my grade, yet yours is always an A."

Savannah contemplated over that, putting her finger on her lips, then nodded. Brandon's eyes instantly brightened, and sometimes that made Savannah wonder. He often act and looked like an innocent child.

"Really? You are going to hear my explanation then?" Brandon asked, he leaned his body forward, but the grip in his ears pulled him back, the ache made him wince.

"No." Savannah said.

Brandon's shoulder slumped, he sighed deeply, taking a deep breath. "Please, Savy. Please. Please. Please..."

Savannah grimaced at that. She tapped her foot on the ground impatiently. When his chant didn't falter, she went to approach him and smacked his head lightly not enough to hurt him.

Brandon's mouth formed someting that almost like a pout, making Savannah glare. Brandon sighed, he knew this is going to be his last card, selling himself to the female devil. "I promise I will give you anything."

Savannah's eyes sparkled at that. Brandond nodded numbly and mumbled, "Yes... as long as you help me to clear things with Janette."

Savannah pretended to think about the offer, she put her finger on her chin, then she looked at Brandon in the eye. "Okay then. Deal." She grinned at him.

"We can meet tomorrow, how does that sound?" Savannah asked him.

Mr. Hernandez stepped forward. "You are going to meet this kid alone? He almost kidnap you."

Brandon threw him a glare, "Shut up." He turned towards Savannah and smiled happily. "Okay."

Then, Brandon winced, remembering something. "Savannah?"

"Hmm?"

"Can you tell this giant-- I mean this man to let go of my ears?"

But, the said woman had already walked away, dragged by Mr. Hernandez who looked like he was scolding her.

Brandon glanced towards Charlie who stood beside him and grinned, holding up a peace sign. Honesty, Charlie's appearance quite intimidated him.

In the end, the two were grinning awkwardly at each other in the middle of deserted place.
