Chase pulled me down a couple of hallways and into an elevator. He pressed the 4th floor button and watched the doors close. Quickly he gathered me into his arms and gave me a sweet little kiss.

"OK, I am now switching out of boyfriend mode and into a professional doctor mode. I'll make this visit as quick and painless as possible!" he told me. He let go of me as the elevator doors opened and walked out with me. I followed him down the hallway to an office door. He opened it for me and gestured me in. It was rather nicely decorated with a large desk with a computer and files stacked on it. Bookcases with medical journals and filing cabinets were lined up against one wall and framed degrees were on another wall with pictures. There was a couch and coffee table too.

Opening a door on the wall of degrees, he beckoned for me to follow him. It led to a sterile exam room. Pulling out new paper over the exam chair , he then reached into a drawer and took out a paper robe. "Here you are Mrs. Williams. Please take off everything including your underwear and put this one. I'll be back in a couple of minutes." I quickly stripped off everything and put them folded nicely on a chair. Wrapping the paper robe around me, I tied the strings in the front to keep it closed. Using the step that was pulled out so that I could sit on the table, I sat there trying not to think about the pelvic exam part. I hated that most of all.

A knock sounded on the door and I said, "Come in." Chase came in with his chart and smiled at me. "Mrs. Williams, will you please step on the scale here?" He took my weight down on the chart and measured my height, took my blood pressure and did a general physical exam. When it came time for the pelvic and breast exam he asked me if I would like a female nurse to be in the room for the procedures. I did think about it but declined. I knew in my heart that Chase wouldn't do anything to hurt me. He did the breast exam first and it went quickly. Then came the pelvic. Pulling the stirrups out from under the exam chair, he had me put my feet into the holders. I think that I must have tensed up visibly because his voice became more gentle and very soothing as he explained his next move. True to his word, he was very gentle and it was painless and quick. Sometimes the doctors doing the pelvic exams were not so cautious and it could be uncomfortable.

With the exam complete with all test samples taken, Chase told me that we were all done and that I could go ahead and get dressed. I did and opened the door and stepped back into his office. A nurse was in there picking up the tray of blood and other samples from the exam to take to the lab. She was an older woman who smiled pleasantly at me and left the room.

"I had a rush order put on those so I should have all the results later tonight." Chase said to me.

"Wow, that fast?" I asked him.

"Yes, it's rather a slow night here so it's not a big inconvenience for the lab. Are you ready to go?" he asked as he pulled off his white doctors coat and hung it up.

I yawned and blushed when he caught the tail end of it. "Sorry, I guess it's just been a very long day for me." I apologized to him.

"You don't need to be sorry," he said to me as we walked back to the elevator. "I'm sure that you are tired after your first day at work and also having to deal with being separated from Lexine for the first time."

When the elevator doors shut, he pulled me into his arms and kissed me. "I'm back into boyfriend mode." he said and hugged me. I tiptoed up for another kiss and he gave it to me. "Thank you so much," I said to him. "It didn't hurt at all and I don't even feel uncomfortable "there" like I have in the past."
The elevator doors opened and we stepped out. Putting his arm around my shoulders, he said,"I really believe that doctors need to be more careful with that type of exam. I mean, when you perform surgery, you don't get rough with anything inside the body. I strongly think that the entire body should be treated carefully by doctors and nurses."

"The medical profession should have more doctors like you Chase!" I said to him. He laughed and kissed the top of my head as we walked back to the cafeteria. I put my arm around his waist and leaned my head on his shoulder. A couple of women in nurses scrubs were walking past us and out of the corner of my eye, I saw that they were looking at us and the one with light brown hair was openly glaring at me. Chase tightened his arm around me and leaned down to whisper, "That's Melinda. She's one of those aggressive women that I can't stand. She doesn't like hearing no from a man. She keeps asking me about taking her to the fundraiser on Friday and I finally got mad today. I told her that I was bringing my beautiful girlfriend and to stop bothering me before I spoke to her supervisor about sexual harrassment."

"You mean she kept asking even after you said no?"

"That's right sweetie."

"I can't believe it! Some people have no shame." I said.

