Sorry for the short update everyone. I had a lot to do this weekend which included a chocolate festival and going to see a movie!

I guess I said that louder than I thought because there were masculine chuckles filling the room. Even Preston was laughing and I could hear and feel the rumbles in his chest. Humiliation. I decided that Humiliation would be my word of the day.

"Maybe you can let go of her hands now." Brady said after he stopped laughing.

"Jake and I met her at Bob's Diner last night. They were just going to stay at a hotel and we felt that it wasn't safe. So we brought them here."

Preston let go of my hands and slowly pulled back from me. I grabbed the towel and secured it around me tightly. I could feel his eyes studying me. I met his icy pale blue gaze.

"Them? Wait, is there someone else with you?" he asked me.

"Oh my God! Lexine!" I gasped and started towards the bed.

"It's ok, I've got her." Brady said and I saw that he was holding her and she was awake. Lexine had her small arms wrapped around his neck.

"She's letting you hold her." I said in wonder. "She never lets new people get that close with her."

"I guess Baby Bird here is a good judge of character." Brady said with a grin.

Preston looked at them and said, "I understand now." He turned to me,"Delphine, I owe you an apology. I'm normally not like this but, I didn't get any sleep last night. I am sorry for not checking with any of the guys before I came barging in your room. Please forgive me."

I nodded and pulled my towel even closer to me. I heard some whispers and looked over at Jake and the guy with hazel eyes. They had amused looks on their faces and looking at Preston while they whispered. Confused I turned to Preston and looked him over and gasped. There was a wet imprint of my body on his clothes. Jake smiled big and gave him a thumbs up. He looked down and sighed..

"OK, everyone out while Ms...." Preston looked at me questioningly.

"Williams." I told him.

"While Ms. Williams get dressed. I'm going to get something to eat and then get some sleep."

Jake and hazel eyes guy left the room followed by Preston. Brady still held Lexine in his arms.

"I'll just take her downstairs and let her pick out what she wants for breakfast. Is that OK with you Baby Bird?" he asked her.

She nodded yes and pointed to the door.

I walked over to her and kissed her cheek and said, "I'll see you downstairs in a few minutes baby."

Smiling at Brady I thanked him. He left with her and I shut the door behind them and went to the clothes I had left on the bed.
