Cole's POV

"C.Parris a word?" I was getting dressed in locker room when Coach called me. All of my brothers glanced when he said our name. The only reason I knew he was talking about me was because he added the 'C.' Since freshman year Coach has been calling us like that. Or else we wouldn't know which one he was talking to.

I closed my locker and quickly slipped my shirt on before heading towards the Coach. Coach Walker has been my coach since my freshman year. I didn't make the soccer team, only Blake did. But he did also coach basketball for a month while our original coach was sick. Coach Walker like the best coach in history of coaches. Fun. Energetic. Helpful. Yet it's like he understands being a teenager and that's why he doesn't act that big of an adult.

Coach led me just outside the entrance to the locker room.

"You wanted to talk to me?" I said leaning on the wall.

"I'm curious. Where did you find Tori?" Coach asked. I looked down at my shoes, gulping loudly unintentionally.

"Umm....her father is my mother's friend." It's not that I mind having Tori as a stepsister. Actually I'm perfectly fine with her as my sister. But in a way, the reason I don't want to tell everyone is this: I assume Tori is fine with Mark, Cali, and now Em. If people find out we're brother's I have a feeling she'll get more attention. Not only from the guys, but from the girls too. Some of those slutty bitches are either going to side with her, or be againat her. And without a doubt I have a feeling they're going to use Tori.

"Is that so?" Coach said, "Well when you're ready to tell me, you can."

Just like that, Coach went back in the locker room. I put my forehead on the wall, lightly tapping it. If I had a pillow I'd just bang my head. When I was done I walked back inside and grabbed my cleats putting them on.

"Come on Cole we don't have all day." Shawn shouted.

"I'm going, I'm going." I quickly tied my shoes and ran out the door. Me and Shawn jogged onto the field, "Where's Blake?"

I looked around for a second, scoping the field for a tall, built blonde. When I turned around and looked at the bleachers I saw him talking to Melissa. His play toy as me and Shawn called her. When I spotted him I rolled my eyes and searched the field again. Finally I found her.

"Tori!" I shouted jogging over. She turned around and looked over.

"What's up?" She asked.

"Just making sure you're fine." I shurgged.

"Yeah we were just talking about our favorite teams and players," Hayden said stepping beside Tori.

"Well we're USA all the way," Shawn said. I smiled and put a arm on his shoulder so he could hold my weight.

"Yeah we're thinking on buying tickets, they're coming in." I added. On the radio, news, and a couple billboards I kept seeing how the USA professional team was coming soon. Me, Shawn, and Blake were talking about getting tickets. The only problem was that they are expensive and we'd have to drive an hour away to the stadium. We're still trying to figure out how to tell mom and Bill. We agreed at dinner tonight.

"Sounds fun," Hayden said, "When's the game?"

"Early December," Shawn added.

"Well I think-" Tori was cut off just as Coach blew the whistle. I guess we'll never know what she was going to say.

Today's tryouts went pretty much as yesterday's. But this time we didn't play a match at the end. We just had drills. It really surprised me how good Tori was. If she didn't make the team, then I don't who was better.

Tori's POV

I had just reached home after the tryouts. My muscles weren't as sore as yesterday. Just a bit stiff. The moment I walked through the door the smell was what hit me first. It made my stomach growl. I was so hungry, and tired. Whatever Lilly made was definitely making my stomach howl.

"What smells so good?" I asked as I entered the living room.

Lilly smiled, "Chicken Pot Pie."

"Doesn't it smell like heaven?" Suzie said.

"Wait till you taste it," Shawn said as he licked his lips.

"How much longer Lilly?" Dad asked.

"Not long. Just fifteen more minutes." She said.

I nodded sitting down beside Cole. I was so tired. Today went fine at tryouts. No one made a move like Sunshine. But then Sunshine kept giving me looks along with practically all the other guys on the team. Hayden was nice to me. Cole and Shawn had my back but they were in separate groups so I didn't see a lot of them.

"Tori why didn't you tell me you were trying out?" Dad asked. Whoops, I forgot to mention it to dad.

"Um...well I didn't know. Cole surprised me." I muttered. I glanced at Cole and he picked up the glass of water on the table and drank it nervously. Well now I know how dad found out.

"I'm glad your going back to the sport. Just tell me when your games are. I'll go watch all four of you." Dad said.

I frowned. Dad was a sports dad, but whenever I had my soccer games as a girl, he'd come like every four or five games. That's why I loved it when mom was there, she came to every game.

