We walked into the Fort holding hands. There was a tour guide to follow and we opted for that. I wanted to hear the history of the place. It gave me a thrill to hear about the civil war and see the different relics that were there. Wyatt indulged me and was patient even though he probably already knew all about it. I loved Gone with the Wind (both movie and book) so I imagined the Rhett Butler had been on a ship sailing through waters here. My dreamy expression must have given me away because Wyatt asked me what I was thinking about.

Bashfully I told him and he grinned at me. "You want me to be Rhett Butler right now?"

I laughed and said, "No! I'd rather have you as yourself. After all, that is who I fell in love with."

"Darling, you really are the sweetest woman I have ever met." he said before kissing me.

The guided tour was soon over and we still had a few minutes to look around before catching the next ferry back to Patriots Point. I even made Wyatt take a selfie with me on my cell phone before we left. He teased me about it as we boarded the ferry. I finally kissed him to stop his teasing and he laughed saying that a kiss was all he was after the whole time.

"Do you feel like getting some lunch when we get back to the car?" he asked me.

"Yes, that sounds good. Where should we go? Is there a place that you had in mind?"

"Jake told us how much you enjoy seafood so I'm going to take you to a place someone recommended. It's called Pearlz Oyster Bar."

"That does sound good, but do you like seafood?"

"Yeah some of it like clams and grilled fish so don't worry darling."

I grinned at him happily and gave his hand a squeeze. He reciprocated and we spent the rest of the ferry ride chatting about the rich history of Charleston. Wyatt was a fountain of knowledge and answered question after question for me. When we were getting off the ferry, I suddenly realized that I might be boring him so I apologized.

"Wyatt, I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions." I said with a contrite look as we walked towards the garage that his car was parked at.

"You aren't! Do you have any idea how nice it is to be able to have a decent conversation? I thank God that you are intelligent. No guy just wants to talk about makeup or gossip about celebrities with their woman."

"So, I shouldn't talk about Futurama with you?" I teased him.

"Woman! You should never joke about Sci Fi with me!" he declared, wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up off the ground.

I giggled as my feet dangled above the ground. "Put me down Wyatt!" I protested but not really meaning it. He set me down when we reached the car.

"There, I put you down," Wyatt said laughing. "You are so light! Let's get you fed because you are obviously wasting away."

His stomach growled right then, so I poked him in the stomach lightly and said, "Well, it seems like I'm not the only one who needs feeding."

Wyatt opened the car door with a flourish, "Get in the car darling before I decide to kiss the crap out of you in a public place."

I got in quickly and had my seatbelt fastened before he sat in the drivers seat. He started the car and drove us out of the garage. I was glad that he had such a good sense of direction and knew where he was going because I had no idea where we were at. Wyatt drove expertly and we were pulling into a parking spot in no time. He opened my car door and I took his hand to climb out. He kept my hand in his as we walked into the restaurant.

The hostess took one look at Wyatt and fluttered her lashes at him. Wyatt ignored her attempt at flirting and I smiled at him. He asked for a table for two and we were seated immediately. The hostess reluctantly left us after handing us menus and I teased him about it.

"Aww.... she was crushing on you Wyatt."

He grinned and shook his head, "It doesn't matter. There are only two females that I'm crazy about."

I tilted my head to the side as I pondered his words. Was there another lady that I should be worried about? Wyatt started laughing at me and said, "One is you of course, the other is Lexine." I had to smile at that and of course my heart melted. Before I could say anything, our server walked up to introduce himself as Anthony. I turned to look at him, still smiling and Anthony stuttered for a second before regaining his composure. He asked us what we would like to drink and suggested some local beers but since we didn't drink we both ordered sodas instead.

Anthony fixed his eyes on me and asked if I would like to order any appetizers. Flustered I looked to Wyatt for assistance. I still felt shy around men I didn't know and I was uncomfortable with Anthony's interest in me.

Wyatt came to my rescue and ordered the clams in a white wine garlic broth and asked for a few more minutes to decided on our entrees. Anthony nodded and left to get our drinks and place the order for the clams. "Now, someone is crushing on you." Wyatt teased me.