Looking around the cafeteria, we spotted Brady sitting with Lexine who was finishing up a bowl of ice cream. The doctor with sandy blond curls was sitting across from them at the table and saying to Lexine, "You can't even spare one spoonful of ice cream?" She shook her head no and giggled. "But it goes so well with my apple pie!" he protested.
Brady laughed and said, "You are out of luck dude. She won't share her ice cream with anyone!"

With that said, Lexine took her spoon scooped out some ice cream and held it in front of Brady's mouth! He didn't hesitate to eat it and Lexine looked happy. Brady's grin stretched from ear to ear. I looked at Chase and he looked proud. "I don't think that she is going to have any trouble accepting us as her dads, do you?" Chase asked me.
"I don't think so either." I said feeling my heart burst.

Brady and Lexine saw us and smiled at us. "Did you see my baby bird sharing her ice cream with me?"
"We saw it," Chase told him with a grin. "Delphine, I'd like to introduce you to Dr. Sean Green. Sean, this is our Delphine." He stood up from his chair and shook my hand. Gentle green eyes looked at me and I couldn't get over how young he was to be a doctor! I decided not to say anything about his age. After hearing about the Academy, I had no doubt that he was a real doctor. "It's nice to meet you." I said to him with a smile. "Likewise," Sean said to me. "I've heard so much about you! Chase can't shut up about you." I blushed and Chase just grinned.
"Delphine is going to be my date to the fundraiser Friday night." Chase told Sean.
"Oh, that's great! Then she can meet the future Mrs. Green! I'm bringing Pookie with me." Sean said excitedly. I had to smile at his nickname for his girlfriend.
"Dr. Green is part of the Blackbourne team." Chase whispered in my ear. A lightbulb went off in my head.
"Oh," I said, " We weren't formally introduced, but I think that I saw her in passing at Bob's Diner."
"That probably was my Pookie! I'll introduce you guys at the party," he said then sighed, "Well, my break is over and I need to get back to my patients. Maybe if I hurry, I can take a minute to ogle the newborns in the nursery! God, they are so cute!" He smiled and then hurried off with a wave.
Brady raised an eyebrow at Chase and he nodded. "Ok, are we ready to go? Whose driving with who?" Chase asked. "I'll take Lexine since I have the family car." Brady said.
"I've got Delphine then and we'll pick up the Pizza on our way home." Chase said.
I handed Brady the packet of wet wipes from my purse and he cleaned Lexine up. They stood up and Brady gathered up their trash to throw away and while he was doing that Chase picked up Lexine and demanded his hug and kiss from her. She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. He kissed hers as well and then handed her to Brady. I gave her a kiss as well, "I'll see you at home ok?" She nodded and I went with Chase towards the back of the hospital to the staff parking lot.
Chase's car was a dark blue Mercedes Benz sedan. Opening the passenger door he made sure that I was settled inside before shutting the door for me. I don't think that I would ever tire of their chivalry. It showed me how much they cared and I loved it. As soon as Chase got into the drivers seat, I grabbed his head and gave him a passionate french kiss.
"Not that I'm complaining but what was that for?" he asked me.
"Just for being you." I said to him.
"I can live with that!" he said with a laugh and started the car. Once we were both buckled in he drove off. I thought that I saw a glint to my side. I dismissed it as just a reflection of light off of another car window. I looked over at Chase and it looked like he was frowning for a second but then smiled when he saw me looking at him. "So sweetie, tell me what your fantasy pizza is!"
"Umm.... my absolute favorite would be...all the veggies including artichoke hearts and green onions with Canadian bacon and shrimp."
He laughed and asked, "So how many times have you ordered that?"
"Just once when I was pregnant and was going to eat dinner alone. I've never ordered it again because Rick didn't like it and then later, money was tight." I answered him.
Chase looked thoughtful then said, "Well, we are ordering you your own personal fantasy pizza tonight that you don't have to share with anyone!"
"We don't have to do that!"
"Yes, we do. We are celebrating your first day at work and Lexine's first day of preschool."
He pulled into a parking lot and parked in front of a place called Danny's Pizzeria. "This place has the best pizza ever! Danny is an Academy member too and we try to support each other. It helps that the food is great here!"
"I'm sure that I will like it!" I said to him and held his hand as we walked into the place. It had a nice family atmosphere to the place with tables and booths and a kids section with video games and other things. Chase led me to the counter and greeted the guy standing behind it. He was of medium height and had very muscular arms. His skin was olive toned and he had dark hair and eyes. He truly looked Italian. "Hey Danny! How's it going?"