"She hasn't made the team yet though," Blake added. That just made me frown even more.

"Well if you do Tor-Bo," dad said with a smile, "Just tell me when your games are."

"You seem really interested," I blurted out.

Now dad frowned, "I think it's a good thing I'm interested. I'd like to see my eldest play."

"You never did when I was little," I retorted.

A silence filled the room and everyone kept watching between me and my dad. Right when dad opened his mouth the dinger on the oven went off.

"The pie's ready." Lilly stated and we all got up and walked to the dinner table. I didn't mean to have said that, but it was true. Dad would always be at work when I had my games. And everytime he did come to a game, yeah he would cheer, yes he would be happy, yes it made me happy. But the fact is, I love my dad, but he never came. After mom died, Mrs. Bennett would have to drive me to and from my games.

I sat down beside Suzie and everyone else took their seats while Lilly pulled the pie out of the oven. She set it in front of us and sat down beside Dad. Dad grabbed the knife and started cutting the pie. Placing the pieces on our plates.

Now I felt guilty for saying that to dad. I mentally sighed, I should probably check my calendar its probably just getting around that time.

"So mom, Bill um...we were thinking." Shawn said awkwardly.

"The USA professional team is coming. We want to go. It's in December, the game I mean. USA versus Mexico." Blake said it way more confident than Shawn. I had a feeling Blake has never heard Lilly tell him, 'No.'

"How much are the tickets?" Dad asked. I was honestly to busy eating my food. It was so good I just wanted to stuff my face with it.

"Two hundred." Cole said.

"Yeah I think we can do that," Lilly said.

"Each," Shawn added.

I nearly choked on my pie. To hundred dollars per ticket. PER TICKET. That's insanity.

"Two hundred dollars per ticket?" Dad said as if he hadn't heard him correctly.

"Yeah," All three of them said.

"Boys," Lilly said with a sad smile, "That is really expensive. You can all go, but you'll have to buy your own tickets."

"But mom-"

Lilly cut Blake off, "Blake it's to much money. Your going to spend nearly a thousand on tickets. Then when we get there you're going to waste more on souvenirs and food. And if they suddenly ask if you want pictures with the players, it's going to be a high price for sure. I'm sorry but come up with your own money."

"But you always let us go!" Blake shouted.

"Things change," Lilly said.

I looked down at my food, but I could already feel Blake glaring at me.

"Fine then I guess we're not going." Shawn said quietly.

"Guess not," Cole said softly.

I noticed how awkward dad felt, he must of been dying in the inside. I could tell he was relived when Lilly said no. I couldn't say I wasn't interested in going to the match. I love England, but USA is my home. It'd be bad if I didn't like them. I did have to admit, they're are way better teams than the United States.

It was also interesting seeing Blake's reaction. He seemed to always get what he wanted. And by the way Lilly talked about him spending money, I knew she had probably gone to some games with them.

"Can I ask something?" Suzie said breaking the silence. She had been particularly quiet today. We all looked up at her for a second and nodded then went back to our food.

Dad wiped his mouth with his napkin and sat back in his chair, "Sure Sue. What are you thinking?"

"You have to all promise to answer me honestly," Suzie looked up at us, "Well I'm not sure you know, I'm just wondering."

"Well ask?" I said nudging her slightly withmy shoulder.

Suzie took a deep breath, "Where do babies come from?"

My eyes widened and I looked back at dad who's face was pale as a ghost. Everyone turned to my dad. And Suzie stared at him intently, waiting for an answer.

"Um...well. Tori why don't you help me?" Dad redirected his gaze to me. And now everyone was staring at me.

"They...er...um....ask the guys. I think they know about this subject better than me," I turned to the boys, "Where do babies come from."

Blake smirked, "So Suzie when you really love someone-"

"WHAT Blake is trying to say is," Cole interjected, "So Suzie there's this river looking thing...."

For a second I actually thought Blake was going to tell Suzie about sex. Well he would have if Cole hadn't said anything.

"Ignore Cole," Shawn said looking at Suzie, "Have you seen Dumbo?"

Suzie nodded so Shawn continued.

"Well those cranes deliver babies. Just like in the movie." Shawn concluded.

"That doesn't make sense Shawn. I'm not stupid," Suzie rolled her eyes, "We end up in the stomachs of our mothers. I'm wondering HOW?"

Well I was not just about to explain this to my little sister. I turned back at da but when Cole started to talk I looked over at him.

