Lexine spent a few hours with me before she showed signs of getting tired and the guys had let us have our time together by ourselves before coming to get her ready for bed. I was feeling tired by then and was grateful for them doing it for me. I kissed her goodnight and gave her an extra long hug before she left with Brady. Chase arrived after she was in bed and everyone gathered in my room for a family meeting.

Family Meeting

Preston: So we are going to be expanding our family earlier than expected but it's a wonderful surprise. Chase would like to have a talk with us on what to expect and changes that will come along.

Chase: Well as we have found out, poor Delphine has morning sickness that was compounded by the flu virus. Certain smells and things are going to be irritating her. Her sense of smell will be heightened and the morning sickness usually lasts throughout the first trimester. It should be completely gone by her fifth month along. Go ahead and ask some questions, I'm sure that Delphine and I can answer them all.

Jake: When is it safe to have sex again?

Chase: Whenever Delphine feels like it. Sex is completely fine throughout the pregnancy. Towards the end though, it might become uncomfortable for her. She will let us know if anything hurts her.

Wyatt: I saw that her nipples are darker now. They are still ok to touch though right? (looking at Delphine)

Delphine: Yes, they are fine to touch. They just stay darker when I'm pregnant and while I breastfeed. They have been getting a little more sensitive lately but they haven't started to hurt yet.

Wyatt: They are going to hurt?

Chase: For a time they will be extra sensitive and rough touches will make them hurt. Usually that goes away with the morning sickness when her hormones even out a little bit more. If you aren't sure about what kind of touches hurt her just ask before doing it.

Brady: Are you sure that sex is ok? Even if you are a little big? It really won't hurt the baby?

Chase: Yes, remember that the baby comes out that way too and it's a whole lot bigger than any of us so it will be fine. It depends on the woman but her sex drive can get a lot higher during the second and third trimester so I'd advise us all to get it while we can.

(There are chuckles all around)

Preston: What about positions? Are there better ones to accommodate her stomach later?

Delphine: The usual positions are fine for now. We can get creative and try different things when my stomach gets in the way.

Jake: Should Delphine be eating any differently? Are there things that she should avoid or eat more of?

Chase: Caffeine should be avoided as should alcohol and tobacco but Delphine doesn't drink or smoke so that's a non issue. I'm starting her on prenatal vitamins and leafy greens will be good for her. Calcium and folic acid are very important and the greens are full of that. Her diet is usually good anyways and we should expect some pregnancy cravings.

Delphine: Soda is my weakness but I can have caffeine free Coke, Rootbeer, Orange soda and peppermint tea is naturally decaf. I promise that I won't do anything to jeopardize the baby's health!

Preston: Of course you won't my dear. If there are no more questions, I think that we should all get some sleep. Our Delphine is looking a little tired.

Delphine: Oh! There is one more thing. Lexine is starting to refer to you guys as daddy when she is talking to me. She said that Daddy Brady took her to McDonald's today. Just thought that all of you might like to know that.

There is silence all around. The men have glistening eyes and big smiles on their faces.

Preston: (Clears his throat) Thank you Delphine for letting us know. It's a wonderful thing. Meeting adjourned.

Jake's POV

 I still couldn't believe that this wonderful woman was carrying my baby! This was the most wonderful thing that could happen to me and my brothers. I was so filled with joy that I wanted to shout this from the rooftop. It was an unspoken thing that I would be spending the night with her tonight. She was already in bed so I just stripped down to my boxers and crawled in there with her.

Delphine gave me a beautiful smile. She looked so fragile right now with getting over being sick and I felt so bad that she had to suffer morning sickness also. If there was a way to go through it for her I know that any of us would. I'd do my best to make it up to her. When Chase asked me and Preston to give samples at the hospital, I thought that we both would be cleared. I was so sure that it had to be one of the others that had gotten a hole in their condom. I am not embarrassed to say that that in order to get my sample out into that plastic cup, just thinking about my naked woman worked very well.

Pulling her closer to me, I wrapped one of my arms around her and placed my free hand on her stomach right below her belly button. I rubbed little circles there as if it was the baby's back. Kissing her forehead, I watched her settle in and drift off to sleep with a little smile on her face. I'll admit that I couldn't wait to find out the sex of the baby. I truly didn't care if it was a boy or a girl although I had to admit that boys could be little poopy heads. I should know, I used to be one! Although with Delphine as a mother, it wouldn't be so bad. Then I realized that having a girl would be sweet but then we had to deal with boys later on. There was no winning! Names were going to be hard to decide on. I had no clue of where to start. As I had these thoughts racing through my head, I eventually fell asleep snuggling her.

