I turn around when I hear my name being called. I face Kameron and he walks over to me before wrapping his arms around me.

"We called off the wedding before we even announced it to the media. It's why I didn't think it was a big deal for you to know.", Kameron says.

I stay quiet. What could I say? It hurt knowing that Kameron has been engaged before but at dinner with his parents he seemed horrified at the thought of marriage.

Maybe it was just marriage with me.

My stomach twisted and turned.

"You hesitated to tell her about me.", I begin. "You were embarrassed by me and our baby. I'm going home, Kameron.", I say.

"What? No, no, why?"

I remove his hands from my hips.

"I don't belong here. We, don't belong here.", I explain.

Kameron shakes his head and grabs me again, pulling me to him.

"I don't want you to go."

"Kameron, that girl is hot. Movie star girlfriend or wife, hot. I'm just me. I'm just an average girl who just accidentally got pregnant by you.", I say. 

"No, you're not. Amelia, you are gorgeous and it's not even about looks. It's who you are. You're right you are just you and that's what I adore. Please don't go.", Kameron says.

"Maddie is already on her way. Look, we won't set up any flights yet until we do the DNA test. Once that is over and you find out that this baby is yours we'll leave. You just wanted clarity, you won't want us. If you did the way you act in public would the same as when we are alone.", I sigh.

I get out of his arms and begin to walk away. Maybe I was over reacting, maybe I wasn't. But the way Kameron looked when he say Tana showed me that a part of him missed her. I was already putting me and my baby's feelings in jeopardy hoping that Kameron would want us, and I wasn't going to put us in any deeper.

I waited outside for Maddie to pull up which didn't take long. She got out of the car and walked over to me.

"What happened?", she asks.

"I just met Kameron's ex-fiancé.", I say.

"He was engaged?", she asks shocked.

"Seems so. She's pretty, Maddie. I can't compete with that.", I say.

Maddie hugs me.

"You aren't competing with anyone, Amy. Not her, not anyone. Just because she's good looking doesn't mean anything. Okay? Tomorrow is your gender reveal so let's be happy. You're going to find out what you're having!", Maddie smiles.

"You're right. Kameron's parents are coming in late tonight so you'll get to meet them.", I say.

"See, be happy. You love his parents so don't stress okay?"

Maddie drives us back home and I walk inside straight to my room. I take a quick shower before putting on sweatpants and a oversized t-shirt that fits only a tiny bit big since my belly takes up most of it. I pull my hair into a messy bun and then slip on my sandals.

I walked downstairs and towards the living room. I heard giggles and my body became tense. Without stopping I looked around and stopped in my tracks when I saw Maddie sitting on the couch with a guy.

"Amelia, come here.", Maddie said.

I walked over to her and sat down next to her.

"This is Daniel."

"Oh, Kameron's friend. Hi.", I smile.

He shakes my hand gently.

"You must be the lucky girl pregnant with my best friends baby.", Daniel says.

"I am. Although it wasn't planned.", I laugh.

Daniel chuckles. He seemed very sweet so far.

"Daniel and I have been setting up things for tomorrow. He's been a great help with decorations that you're not allowed to go out back and see.", Maddie warns.

"Okay.", I laugh.

"Kameron is a lucky guy. I'm really happy for you both. Maddie won't budge on telling me what you're having but personally I think you're going to have a girl. Kameron seems like a girl dad.", Daniel says.

Maddie smiles at him. "No one shall know the baby's gender except me, until tomorrow. Daniel here is just jealous that I'm the only person in the world who has this information except for your doctors."

Maddie gets up and offers to grab us something to drink. When she walks away I turn to Daniel.

"So, I thought you were dating Katie?", I ask.

"No, I mean, we did date for a while but we are better off as friends.", Daniel replies.

"Good to know. Now, I may be pregnant and all, but Daniel you hurt my best friend, I'm coming after you and I will kick your ass. Me and my baby. Understand?", I warn.

"Yes ma'am", Daniel says.

"Great!", I smile.

As if on cue, Maddie walks in with water bottles. When she hands me on I thank her.

"I should go, I'm going to pick up Kameron's parents. He should have been home by now but oh well.", I say.

"Want us to come with?", Maddie asks.

"No, it's okay."

I know that they didn't want to come. They wanted to be alone while they could. Plus, Kameron is late and his parents are waiting at the air port.

"Amelia, sweetheart.", Trisha says pulling me into a hug.

"I've missed you guys.", I say hugging her back then moving to Ralph.

When we pull back from the hug they look behind me to try and find Kameron.

"He was late to come home. He had a meet and greet then met an old friend.", I explain.

"Oh honey. You shouldn't be driving.", Trisha says.

"She can drive, Trish. Fully capable of it but you're not driving home or anytime while we are here. Yes you can drive, doesn't mean you will.", Ralph says. He pecks the top of my head.

I smile and pop the trunk so they can put their bags in. Trisha goes to the back seat and Ralph takes the drivers seat.

"Trisha, you should sit up front. I can sit in back.", I say.

"No, It's alright. Go sit up front.", she says.

Take take the seat and Ralph begins to drive to Kameron's house. The ride was full of laughter and conversation about the things they have done since we left. It made me feel good that I could connect with them and click with their positivity. I really enjoyed their company.

When we pull up to the house Kameron walked outside.

"I am so sorry.", Kameron said. "I lost track of time.", 

We all get out of the car and I look at Kameron.

"I bet.", I say.

His eyebrows furrow then he goes to help his mother with bags. She swats his hands away and protests.

"I can do it!", she says.

Ralph shrugs then they walk towards the house.

"Amy.", Kameron says. "I'm sorry. You shouldn't have gone to pick them up."

"They are family. I can't just leave them at the air port.", I say.

I push past him and towards the house. Maddie holds the door open for them, I walk over and make sure to introduce them to each other before leading them to the guest room that they will stay in. I felt a little better having them here with us.
