How It All Started

BTS was at the peak of their career. They were finally getting some spotlight! Everything was going swell and everyone was busy creating new songs and preparing for future performances. They'd stay up until 2am and wake up after a few hours to continue what they needed to do. The boys were exhausted. Happy, but exhausted.

They didn't have any time to spare for themselves. How could they have time to take care of a child? How did the kid even end up with them?

Jungkook woke up from his nap on the couch due do a ringing sound that just never seemed to end. Groaning, he opened his eyes and his gaze immediately landed on his phone. Someone was calling him. He shot up when he realized who it was.

Eomma

He  sat up straight and answered the call. "Eomma?" He said, rubbing his eyes. His greeting was responded by a happy sigh from his mother. "Ah, Jungkook, my son! Annyeong!" She said, happily. Jungkook lightly chuckled hearing his mom so happy. "Annyeong, Eomma." He replied. "How are you, my son?" She asked. "I'm doing fine. Why the sudden call?" He was curious as to why his mother would call out of nowhere. Was there a problem? Did he miss an important family event?

Her tone suddenly changed and it was more timid.

"Eomma?" Jungkook asked, slowly getting worried.

"You know, Deiji misses you." She said. "She's been missing you a lot these past few weeks."

"I miss her too, Eomma. Tell her I said hello!" He replied. Was that all? Why does it feel like there's more to it?

"Well, you could tell her that yourself." She replied. If it was possible, he could hear her smile through the call. "What do you mean?" Jungkook asked, even more worried. He was replied with a small laugh. "Don't worry about it! Bang-PD already said it was fine!"

"What?" He asked frantically. "Eomma! What do you mean? What does Bang-PD have to do with what you're talking about?" His voice raised a little bit, showing how nervous he got. "Deiji really wanted to see you so I asked if she could come and visit you." The mother replied. Jungkook froze. Sure, he wanted to see her, but what would the others think? What if they don't like her? What if she bothers them? He'll get all the blame at the end of the day.

"But, Eomma..."

"No buts! Don't brush her away. She misses you a lot, you know. If Bang-PD said it was okay, then you can't complain." His mother said, sternly.

They talked for a bit more and eventually the call ended. "Annyeong." Jungkook said before hanging up. He tossed his phone on the couch and sat down. He sighed and placed his hands in his hair. "What do I do?" He mumbled to himself.

"Jungkook-ah! Are you okay?"

His head turned to see Jin in the kitchen getting a snack. How long had he been there?

"Oh, hyung! I didn't see you there." Was all Jungkook could say. "Yah..." Jin sighed "I've been here for about 5 minutes already. I assume it was your mom that called. You don't seem very happy. What happened?"

"Well..." He couldn't explain. He didn't want to be a bother to his hyungs. "It's nothing."

It was now a Saturday. Deiji would be arriving later that day. Before anything, Jungkook went straight to find Bang-PD. They were busy the days before and couldn't find the time to ask him about what he and his mother talked about. Luckily, Bang was walking right towards him! "PD-nim!" He politely called out. "Ah, Jungkook!" He greeted with a smile. "May I ask you something?" Jungkook asked.  "Of course." Bang replied.

"So I know you know about my sister, Deiji." Jungkook started. Bang nodded in response.

"I just wanted to ask why you allowed her to come? With all due respect, I don't know why you agreed. I'm just worried that she might be a bother."

Bang lightly chuckled in response. "Jungkook, you worry too much." He said with a smile. "I think you're forgetting that she's your sister. She misses you a lot and just wants to spend time with you and possibly, the others as well. She'll only be here for a week-" He was cut off.

"Wait, a week?" Jungkook asked.

Bang nodded. "Yes. Your mother only requested for about 2  or 3 days but I told her that she could stay for a week. I know you and the others have been working a lot and I think your sister would give you guys energy and a positive mood." He ended his explanation with a smile once more.

Jungkook sighed. He was right. Deiji is a very bright kid, she easily changes the atmosphere around her. He nodded "I guess you're right." Bang placed a hand on his shoulder. "I better be on my way. You need to go prepare to pick Deiji up from the train station." With that, he left Jungkook and went on his way.

"Oh right..." He mumbled to himself. "I have to pick her up myself."

It was around 2:30 in the afternoon. The boys were in their dance studio, practicing Blood Sweat & Tears. They'd just finished the last step and were now on the floor, exhausted. Jungkook panted and turned to the clock. He had to go. "Ah, I need to excuse myself." He said, standing up. "Why? Where are you going?" Yoongi asked, taking a sip of his water. "I'm just meeting up with a family member." He said, vaguely. "It'll be quick!" He said and immediately left the practice room. The rest shrugged and continued resting.

Jungkook was dressed "normal" and was in a slightly oversized shirt and some sweatpants. He had a mask on as well. His bodyguard followed closely behind him to make sure he was safe. Jungkook exited the building and started walking towards their nearest train station. The streets were almost empty, which was a good thing.  "Will Eomma be there?" He asked himself. Well, he's gotta see for himself to know the answer to that.

Soon enough he arrived. "Do you see her?" He asked his bodyguard. He looked around and shook his head "I don't think I see her." Jungkook walked closer to get a better view. Where was his mom? He would recognize her, for sure. It didn't look like she was there. Suddenly, his eyes landed on a kid standing by the exit, alone. "No way..." He sighed and quickly walked over to the kid. The little girl looked over at him. She had long brown hair, her brown eyes staring up at him. Jungkook smiled under his mask. He kneeled down in front of her and pulled down his mask. The young girl's eyes lit up as she gave a bright smile.

Jungkook smiled back "Annyeong, Deiji!" He said and waved.

"OPP-"

"Shhh!" Jungkook said and placed a hand over her mouth. He laughed "Not too loud, Deiji." He removed his hands and immediately was wrapped in a hug. "Oppa!" Deiji whispered as she tightened her grip on him. The older brother smiled and picked her up. All she had was herself and her backpack. "Ah, I missed you!" He grunted, standing up as if Deiji was heavy. "Where's Eomma?" He asked.

"At home." She simply replied.

"What?" He was confused. "What do you mean at home? Didn't she come here with you?"

The little girl shook her head "Aniya (No). It's just me here."

"WHAT?!" Jungkook whisper-screamed. Did his mom really just let a kid go on a two-hour train ride from Busan to Seoul all by herself???

"Yep." She replied.

He didn't realize he said that out loud. "Are you okay?" He placed her down and spun her around. Deiji giggled "I'm okay, Oppa! I just entered the train, sat down, then now I'm here." She explained.

Jungkook let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, good." He said and picked her up again. "Well then, we have to go before people notice I'm here! Let's go to your Oppa's work place!" He playfully said and started running back to the BigHit building, bodyguard following behind.