Danny looked up with a grin, "Hey Chase, the hospital let you out at a decent time today?"
"They did! Can you believe it? Danny this is Delphine and I'd like to order her a special pizza tonight along with a few other ones."
"Hi Delphine, I'm Danny. Don't believe everything that you hear about me from this guy." he said with a wink at me.
Chase dropped my hand to put his arm around my shoulders. I smiled a little at his possesiveness. Danny was a good looking guy but I felt that my men were the best looking ones. It also made me wonder if being handsome was a prerequisite to join the Academy!
Chase ordered a few different pizzas including a cheese one for Lexine and then ordered a small one special pizza for me. I couldn't believe that he remembered exactly what I wanted on it! Nothing was left out. "Better make that one a large instead of small." Chase told him. I looked at him like he was crazy. "I can't eat all that!" I hissed at him.
"I know I said that you didn't have to share tonight but would you consider sharing your leftovers?" he asked me.
"Of course I'll share, it doesn't have to be leftovers and You don't have to ask!" I rolled my eyes.
He gave me a kiss on my forehead and amended the pizza to extra large. Danny told us to sit wherever we liked and he'd let us know when our order was ready to go. We sat at an empty table near the games. The claw machine with stuffed animals caught my eye. Chase noticed and said, "Come on, let's go check it out." He pulled out a dollar and stuck it in. "I kind of suck at these things but at least a dollar will give me two tries!" The two attempts to grab stuffed animals failed. "Do you want to try sweetie?" he asked me. I studied the placement of all the stuffed animals in there and nodded absentmindedly. He put a dollar in there again and I grabbed the joystick. Looking at the claw from all angles including the sides I hit the red button to grab a few seconds before time ran out. It picked up a sock monkey and I held my breath until it dropped into the spot where you could reach in and grab your prize.
"You got it!" Chase exclaimed. He reached in the flap and took it out. "You still have one more try." he reminded me. I turned my attention back to the game and managed to grab a purple and white spotted cow. "I'll be damned!" said Chase as he pulled that out of the machine as well. "I'd really like to see what you can do." and he pulled a five dollar bill out of his pocket and fed it into the machine. By the end of all the tries, I had ten more stuffed animals won from the machine. There was a crowd of parents and children standing around watching me win. I came out of my concentration to notice the attention and blushed.
I quickly counted and saw that there were 10 kids standing around and I handed them each a stuffed animal prize. I smiled to see how happy it made them. Their parents thanked me and they went back to their tables. I kept the purple cow for Lexine and the sock monkey I gave to Chase to keep for himself. "This is for you." I said to him. He took it and said, "I will be keeping this forever! It'll remind me of the day that I found one of your hidden talents."
I just laughed, "What talent? It's just a game."
"It is a talent! How did you get so good at it?"
"Oh, I used to be really bad at it and when I had Lexine I wanted to win for her. So I studied it and practiced it. So you can see where her love of stuffed animals came from."
He looked impressed and started to say something else but his named was called out by Danny. We went over to the counter and Chase pulled out his wallet and handed over a card to Danny. He rang it up and when Chase was signing the reciept, he looked at me and said, "So you're the reason I have to restock the claw machine tonight huh?" He said it with a friendly smile so I just blushed and nodded. "Sorry about that." I said to him.
"Aww that's nothing to apologize for! Besides, I saw how you gave away most of them to the kids. You made their night! I can't complain about happy customers. It's good for business!" he gave me a smile as he said that.
I smiled back and then reached out to help Chase with the pizza boxes. Instead he handed me his keys and the sock monkey. "Can you unlock and open the car door for me sweetie?"
"Sure," I said to him and walked in front of him to hold the front door open for him. Unlocking the car using the remote and opening the back door for him, I watched as he set the pizzas carefully down so that they wouldn't slide around. He shut the door and pulled me into his arms for a big kiss. "Thank you for my prize." he said to me. "You're welcome!" I answered back and handed him his keys. Buckled into the car, he drove us home.
