I watched Wyatt walk out of the room. Brady got up and started clearing plates. I wiped off Lexine's mouth and hands and set her down. I tried to help with the dishes but Brady kicked me out of the kitchen and told me to take Lexine and wait in the living room for him.

I found the remote and sat on the couch while Lexine played with her dog. Turning on the tv, I flipped through the channels until I came across a popular movie about vampires and werewolves. I curled up on the corner of the couch to watch it. About ten minutes later, Brady came in and sat next to me.

"Uh, oh. Are you making me watch a chick flick?"

"No. Well, maybe for a few minutes. It's almost over. Did you want to change it? Here is the remote." I tried handing it to him.

"It's fine Delphine. I was just teasing you."

His arm came down around my shoulders just like last time. We watched the movie in silence until it ended and the credits started rolling.

"I wonder why she chose to be with a vampire?" Brady asked me.

"I think that she didn't care what he was as long as he loved her."

"Sounds like true love."

"Yeah it does. I wonder what it would be like to love and trust someone that much." I said wistfully.

"You didn't have that with Lexine's dad?"

"I thought I did at first. But reality is different isn't it? I mean in real life, relationships aren't always like that. You have to put the work in to make your partner happy right?"

His arm tightened around me just a little more. He had a serious expression on his face.

"I like to think that relationships are more like a partnership. You both have to be considerate of the other person. It wouldn't be hard to do if you really love them. There needs to be an equal balance of give and take. You shouldn't take more than you give."

"Hmmm... maybe I'll be lucky enough to find that someday."

"You don't think that you will?

"I'm not sure. After all, I come with baggage. It's kind of hard to find a guy who will accept that. And for me that is a big must. We are a package deal."

Brady's hand rubbed reassuring circles on my upper arm.

"Trust me, there are guys out there who wouldn't mind a package deal. You have a lot to offer Delphine. Always remember that."

I just sat there looking at him not knowing what to say and Lexine came running over with a big strip of ribbon in her hand. She grabbed my hand and pulled me down so that she could whisper in my ear.

"The ribbon came off my doggy. You fix?"

"No problem baby. Mommy will fix it."

Brady's POV

I wanted to fix her so bad. Our conversation gave me some more insight into her relationship with Richard. He clearly didn't appreciate what he had. As sweet as she is, I wanted to lean down and kiss her perfect lips. It was too soon for that though. I needed to make sure to keep them both safe away from guys who would take advantage of her. Delphine wasn't a short term relationship girl. She was a forever kind of woman. I watched her bend over to tie the ribbon back on the toy dog. Her shapely rear end was showcased in those jeans. Seeing something in the corner of my eye I turned my head and saw Wyatt had stopped at the other side of the room and was admiring the view also. I wasn't the only one of my brothers who knew a good thing when they saw it.

Wyatt's POV

I went to the cell phone store to pick up one for Delphine and got a white iPhone for her with a peacock blue case. After I came back home, I went straight to my office with it to download some special software and load our phone numbers into it. I knew she was going to protest about it being too fancy but I had an argument ready. Going back to the living room I stopped short seeing a cute rear end bent over. I knew immediately who it belonged to. I was staring at her until I felt Brady looking at me. He was looking at me with a sympathetic smile. I grinned back.
