'Anything she need, she can call me

Don't worry 'bout her, that's my seed, yup, that's all me

Just know, if you cross her, then you cross me

Cross me, cross me, if you, if-'

Glancing out of her window, Maya watched as the trees passed them in a green blur. After having another round of last night, Maya and King had managed to pack up without jumping back in the shower to: 'clean off'. Maya had been trying to weasel the truth of where they were going out of Omari but he had refused to even acknowledge her now.

Maya pulled out her phone, texting Sadie to ask what she and Jordan were up to. Since the cookout, Sadie and Quincy had been hanging around a lot more rather than just speaking for the sake of their son. Maya smiled at the photo of Jordan hitting the woah that Sadie had sent her.

Omari glanced at Mayalika, turning up the volume so that she was drowned out by the sounds of Travis Scott. Maya side-eyed him, a scowl settling on her lips.

"You not slick," She smacked her lips, shifting in her seat. She was sore and Omari hadn't been much help since all he did was add to the pain. Maya now walked with a slight limp.

"Love you too, babe," Omari stated, glancing at her. Maya shook her head, fighting the smile that was spreading across her face. Whenever Omari was sentimental it always made her feel like she was back in high school - fawning over a crush.

Omari looked at her, "Aww, Maya are you blushing?" he pinched her thigh, laughing when she swatted his hand away. Omari's hand went back to her thigh - rubbing soothing circles on where he had pinched her.

"Omari that hurt!" She pouted. He rolled his eyes, pecking her on the cheek before he turned back to driving. H.E.R played throughout the car as Maya hummed softly to the music, Omari rubbing her thigh - only removing his hand when he had to shift gears.

"So you're seriously not gonna let me know where we're going?" Maya questioned. Omari shook his head at her refused to tell Maya 14 minutes ago and his answer hadn't changed since then. Maya pouted shuffling away from him in her seat as much as she could - call her petty if you wanna.

"My father went through a fishing phase," Omari said out of the blue. Maya looked in his direction, raising a brow.

"When I was in middle school, he would always take me out to the small lake in town. He was terrible at it but he convinced himself that he was good," They both chuckled, "One day when we were fishing - I managed to catch a fish. Dad and I pulled the fish out and it went over our heads and into the parking lot. We spent a whole 2 hours searching for it." Omari chuckled. Maya laughed at the story, she could tell that both men shared a deep bond.

"You really love your dad, don't you?" She questioned. Omari nodded solemnly, his grip on Maya's thigh grew tighter.

Omari took a deep breath, "When I was 8 he went to prison." he told. Maya's eyes widened in shock, she turned to Omari. He was staring straight ahead, his grip on the steering wheel tight as if he was afraid of letting it go. The muscle in his jaw ticked violently.

"He was caught with a bag of cocaine while in his homeboys' car. He took the fall for him and got 5 years. I would always blame him for everything. I refused to see him in prison when mama offered to take us." Omari breathed. Maya could see that his eyes were glassy.

"I missed out on a lot of things..." He trailed off. Silence filled up the car - finishing off Omari's words an leaving a thick tension hung instead. Maya placed her miniature hand over his huge one that occupied on her thigh. She stroked the back of it. It said everything that Maya couldn't say but, it was all he needed, Maya was the real deal.

Maya moaned, shifting closer to her source of heat, not noticing that she was no longer in the car. One of her eyes fluttered open - catching a glimpse of King, striding through what looked like a lobby as he clutched Maya tightly to his chest. Maya quickly shut her eyes when she noticed that they were beginning to slow down.

"Bonjour Bienvenue à l'hôtel de confort, have you booked a room?" A preppy voice questioned. Maya fought the urge to open her eyes as she felt Omari's chest rumble as he responded to the woman. Soon they were moving again; she could hear the faint hum of music that accumulated the elevator.

Maya blocked out her senses; snuggling into the warmth of Omari that seemed to consume her. She felt her back come in contact with the comfy feel of the mattress rolling over and moaning into the silky sheets. She heard a door slam shut before the faint vibration of the shower could be heard.

Maya glanced around the room, sitting up slightly. The sun was slowly setting outside over a ray of large glass buildings - the clouds a soft pink. Two orange chairs, that matched the colour of the walls, sat facing the windows idly. A flat-screen TV stood upon a black chest of drawers; the striped carpet consumed the luggage that lied in a heap on the floor.