I blushed and just rolled my eyes. Wyatt laughed at me and then turned the menu. I read over it and there were  a few different things that caught my interest. I finally decided on a lobster roll since I've always wanted to try one.

"So what are you getting darling?"

"I want to get the lobster roll. I've always wanted to try it."

"Sounds good. I am going to get the cod sliders. Hey, if I get a side of asparagus, will you share it with me?"

"Sure Wyatt."

Anthony our server came back with our sodas. Root Beer for me and a Coke for Wyatt. He also set down a big bowl of steaming hot clams in broth with a smaller bowl for the shells.

"Have you decided what you would like to order for your entrees?" he asked with a side glance at me.

My eyes flicked to Wyatt and he spoke up. "My wife would like the lobster roll and I'll take the cod sliders with a side order of asparagus."

I smiled and got a thrill when he called me his wife. I wondered what we would do since I couldn't officially marry each of them. I pushed the thought aside. That was something to be discussed later. I wanted to focus on the now.

Anthony took our order down on his notepad and left the table. I know that I had a goofy smile on my face as I looked at Wyatt.

"What?" he asked me as positioned the bowl of clams between us.

"You called me your wife. I liked it. I really liked the way it sounded." I said as I picked up my spoon to lift a clam shell.

Wyatt grinned at me as he forked a clam into his mouth. "I liked how it sounded too. I think that I'll say it more often."

"That's fine with me and I hope that you don't mind when I call you my husband." I said and closed my eyes in bliss at the flavor of the clams and broth.

"God, I love the way you eat," he told me. "You take such joy in tasting things."

"It's one of my weaknesses," I admitted. "There are so many good foods out there."

As soon as we finished with the clams, Anthony came by to clear up our plates and set down our orders. I saw his eyes flick towards my left hand and he smiled as he walked away. It took me a minute to process what that was about. My ring finger was bare. Wyatt of course noticed it and immediately said, "At the next family meeting, we'll bring up commitment ceremonies and see about getting you a ring."

"Alright." I said feeling pretty happy about it. I took a bite of my lobster roll and it was good! Wyatt seemed to enjoy his cod sliders too and we shared the asparagus. As much as I tried, I couldn't finish it, "I'm so full." I told Wyatt.

He laughed at me and said, "You are such a lightweight!"

"I need to walk this off. Is there anywhere we can take a walk at?"

"Sure, there are parks nearby or even the woods behind the house."

"Oh! I'd like to explore the area behind the house!" I said excitedly.

"Whatever you want darling, let me get this paid and then we can head back home for our walk."

Anthony appeared at the table and handed the check to Wyatt but continued to smile at me. I nodded politely to him but didn't smile so as not to encourage his obvious interest in me. I kept my eyes on Wyatt until he left with Wyatt's card to run it.

He came back a minute later and Wyatt signed the receipt and put his card back into his wallet before standing up. As I stood up, I saw the tip Wyatt had written in and was surprised. He put his arm around me to guide me outside which made me glad so that I didn't have to converse with Anthony anymore.

"I can't believe that you gave him such a nice tip! Even after he was a uh..." my voice trailed off as we walked back to the car.

Wyatt smirked at me, "Flirting with you? Despite that, he did bring the food out in a timely manner so I based it off his serving skills. Don't get me wrong though, I did want to punch him in the face but I have amazing self control."

I grinned at him as he opened the car door for me. There were prickles on the back of my neck and I hastened to get into the car. Before I got in though, Wyatt stopped me and gave me a kiss on the cheek and whispered, "Don't look but I think that we have someone watching us."

Still smiling sweetly at Wyatt I flicked my eyes around to see in a glint of something in my peripheral vision. Slowly I turned slightly and leaned against the car. Facing a new direction I focused over Wyatt's shoulder to see a man standing in the shadows against the edge of a building. He had a camera aimed at us.

"What should we do?" I asked Wyatt.

"Well, we can give him a show or we can just leave. Right now, I'd prefer to leave since we don't know why he is taking surveillance photos of you. Hop in the car darling."

I peeled myself off the side of the car to hop in and buckle up. Wyatt got in the drivers side, put his seatbelt on and started the car. We drove off without speeding but there were no cars following us when Wyatt took a few odd turns just to make sure. I couldn't wait until we were back at home where I would feel secure again.