Delphine POV

I woke up feeling a little sick. Reaching over to my nightstand, I opened my tin of Altoids and popped one in my mouth. I went pee in the bathroom and got back under the covers careful not to wake up Jake. The peppermint helped but I knew that I needed to get some crackers or something bready in my stomach to help the morning sickness. Sighing, I decided to make the trek to the kitchen. Unfortunately my closet door creaked little as I opened it to get a warm terry cloth robe out. Jake woke up and whispered huskily to me, "What's wrong Delphine? Did you need something?"

"I'm ok Jake, just go back to sleep. I need to get some crackers or something for my stomach." I spoke quietly to him. He sat up all the way and said, "No, sweetie. You stay here and I'll get it for you." He pulled on his pants and made sure I got back into bed and covered up before leaving my room. I turned on the tv and put the volume very low as I waited for Jake to return.

About five minutes later, Jake came back with a shopping bag full of stuff. I laughed softly, "Jake! What's all this?" He grinned at me sheepishly, "I didn't know what you wanted so I got grabbed some different stuff for you to choose from." I shook my head smiling at him. There were plain crackers, flavored ones, chips and I chose the kettlecorn flavored rice cakes to nibble on since I couldn't decide on salty or sweet. It had a lovely combo of both.

I fluffed up the pillows behind me and sat up to eat them. Jake was sweet enough to open a bottle of water and set it on my nightstand for me. I told him to get back into bed and go to sleep. That was to keep me under control. I was in no condition right now to make love to him and the sight of him shirtless was enough to get my interest. Like a typical man, he was able to get his pants off in seconds and hop into bed. Jake was back asleep in less than five minutes.

I ate my rice cakes and drank some water. Having something in my stomach did work and the nausea went away. I brushed my teeth and got back into bed to cuddle up to Jake. My guys always gave off the best body heat and I was always cold so it worked out. Even in his sleep, Jake's arms reached out to hold me. I basked in the loving feeling and fell asleep.

In the morning, I was woken up by feathery kisses on my neck. I turned over to meet Jake's bright blue eyes. "How is my sweetheart doing this morning? Are you feeling better?" Sucking in a breath, I nodded yes and rubbed my eyes, "Thank you so much for getting me the snacks last night." He kissed my forehead and said, "You are welcome."

Jake insisted on taking a shower with me. He also told me not to worry about getting Lexine ready to school, that Brady was taking care of it this morning. I tried to shave my legs but was too tired to do it. Jake made me sit down on the shower seat and shaved them for me. I drew the line at my bikini zone however which made him laugh. I couldn't believe how sweet he was. He kissed my cheek as he rinsed the soap off my body and told me that he had to go interview someone for an article today but that he would see me later. He kissed my belly as he rubbed my towel down my legs, "There's my little jelly bean! You be good and stay in the candy factory."

I sputtered into laughter, "The candy factory?" He grinned up at me, "Yup, I've found nothing but sweetness in there!" he declared and winked at me making me turn red. After we were both dried off, Jake wrapped his lower half in a big towel and took off for his room holding his dirty clothes from yesterday.

I sat on the edge of my bed and pulled on my underwear slowly. I couldn't believe how much of my energy was sapped from the flu. It really had hit me hard. I had no intentions of wearing uncomfortable clothing today and had picked out some yoga pants with a long sleeved shirt. I also added some fuzzy socks to my feet to keep them warm. Preston appeared in my doorway dressed in slacks and a black long sleeved shirt. "Good morning my dear." he said with a smile at me.

"Good morning" I replied with a smile back at him. He came closer to me and touched my still wet hair frowning. "Let me dry your hair for you." I got up from the bed and followed him into bathroom where he had me sit on closed toilet lid and he used the hair dryer on me. I just brushed it and pulled it back into a pony tail. I was already too tired to deal with it.

Preston seemed to know it too. Instead of making me walk downstairs, I was swept up into his arms, bridal style and carried all the way into the living room. He set me down gently on one of the smaller loveseats and reclined it for me. I was promptly covered in a blanket by Wyatt who appeared out of nowhere. "What would my darling like for breakfast today? Anything you want! I've already bought some doughnuts, if you want that."

Doughnuts sounded really good to me right then, "Are there any maple glazed ones?" I asked hopefully. "There sure are!" Wyatt said cheerfully. Preston gave me a look and asked, "Would you object to a glass of milk with that?" I shook my head and said, "That sounds good."

A tv tray was set up next to the couch and the desired doughnut was on a plate with a glass of milk and a small bowl of cut up fruit. I smiled at Preston, he was going to make sure that I ate right. I watched some tv and ate my breakfast. All the tiredness that I had felt upstairs caught up with me and I dozed off again.
