The dark Audi sped smoothly on the highway. Yafi had a satisfied look on his face as he held the file. Finally.

After going through so much he had finally gotten back his files. All this unnecessary nuisance had been a real test to his patience. And all because of that damned girl.

He paused at her remembrance. Her tied up in that dangerous basement. The men seemed like they wanted to kill her. A strange glint appeared in his eyes for a milisecond. A guilt tugging at his heart. Was he concerned for her?

No, of course not. And even if they do kill her, they'd only be doing the world some good by getting rid of that crazy lunatic of a girl.

"Finally we got the file, sir!" Ghani from the driver seat, however, felt like a child on Eid. This mess was all his fault, it felt like a weight had lifted of his shoulders. The weight of his looming death at the hands of Yafi.

Yafi shot him mocking glare. "Finally..." After countless days wasted!

Ghani shut his mouth.

Yafi focused on his main agenda and pulled out the files from the bag before throwing it aside and flipping the papers open.

Only to freeze.

The relieved and content aura of the car seemed to crack all of a sudden.

His knuckles whitened as his hold on the file tightened, crumpling it.

The earlier softness in his eyes hardened into crystals before shattering in coldness.

The file was empty.

He closed his eyes, letting out a heavy breath, patience wearing dangerously thin.

She had tricked them again.

"Turn the car around." He gritted. He was going to absolutely kill her with his own hands!!

"What?" Ghani, who had been thinking of the feast of victory he was going to eat today, looked back confused.

Seeing the blazing rage of his master however he turned the car around in the middle of the highway without another question.

The bouncers eyes widened again seeing the same dark cars return. What the heck did they want now?

It was like deja vu. As they broke their way in yet again, the gangster who had barely bandaged themselves up were beat up once again. They were almost at tears now. Just what did they want from them!

Yafi strode in through the already broken doors. His anger however dissipated at the sight inside.

There she lay on the ground as a gunman stood beside her with terror on his face at their sudden return.

Yafi felt his heart drop at her unconscious figure. Earlier wrath replaced by alarm and shock.

No... This can't be...

He grabbed the gangster standing there by the collar and slammed him against the wall with a force that dented both the wall and the man's back.

"You fucking killed her already???"

The man who had the fear for his life reflecting in his eyes shook his head vigorously. "N..n..n.nno!!"

But it was as if he was looking at the vengeful devil himself. The sheer wrath in his eyes could set him on fire. He could see his incoming doom.

"Sh-sh-she's alive!!" He pleaded out for dear life. "I-I swear!!"

Yafi's grip on him loosened, the fire slightly dampened but suspicion still floated in his irises.

Ghani stepped forth to check her pulse and nodded at him, "She's alive."

An audible breath of relief escaped the young politician.

Nonetheless he punched the gangster, knocking him out with one blow. And then ever so nonchalantly he turned to walk back out the door, ordering Ghani to get Ryan.

Ghani only looked at him with innocent blinking eyes. As if he had asked the impossible of him. "I can't pick her.'

Yafi, already frustrated, looked at the edge of being pissed off. "She's not made out of thorns. Just get her to the car."

Ghani looked utterly distraught. "No thorns maybe But she's a witch! Full of evil spirits!"

And that was how Yafi was walking out of the rusty club with her in his arms.

His teeth gritted with an intensity that could shatter a rock between them. A part of him wanted strangle that girl then and there. He glanced down at her derisively.  There was a bump on her forehead but luckily no blood. Her eyelashes tickled her cheeks where faded fingerprints from a slap lied. And her glossed lips hung agape, bunny teeth peaking. Her wild hair hung down and despite the chic leather jacket she looked far too cute.

Witchcraft.  Ghani's words rang in Yafi's mind and he quickly looked away, tossing her like a sack of potatoes on his shoulder instead.

As they climbed into the car. Ghani looked confused. "Where to sir, now?"

Yafi glanced at the girl lying unconscious beside him. But this time looked away quickly.

"The hospital."

"What about the files?"

"She has to be alive in order for me to get the files." Yafi silenced his idiot of a guard.

Yafi glared at him through the rear view mirror making him shut his trap.  The car quietly roared towards the hospital.

She squinted her eyes, till the blurriness subsided and she registered the white ceilings and walls. Noises were sounding from around her.

Memories of the past events rushed in her mind and she jolted up in the bed, immediately holding her throbbing head afterwards.

"Argghhh." She groaned, holding her forehead to realize it was bandaged.

She looked around, eyes widening seeing she was in the hospital room. How did she end up here?

Her mind clicked.

A shrill scream echoed in the ward. A few nurses and doctors ran into the source's room.

"Oh my God they stole my kidneys and organs!!!" The journalist wailed out loud, clutching her abdomen. "I feel so empty, oh my Allah my liverr!!"

The doctors looked at her with worry, muttering to the nurse. Did they misplace a psych ward patient?

Yafi entered the room with snacks and fruits in his hands only to halt in his steps. All the doctors, nurses, staff and even a few patients were busy consoling a hysteric Ryan.

She cried in panic and horror. "They must have taken my womb too!! How much does a womb sell for??? Ya Allah, my kids are gone!!!"

Yafi blinked in disbelief. What in the world?

"La holla wallah quwata!" Beside him Ghani ran out of the ward covering his ears.

"My liver is gone, my kidneys are gone, my womb too! My lungs are gone too! And my eyes!" Ryan touched her eyes to confirm thier presences, "My eyes are still here! But my organs! How am I going to live now! I will soon die an empty woman!" She wailed hysterically, ignoring everybody's consolation.

"You are completely fine." Yafi's authoritative voice tore through the noise in the room.