Box lights hung from the ceiling; illuminating the room. A mirror hung from the wall next to the bed where two wooden side drawers sat empty. The headboard of the bed rose to the ceiling, making her feel minuscule on it. Maya slipped my feet out of the bed and onto the stripy carpet - surprised at the comfy feel. I padded nimbly to the bathroom, opening the door gently.

The fog hit me in the face, causing me to blink. A figure was hunched over in the shower; their head pressed against the cold tiled. Maya cautiously began to strip her clothes off, walking towards the shower and slipping inside. She began to wash them both - ignoring the cold stare that was directed towards her.

Omari watched as Mayalika took care of washing him - as if he was a newborn. No-one in his life apart from his sister had cared for him the way Mayalika did. With her he felt like he didn't need to be King: cold, distant...a killer but Maya brought out a side in him he thought was diminished when Quinn dropped her engagement ring on his coffee table - kissing him farewell.

Lifting her chin, Omari gazed into the eyes of the woman who he had fallen in love with, capturing her lips in a deep passionate kiss. He realized that he couldn't leave her, even if he tried to...

Maya pressed her face against the cool surface of the window, trying to catch a glimpse of where they were going. Omari noticed her sudden silence; pecking her forehead as he clasped her hand gently in his large one. After their 'session' in the shower, Maya and Omari had managed to keep their hands off each other long enough to get changed and slip into the SUV that was waiting for them dutifully outside of the hotel.

Since the shower, something had changed between the two of them - in a good way. They had seemed to grow closer: forming a bond that only they knew existed. Omari soothingly rubbed his thumb in a circular motion on the back of Maya's hand.

Was she this nervous when she had to meet his family?, Omari thought. He shook his thoughts away - it wasn't about him but more for Mayalika than him.

"Maya?" He glanced in her direction. He stubbly pressed the divider. He unbuckled Maya; hauling her into his lap so that she was straddling him.

Maya rolled her eyes, "Really Omari?" He ignored her, planting his hands on her thick thighs, rubbing them gently. Maya fought the urge to moan out loud when his hand crept into her dress. She wore a yellow two-piece dress that had a high slit that ended at her hip. Her strappy heels matched.

Omari had fought the urge to groan when he had seen her emerge from the closet. Omari, on the other hand, had simply worn a T-shirt and khaki shorts, like his suits it made him even more appealing.

"Calm down." He whispered. Maya groaned, trying to pull away - only to be pulled firmly back onto his lap. Maya had only been abroad once in her entire life and that was because her mother had been arrested for drinking and nobody else was available. This was her first time away with Omari also.

"How can I when I don't even know where we are?!" She proclaimed, throwing her hand up in frustration. To say Maya had lived in this city for nearly 21 years - Omari was surprised that she hadn't figured it out yet.

"You'll find out in due time." He mumbled against her lips. Maya leaned in, capturing his lips in a deep kiss. Omari moaned as the creature in his pants began to slowly awaken. He wrapped his hand around the back of her neck - pulling her closer. Maya opened her mouth, inviting in the warm sensation of his tongue; letting him dominate the kiss.

Maya arched her back, moaning loudly - rubbing her hot core against his penis. Just as Maya was about to take it to the next level, a sharp knock sounded on the pane of the window. Maya felt herself become flustered as she jumped away from Omari, hurriedly fixing herself.

"Yes!" Omari snapped. Now, not only was he sexually frustrated but he now had a raging boner that was aching to be released. The car door swung open, the driver stood outside a blush flushing his pale red face. Omari slipped out of the car; gently tugging Mayalika out after him.

Maya took one glance before her narrowed eyes landed on Omari, who was speaking to the driver.

"YOU BAST-" She bellowed only to be cut off by a high pitch squeal.

"Mayalika? Is that you baby?" The woman sought, the sound of her sharp heels ringing through the garden. The woman ran towards them, her long brown hair trailing behind her gracefully. She pulled Maya into her arms; her cries muffled on Mayalika's shoulder. She sent a firm glare to Omari - wishing she could kill him.

"My baby's come home!" The woman sobbed.

