Year ????
???? days to The Cataclysm

If the curious mind finds itself flipping through the very first pages of history, they will find the nothingness, which was the universe at the time. Somewhere along the line, there was an explosion. This event led to the formation of numerous planets and sent them to float in the endless abyss of space.

These planets were incapable of harboring life, all but one. To date, it remains unnamed, and the details of its civilization are hard to come across.

Inevitably, the processes that lead to the current existence commenced. It all started with subatomic beings which scientists later decided to call the 'Precursors.' These would eventually evolve into a more complex and humanoid species now known as the 'Progenitors.'

The Progenitors civilization had reached the pinnacle of development, and subsequently, the cycle of life came full circle as well. A planetary level natural disaster struck, wiping out most life and splitting the planet into dozens of smaller fragments, but only two of them were able to sustain life.

These planets were Eros and Xenos. It is a common myth that a third such fragment exists, but it still remains a myth to date.

Though the natural disaster wiped out most of existence, a minimal number of Precursors survived on either planet and restarted the cycle of life.

Eros retained some of the technology from its previous planet and evolution of life on it was dependent on this remnant technology. Over the years, this dependency led to the Sapiocytes, gaining the ability to be affected by an environmental stimulus. The exploitation of this ability led to the invention of the Imperium.

The process of building an Imperium remains a well-protected secret of Skafos, yet, one can theorize that it affects the molecular structure of a Sapiocyte to gain abilities similar to a Xenocyte. This theory is widely accepted among scientists worldwide as it fits in with a Sapiocyte's ability to be affected by an environmental stimulus, and in this specific case, the Imperium acts as an environmental stimulus.

On the other end of the spectrum, Xenos retained none of its former technology. Instead, it was a planet of varying conditions all of which were harsh and were of four main types;

The Land of Inextinguishable Flames, The Land of Unassailable Tornadoes, The Land of Thunderous Lightning and The Land Multitudinous Iron.

The precursors residing in these areas evolved into their respective Homo Xenocytes; Fire, Wind, Lightning, and Iron. In stark contrast to Sapiocytes, who gained the ability to be affected by their environment, Xenocytes gained the ability to affect their environment.

A poem, titled 'The Requiem of Creation' is a standard piece of literature used to retell the story of Xenos.

The Requiem of Creation:

Fire, Wind, Lightning, and Iron.

These tribes were nothing but pugnacious.

Throats were slit and melancholy bestrewed,

All for reasons, that were nothing but rapacious.

To attain more power, the tribes formed factions.

Lighting and Iron, Fire and Wind

But as their power heightened,

So did their actions.

Blood was shed.

Lives were lost.

To conclude this war,

The king of fire decided to accost.

With the queen of lightning,

A pact he arranged.

But to each other, they took a liking

and thus were called deranged.

Cast out, in the lands of the unowned,

A child was born, the child of destiny,

And on learning his parent's plight,

He set out to end this mutiny.

He commanded space and time.

With which he concluded the war,

and all its meaningless fighting.

He became a God

Jupiter was his name.

When the tribes banded together

The throne he did claim.

Years passed, his body perished.

But the power he split,

In four mystical spirits.

Two space, and two time

Cursed were they

Who sought this power

But three brave men,

Chose not to cower.

Fulgora, Vulcan, And Vespa

Were their names.

They soon found the spirits,

And Jupiter's power, they did claim.

Vulcan and Fulgora consumed fire and lightning,

So the Archangels they became

Vespa, the Phoenix, consumed the rest.

and was first to take the blame.

True to his word

Cursed were they

To the confines of purgatory

Where they remain astray.

And so they fought

Transcending the boundaries of the afterlife.

Possessing living beings,

To carry on their plight.

Bestowing their borrowed powers

for a cycle of endless fights.

While the battles between the Phoenix and the Archangels continued, a certain family of Xenocytes, the Thanatos family gained power and began to take over Xenos.

To avoid living under their rule, a group of Xenocytes escaped Xenos on a spaceship. Since the spacecraft was the first of it's kind, it was unstable and ended up crash landing on an unknown planet, which they later found out to be Eros.

The Sapiocytes residing in Eros welcomed their accidental visitors with open arms and gave them homes to live in, but if there is one thing consistent about history, it is that it always repeats itself.

Somewhere along the line, Xenocytes realized that the Sapiocytes didn't stand a chance against them and started a rebellion to take over Eros. In a desperate attempt to survive, the Imperium was invented which closed the power gap, but the war still continued.

For 13 years the fighting didn't end, until two unnamed Sapiocytes emerged, wielding the legendary skotono; The skotono of shadows, Kurokami and the Skotono of diamonds, Shirozou.

These two Sapiocytes ended the war and finally bestowed long-lasting peace, and that is how Eros became the planet it is today.
