'What you did, no

Yeah, you know I love you but I can't forgive it

You could tell me stay, but I have to go

'Cause I would not expect someone to stay around

If I let them down, oh'

Omari shut the door smoothing a hand over his waves, emitting a deep sigh. He grimaced. Something wasn't right - he could feel it and he had a reason to be.

There before his eyes were the paternity papers sitting on top of the coffee table, his eyes widened in shock as realization dawned on him. Mayalika. He snatched up the papers.

Probability of Paternity = 99.999999%

He was the father.

Reign was his daughter.

King blinked back tears, sitting on the love seat as he buried his head in his hands in disbelief. He was too consumed in his thoughts to notice that Mayalika had walked into the room and sat on the sofa across from him, a small glass of white wine held aloft in her hand which she absentmindedly swirled around.

The silence suffocating.

She observed him with pursed lips, watching as he took shaky breaths his eyes trained on the floor. She took a small sip, conscious of the way its burn didn't cool the fire that burned her throat; threatening to choke her.

"I'm a father."  Omari finally whispered.

"I'm a father."

It sunk in. He was responsible for a life. Finally looking up he stared into Maya's blank eyes that only mere hours ago were bright and cheerful. He sighed raking his hand over his waves, tugging his bottom lip into his mouth.

"Mayalika I-"

She shook her head, "I'm not mad." She stated softly. He raised an eyebrow in surprise. Maya laughed bitterly, taking a sip of her wine, her eyes trained on Omari as she smiled ruefully.

"I'm truly not mad."

She pointed at him shakily, "All I ask of you is to be honest - keep me involved and yet you...didn't trust me enough to tell me that you were having thoughts that Reign was your daughter." She took another sip.

Omari watched silently as Maya shakily lifted the cup to her lips, taking another long drink before staring back at Omari with a hardened gave.

"I'm not mad simply...hurt."

Omari nodded, "I understand I don't expect you not to be," He mumbled, "I'm not used to this Mayalika...trusting someone enough to tell them everything about me being so...vulnerable. I promise you to try." He said in a steady voice.

Maya laughed bitterly, "You want to try now?" She nodded to herself as if thinking it over before letting out a snort of laughter.

"I don't believe you." She stated firmly before standing up, leaving the room. Silence settling in her wake.

That night when King slipped into bed beside Mayalika he could feel nothing but the cold air that separated them.

"Show me," Maya whispered.

Omari hummed in response shifting so that he no longer faced the ceiling but was gazing at Mayalika who was expectantly looking at him.

"I want you to show me that your willing to fulling invest. I...I can't do this anymore Omari." She whispered her voice cracking slightly. Omari pulled her into his embrace so that he could feel her tears staining his bare chest.

"I promise I will Mayalika, I promise." She gazed up into his eyes, amazed by the amount of raw love and promise that filled them.

She captured his lips, letting him roll on top of her. Their kiss was slow and passionate their bodies pushing against each other with need and intensity. Mayalika's hands gently roamed the smooth canvas of Omari's toned chest as they both roamed each other.

Omari's kisses went lower; sending Mayalika into overdrive as her eyes rolled into the back of her head. She was on cloud 9, what with the buzz of the alcohol fuelling her system

They connected that night, in more mays than one...

They laid a mass of tangled limbs after 4 passionate rounds. Omari soothingly stroked Mayalika's back pecking her forehead as she emitted soft snores. He smiled gently to himself at how lucky he had gotten to have someone as amazing as Mayalika in his embrace.

He gently pecked her forehead. Omari intended to keep his promise. He knew that Mayalika was the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and now that he had a child to think about he knew he had to tell Mayalika about his line of business.

Especially if he was considering leaving it just for her...