Vanessa gazed at her youngest child, ignoring the look of complete frustration that clouded her face. They were all sitting in the den - a glass of wine in each of their hands. Maya's untouched. She sat rigidly next to Omari, who was chatting away to her mother, narrowing her eyes on him every time he tried to slip his arm around her waist.

"So how long are you guys in town for?" Vanessa questioned. Omari glanced down at Maya who raised her brow in question at him.

Omari chuckled, "A week." Maya huffed morosely at his statement scooting somewhat away from him. Omari drew her back towards him; securing a firm grip on her waist - despite her objections.

Vanessa leaped up from her seat, clasping her hands together in pleasure, "Oh good! That means your going to be able to attend dinner. My husbands returning home from one of his business trips." Vanessa grinned slyly before turning to Mayalika, "Could you give me a hand with dinner. The cooks sick and your siblings will be arriving soon..." Maya nodded solemnly, trudging into the kitchen in her mother's wake.

Maya heard the sound of the door slam and the faint mumble. She cast her eyes downwards in the direction of the cookies she was piling onto the tray. Since Maya returned she was surprised at her sudden warmth towards her when she would usually act so cold. Especially on the day, Maya left.

She shook her head of her thoughts, slipping the tray into the full oven before moving her way towards the potatoes that were waiting to be peeled and mashed. Her mother's version of giving her a hand with dinner meant Maya doing most of the work while she greeted her other children that arrived. Malaki and Omari were currently having a conversation while Malaki's daughter played with her tablet.

"AUNTY!!" Maya heard the sound of small feet pattering against the floor before she saw her nephew appear; barrelling himself into Mayalika and nearly knocking her off her feet. Maya smiled, throwing Luke into the air - watching as he squealed in delight.

When Maya placed him back on the floor he stated, "Dad said you couldn't make it." Maya rose her brow in questioning.

"I wasn't but since I was close by I changed my mind," She lied.

"Clearly." Jerome said, sauntering into the kitchen and pulling his little sister in for a hug, "What's this mum's saying about you having a boyfriend?" He challenged. Mayalika rolled her eyes before pushing him away. It was typical: since she was the youngest, her elder brothers protected her and her sister (but mainly Mayalika). It was one of the reasons her sister loathed her.

"Ma left you to do all this..." He trailed off looking around the kitchen. It was filled to the brim with an assortment of dishes - one of which his mother had managed to make (a fruit salad). Maya's hair now stuck to her flushed face as she hurried around the kitchen trying to make sure nothing burned or overflowed.

"She never changed." Maya chuckled bitterly.

Jerome shook his head before taking his coat off and handing it to his son, "Put this in the closet. Tell your mum to come to the kitchen as well, Luke." Luke nodded before hurrying off to fulfil his duties. Jerome nudged Maya over with his hip; taking over stirring the sauce.

"I've got you, Mymy." Jerome chuckled as Maya hit him with the spoon. Together they made the food, along with the help of Jerome's wife - despite their mother's protests.

"So what did you say you did for a living, King?" Vanessa questioned, scooping salad onto her empty plate. Everyone was now sitting around the table - a few chairs were still empty as some of them hadn't arrived yet. King was placed next to Omari (despite her reluctance) and was trying her hardest not to react to Omari's intoxicating touch.

Omari coughed, his left hand slipping down to cup her thigh, "Well I own a chain of businesses such as restaurants, hotels and small shops. Răbdare is my most popular one yet." He replied smoothly ignoring the heated gaze of Mayalika and her brothers.

Vanessa's eyes widened in shock, "Oh really?! I just ate at Răbdare with my daughter yesterday. The spicy dumplings are to die for." She took a great liking to Omari, chatting away merrily to him while he only listened with half an ear. A sharp knock sounded at the door, making everyone settle.

"I'll go see who it is..." Malakai stated, standing up abruptly and skipping to the front door. When he had left, Vanessa turned her attention towards her Javion, quizzing him on how his business was going.

Omari leaned down, whispering into Mayalika's ear, "Your mum seems to like me," He nipped at the lobe of her ear stubbly - grinning when he felt her shudder. Maya rolled her eyes before pulling out of his grasp.

"Well that makes one of us..." She mumbled. Malakai entered the room again with a woman and a man in toe. Maya tensed; inhaling sharply as she made eye contact with the man. He was a middle aged man with a nose that looked as if had seen better days. Omari narrowed his eyes at the man who had such an effect on Mayalika.