"So there's this special meatball that moms can eat, and they eat the meatball that has you in it and you grow in their stomach," Cole said really fast.

Suzie looked down at her food, knitting her eyebrows together like she was thinking.

I stared at Cole but I wasn't the only one. Blake mouthed, 'What the fuck?'

Cole shurgged looking like he had no idea. I think he just made that up at the top of his head, because I swear I have never heard that story before.

"So I'm a meatball?" Suzie asked.

"Sue this is just one of those things where you'll find out when you're older," I said just as Cole opened his mouth.

"So am I a meatball?" Suzie asked again.

"Well would you look at the time," Shawn said exaggerating a yawn and stretch, "I am TIRED! Well goodnight everyone."

He got up, put his empty plate in the sink and headed upstairs. I glanced at Cole and Blake, it was like we thought the same thing because at the same time we got up repeating what Shawn had done. When I reached the stairs I practically ran to my room. Well that was definitely awkward. I hope I don't have to have 'The Talk' with Suzie.

When I reached my room I realized it was older than usual. It's definitely getting colder outside. I was just going to put on some shorts and a tank top but I decided against it. So I kept the shorts but instead of a tank top I put on a sweatshirt. My head kept telling me I need to tell Cole about Thursday. And even though I hate Blake, I need to talk to him so I can tell Mark I'm living here with them. First I went to Cole's room and knocked.

He answered the door and had a toothbrush in his mouth, "Oh ey Orri."

I laughed, "You got a little something...."

I pointed at the corner of my lip and laughed. Cole rolled his eyes and let me through. I went over to his rollie chair and spun around while he rinsed his mouth in his bathoom.

"So what's up?" He asked sitting down at his bed.

"Oh yeah," I said trying to see the world straight and control my breathing from all the laughing.

"You came to me," Cole said matter of factly.

"Yeah it's about tryouts." I sat crisscrossed on the chair facing Cole.

Cole frowned, "Who was it? Who touched you? I'll talk to coach he can get them off your case. Don't worry I'll tell him tomorrow."

I smiled, "It's not that, but thank you for the protectivness."

Cole looked down at his hands, "So what's the problem?"

I sighed, "Do you think it would be bad if I missed a day?"

"Yes," Cole said lying down on his bed, "They wouldn't choose you because they won't take you seriously. Wait why?"

"Because I can't go on Thursday." I said softly. I was scared of what Cole would think. If I didn't go, then I surely wasn't going to make the team. But Mr. Bennett is worth more than that. He's a second father.

"Why? Tori you have to go, if you don't you won't be on the team. All those names and things the guys do to you. They would have won. You can't just not go. You have to go, and you will."

"I can't go. Mark's dad just got back from the military, he had an accident and he's coming home. I'm sorry Cole but I have to go to Mr. Bennett. He's like a father to me. I'm sorry Cole. I'll go to tryouts tomorrow and Friday, but I can't on Thursday." I got up from the chair and left Cole's room. I did feel bad because I know Cole had to go through a lot of trouble to get me on to go to tryouts.

As I walked down to my room I stopped at Blake's door. Just thinking what happened this morning almost made me turn around and walk away. Almost. I knocked at his door and he answered it a couple seconds later. He opened the door, groaned and was about to close it but I put my foot to stop it.

"Wait I just need to ask you something," I still couldn't see Blake, he was behind the door. And the small crack my foot was holding wasn't wide enough to see him in his dark room.

Blake sighed and opened the door, "Make it quick."

"Can I please tell Mark that I live with you?" I asked.

"No." There was no hesitation in his voice. It was almost like he knew I was going to ask that. His voice was flat, no emotions behind it. He was just a rock. Cold and heartless.

"Why?" I frowned, "He won't tell anyone. He's my best friend and it's eating me alive Blake. Just him, let me just tell him."

Blake smirked, "He's your best friend? So how will he will he take it?"

"What'd you mean?" I asked.

"How do you think he'll take it? Knowing that his best friend has been lying to him all this time? He'll probably feel betrayed, used, he'd be angry yet sad at the same time. So go ahead Tori. Tell your best friend you've been living with us for the last three months without telling him. Oh and when you do, get it on tape. I wanna see it." Blake smiled, an devious smile and closed the door. I heard a click and realized he locked it.

I walked back to my room, feeling num all over. Blake's words struck me. This was the second time in one day. When I got under my covers of my bed I started to think. I can't tell Mark now. He probably will hate me. Even though this secret was eating at me, I decided I wouldn't tell him. Not yet atleast.