Ryan's head snapped at the familiar voice. Her tears pausing for a second as her wet eyes looked at yafi anxiously. "Huh?" Her broken voice came out choked with tears.

Yafi rolled his eyes.

"Yes," the nurse hurried to console her, "this was the sir that brought you here. Your organs are all fine. There is nothing missing. And you can still have kids."

It was a sight worth seeing as relief spread over her tear-stained face. She hugged her stomach. "Oh my babies!!"

Yafi clenched his teeth in secondhand embarrassment. Why in the world did he have to be entangled with this lunatic of a girl!

The doctors too breathed in relief, while the patients cheered her on before going to their respective beds.

"But wait!" Ryan called out to the nurse again making Yafi hold his forehead.

"You need to do an HIV test!" God knows what kind of people that gag was used on before!

"We've already done one at this Sir's request. And it's negative."  The nurse responded gesturing at Yafi.

Ryan looked at Yafi in surprise. He actually listened to her. And her surprise morphed into shock seeing the donuts and fruits in his hands.

Was she dreaming? Perhaps she couldn't survive the organ removals and died on the table and this is all the afterlife.

Yafi rolled his eyes at her bewildered expression. Taking a seat as the doctors performed their check up.

"You've suffered quite a blow to the head, but luckily everything is alright. You only have a mild concussion. So you need to stay under observation." They announced before leaving the room.

But Ryan couldn't care less about anything now. About any missing organs or concussions. All she cared about were the donuts she was stuffing in her mouth.

Yafi waited patiently by her side. He looked in shock as she finished every last of the 8 donuts. Did she have a blackhole for a stomach or what?

Shaking his head he focused on the real thing. "Now, if you're done eating and crying, tell me where my papers are."

Ryan froze. She swallowed heavily.

Finally she looked up, a lost look in her eyes.

"What papers?"

Yafi paused. He had to double check if her heard right. "MY papers!"

"I'm sorry I have no idea what you're talking about... Or who you are." Ryan blinked her eyes in confusion, holding her head as if in pain. "It must be the concussion."

Yafi scoffed breathlessly at her dramatics.

He was already trying so hard to hold back his rage at having her trick him once again by giving him the empty file. And she was not doing anything to help her situation.

Ryan was too busy in her acting display to see the way his nostrils flared or fists clenched.

"I know you don't have any memory loss. Stop playing with me, you won't be able to take it." He gritted.

But Ryan carried on obliviously. "Ah... I have these weird black and white flashbacks but nothing makes sense!"

In a second he was up and hovering over her, leaving her breathless and alarmed. His furious eyes unfolded on her sheepish ones. Her foxy eyes turning into a Bambi's in a second, under his lion-like glare.

"I'll give you one last chance. Tell me where my papers are?" His rageful voice had her blood running cold.

Ryan's heart thudded loudly under him.

"I...I.. d-dont..."

"If you want to get out of here alive, tell me where my papers are."

Ryan still pursed her lips.

Yafi's jaw clenched. Her defiance didn't amuse him anymore. Instead, it pissed him off. He was done waiting.

"Fine then."

And the next Ryan's yelp was muffled in her mouth by his hand, as his other hand held a gun to her head.

"The moment I leave your mouth the only thing that needs to come out is my file's location. Anything other than that and I will pull this trigger. And you know I can." He raised his brows emphatically, making her nod in panic.

Slowly he slipped away his hand.

A scream sounded but it was muffled again quickly.

She was the stubbornest girl he had ever met!

Yafi's eyes blazed with fury, as he unlocked the safety on the gun and pressed it harder against her head.

This time Ryan felt her heart jump to her throat. Her wide reddened eyes pleaded him.

His stormy orbs narrowed emphatically, finger threateningly close to the trigger.

She quickly nodded her head.

Yafi slowly removed his hand from her mouth, the gun still in place as he had zero trust on her.

"The file... it's... its in my office." She finally said.

The suspicion in Yafi's eyes didn't leave however. Pulling back the gun he phoned someone while Ryan watched with bated breath.

"Go and check her office for the file."

Ryan gulped. The gun in the room was like an elephant that hanged her senses. He was in all his killer mode right now. What if he actually killed her here. There was no one around and it was the hospital, he could easily frame her death with any lie.

She got up off the bed to leave quietly.  But he blocked her way making her jump back.

"I-I told you about the file. I need to leave now. My parents would be waiting..." Ryan tried to keep her voice steady.

"You're not leaving." Yafi announced, shocking her. "Not until my men find the file."

Ryan gaped at him.

And lunged for the door.

Yafi effortlessly pulled her back and made her sit on the bed.

Ryan looked at him like a thief caught red-handed.

"Now, you better spill the truth. You can't leave until I have it in my hands." Yafi sat leisurely on the sofa in front of her as if he had all the time in the world.

Ryan felt like a helpless turtle that had toppled over. And had absolutely no way to go. She couldn't believe this criminal was going to win at last. She had yet to avenge the dead body in the woods.

But what could she do.

Wetting her lips she tried to resolve the conflict in her.

If she tells him the truth, she'll never be able to bring his true face out to the public. She would have no leverage over him anymore.
But if she doesn't tell the truth,... her eyes fell on the pistol in his hands.

Gulping she finally uttered, "it's...it's in a locker."

Yafi's eyes lightened. Like a thirsty man finally finding his oasis.

About half an hour later the door knocked and walked in Ghani with thay very familiar file.

Ryan's shoulders slumped in defeat. All her hardwork was for nought. This corrupt criminal got away.

As Yafi flipped through the file with a relieved look, Ryan slowly tiptoed out of there.

She had to get out before he found the coffee-ruined page.

Just as she reached the end of the hallway a loud yell echoed around making her jump in her skin.

"RYAN SIDDIQUE!"

He found it.