Vanessa glanced up at the newcomers, "Finally! We were all waiting for you darling!" She exclaimed pulling her daughter in for a hug. The girl smiled, embracing Vanessa, her husband letting his hand drop down to middle of her back. His eyes caught Omari's smirking as he saw him sitting next to Mayalika.

"Paul. Paul White." He smiled, pushing his hand out for Omari to shake. He glanced down at the stubby pink hand, nodding his head in a greeting before whispering in Mayalika's ear. Aware of the attention from the man and his wife. Xamilia narrowed her eyes at the sight of her sister with the handsome man as she took her seat.

"Who are we waiting for?" Abba huffed, gazing at the display of food that was spread out across the table. Vanessa smiled tightly at her, stabbing her food.

"My husband and then we can all move towards desert." She said lightly. Mayalika coughed into her napkin when she felt Omari's hands wander up her inner thigh. She clenched her thighs together - glaring at him before shuffling away slightly. She was still silently seething at him.

Omari chuckled at her actions, 'wait till we get back to the hotel', he thought to himself.

Paul observed the couple with intensity: his eyes trained on Mayalika who shifted uncomfortably in her seat under the scrutiny of his glare. Maya smiled when Tabitha told her a simple joke - blending in with the family. It's what Xamilia hated about her. She was always so perfect, it made her sick.

"Omari is it?" Xamilia questioned, causing everyone to snap their heads in her direction. Omari tore his gaze away from Mayalika, staring into the grey eyes of her sister who looked identical to her mother - the only difference being Xamilia's hair was short and black.

"Yes." he answered.

Xamilia traced the rim of her wine glass, "How did you meet my sister?" she smiled falsely at the couple. Her mask slipping slightly, revealing her true colours. The tension in the room was so thick it could be cut with a butter knife. Malakai could see the situation was about to turn dark.

"Xamilia," He warned, narrowing his eyes on her.

She held up her hands, "What I just want to know if you claimed he-" she was cut off by the door. The tension in the room decreased slightly. After a moment of silence a man strolled into the room, his face lit with glee. He glanced around the room - noticing the tension.

"Why the long faces." He pulled the cheek of his grandaughter - smiling when she giggled. As if a spell had been casted the tension lifted and everyone resumed their conversations.

Vanessa stood up to greet her husband, "Baby! Would you like some-"

"We need to talk," He whispered, gently grabbing her forearm. Vanessa smiled, it didn't reach her eyes, narrowing her eyes at him in suspicion.

"What do you mean?" She giggled, "I know you must be tired from your flight-"

He shook his head in frustration, "Vanessa. I'm serious we nee to talk-" he was cut off by a sultry voice and the sound of sharp heels. A slim woman entered the room, her red lips set in a smile as she walked towards Omari planting a kiss on his lips.

"Hey baby, you ready to go?" She questioned, glancing around at the family who were watching the scene with curiosity. Abba smiled sipping her wine - shit was about to go down.

Vanessa curled her lip, "Who is this?" she snarled at the Barbie that stood in front of her. The girl removed her glasses, her green eyes piercing Vanessa's as she gave her a once over. Maya couldn't help but admire the girl who had draped herself around her father. She was a slim girl with dark black hair that was neatly pressed and curled. Her cheekbones were high, highlighting her cat-like green eyes that hinted curiosity.

"His girl and who might you be?" She inquired. Vanessa's eyes widened in shock as she looked at the couple that stood before her. Every watched as Cain whispered in the woman's ear - gently pecking her temple before watching her sashay out of the room, throwing a quick glance at the bewildered family.

Cain gently grabbed Vanessa's wrist, pulling her out of the dining room and in the direction of the study - his study. As they left the room, the feud between Xamilia and Mayalika seemed to be long forgotten as they all stared after the couple.

"It was a long time coming." Abba smiled ruefully, pouring herself another glass of wine. Everyone nodded silently in agreement, stabbing at their food as they continued their solemn conversations. Omari gently slipped his hand into Mayalika's - placing a small kiss on the back. The faint sound of yelling could be heard.

Paul smiled at Mayalika, his eyes lighting up when she shifted uncomfortably in her
