Mona POV

"Hey Ray it's me. It's been a while since I have heard from you and I just wanted to call and check up on you. I miss my friend," I said taking a breath and hanging up the phone.

It had been almost two weeks since the bombing of the hospital and it surprised me he hadn't been around. I had even asked Alexis had she heard from him but she hadn't. I was starting to worry.

"You okay," I heard my mother say from out the kitchen.

"Yeah, just a little worried about Ray. He didn't come to the hospital when I was there and he didn't show up at the funeral. I hadn't heard from him in weeks."

"Maybe he's traveling or something."

"Even when he travels he still normally calls. I know he is checking them because his voicemail isn't full."

"Why don't you go check on him?"

"Now you know Ian has me on lockdown. I would have to take ten bodyguards if I wanted to go anywhere."

Every since the funeral, Ian had become even more protective. At times I thought he was smothering me. Between the FBI, Cason and his army and Ian, my grandparents and mother's house was on guard. Of course my uncle Clarke would always side with Ian. I wouldn't be surprised if they got together and cased the joint.

"I have a feeling something is up. Do you think we may be in danger?" My mother asked worriedly.

"Of course according to Ian. He has been so intense since the bombing that I am getting worried about him."

"You should talk to him and figure out what is going on. I know how distraught he was about the baby but I thought maybe the reunion with his mother would have lightened his mood."

"I thought so too. She really is sweet."

"I can see where he got his kindness from."

"Me too," I said throwing my plate away.

I headed upstairs to my room to see Ian sound a sleep. My little sleeping giant looked really cute when he slept. It had been a few days since the funeral and last night was the first time I had seen Ian since then. I heard him when he came in last night but there was a look of discombobulation across his face until it was almost scary. It was a look of malevolence, anger and sorrow. I could see the wheels turning in his head but I left him alone.

I walked over to the bed and stripped down to my underwear and climbed in next to him. He had been my rock for so long, know it was time for me to be his. I eased in closer as my head rested in the crook of his neck and I let my arm rest across his massive chest. I rested there rubbing up and down his chest. I wanted to wake him but in a gentle way.

His hand moved as it rested on top of mine. He began to stroke my arm as he turned and pulled me in a tight embrace. No words were exchanged as I stopped and held him in my arms.

"Good morning love," he whispered in my ear.

"Good morning," I said starting to feel his lips against my skin. The doctor had given his blessing for Ian and I to return to our love making but I still had to be careful. I could tell you right now I was getting very excited.

I eased out the bed and kissed Mona. I grabbed my boxers and went in the adjourning bathroom.

"Whatcha got."

"Sabrina called in a prescription for little man. We traced it to a pharmacy in New York. The pharmacy will deliver to the hotel she is staying in within the next hour. I have a guy who is going to pretend to be the runner and I think he will lead us to Zara."

This was the break I had been waiting on.

"What do you want me to do with her?"

"Keep her there. I need to get Mona and my mom somewhere safe. Once Zara know we have Sabrina trapped she is coming for us and I don't want them in harms way."

"I think taking them to Wonderland is the safest. I can have men posted and Domi and the guys can watch over them."

"Good idea. I think my mom would progress a little more, plus it's familiar surroundings. I will talk to Mona and call you back."

"Okay I will be waiting."

I hung up with Chase and ran my hands through my hair. I walked back in the bedroom to find Mona leaving a message for someone and calling someone else.

"Lexi have you heard from Ray?"

She took a deep breath.

"Where do you think he could be? I'm worried about him. We have never gone this long without talking to him." (pause)

"I'm going to have Ian take me to his house. I think the spare key is still in the planter. I will call you if I talk to him. Okay," she said hanging up.

Thinking about her conversation it had been a while since I had spoken to Ray. Since he gave me the information right before the explosion I hadn't heard anything.

"You okay?" I asked walking up to her.

"I feel like something is wrong. Ray has never gone this long without talking to me. Even if he was mad at me he would have called me by now. I'm really worried about him. I tried calling but it goes to voicemail and he won't pick up. He never visited me in the hospital and he didn't come to the funeral."

"You say this is not like him."

"No Ian, I think something is wrong."

"Well maybe we should go check on him. Why don't we get dress and we can head over there," I said helping her up as the sheet was now pooled at her feet. Damn my baby's naked body was sexy.

"Eyes up here Mister," she said laughing.

We both showered quickly as it lead to another round of touching. I would give her a chance to heal before we actually had intercourse again. The doctor said two weeks but I would let her initial it.

We jumped in the car as she plugged in the address in the GPS.

"I was thinking that you, my mom and your mom and grandmother could go and stay on the island."

"Wonderland?"

"Yeah. You all have been through so much and Mrs. Ames, Nedra and Domi would be happy to see you all."

"What about your mom? Do they know she is alive?"

"No. It will be the ultimate surprise, don't you think?"

"Most definitely. It's not a bad idea," she said pondering over it.

"How about you all leave tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow?"

"Yes. I can have everything arrange. I can have Nico, Domi or Vlad meet you all at the airport. What do you say?"

"Ian what's going on?"

"With Zara around I just need to make sure you are safe. I just need to follow up on some leads and I will meet you all there in a couple of days."

"A couple of days Ian. You know something and you are not telling me. You promised not to keep things from me."

"You are right and when this is over I will tell you everything I promise. I don't want to compromise you in anyway. Just trust me Mona. Please don't argue with me on this. I need you safe so I can focus. Worrying about you not being protected will drive me crazy."

She looked at me with narrow eyes. I looked back at her with pleading eyes.

"You promise?"

"Scouts honor."

"I will talk to my mom and grandmother and see if they want to come."

"That's my girl. If anyone can convince them it's you."

"Ian stop trying to flatter me."

"Is it working?" I said smiling. She began to laugh and I knew I had gotten to her.

We pulled up to Ray's house and the lights were off. I parked the car as she tried calling him again.

"Still no answer," she said getting out the car.

We walked up to the front as I had my gun in the back of my jeans. She grabbed the spare key and opened the door. The alarm chirped as she quickly put in the code.

"He hasn't changed this code in ten years," she said laughing. The alarm went to green and we walked in.

The kitchen was clean as she walked in and peeked in the window of his garage.

"His car is here. I wonder what is going on," she said worriedly.

"Stay behind me," I said taking my gun out.

"Oh my god where did you get that gun from?"

"Shhh Mona."

She kept behind me as she grabbed on to the back of my shirt. We walked in some more and everything looked to be in place.

"His office is through there," she said pointing at the closed door.

I opened it up and saw papers everywhere.

"What the hell?" she said turning on the light. Once the room was lit we were both taken back.

"Ian are you seeing what I am seeing?"

"Wait, Ray is working for my father?" I said walking up to the pictures of my dad's face. There were several masks along with identification cards, passports and documents.

"This can't be happening? Ray is one of my best friends," she said with shock written across her face.

I walked around the desk to see more evidence that he was working for my father. The answering machine was blinking so I hit play.

"I said two days Ray. I need you to be on that plane by six am tomorrow morning headed to Monterrey. I want everything you promised or you will regret fucking with me," I heard my father's voice echo through the phone.

I grabbed a sheet of paper and wrote the call back number. I also wrote down the place and time Ray was suppose to meet my father.

"Come on let's go," I said pulling Mona by the arm. When we turned around, Ray was in the doorway with his gun pointing straight at us with a shaking hand. I grabbed the gun as it fired.
