I awoke from my slumber and I was disappointed to find Jungkook not to be peacefully sleeping in my embrace. Instead, I was all alone in my bed, my arms holding a pillow.

I mean, what else did I expect? I gave Jungkook a confession, comparing his existence to magic, and he rejected me. He doesn't want me and he doesn't want to be with me.

He'd rather hang out with his gang doing evil things.

An aching in my heart started yesterday and it's getting worse now. I've been rejected a few times in my life and this was the worst I've ever experienced.

I just wanted Jungkook to leave his gang and come with me to safety, and he refused. It wasn't even a full confession of love or asking for a commitment to a relationship, yet his rejection felt just as awful.

And I know why. Because every minute Jungkook was away from me, a minute closer he is to dying.

Well, I don't know if he will take his own life. Time has reversed and I have changed the events of the past. Yet, I don't know if his suicidal thoughts have altered. I don't know if I did anything to help him.

Jungkook has confessed a lot to me, but his confessions were frightening. Just because he was honest with me, it doesn't mean the demons following him won't leave his mind.

I don't know if I made things better or worse.

But I tried, right? I tried my best. I went through tons of obstacles. I put my life down on the line and yet he doesn't want to take my help.

I can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved.

I check the time and it was 4:21 PM. I shower, comb my hair, wash my face and brush my teeth. I put on a sweatshirt, jeans and keds- my style was comfortable and practical. I wore the necklace Jungkook gave me. It was the only thing I had of him and I needed to be reminded what my duty was.

My parents weren't home and I was thankful for that. I knew my brother would be at his friends until 9- I had plenty of time to go out and come back.

My parents gave me some money on the table for lunch- I made myself a sandwich at home and used that money for a cab.

The cab drops me off at Geum's jewelry store.

Taehyung would not respond or call me back. I haven't had contact with him since I last saw him and Jimin at Geum's- it only seems proper to go where I last saw them.

I open the door and walk to the cash register. Instead of the perky red-head from yesterday, there was a brown haired man that took her place.

"Yes, Miss is there anything you need?" He grins politely.

I check his name tag and his name is Jihoon. "Yes, Jihoon, there is. There was a red-head yesterday named Byeol working here- is there anyway I can speak with her?" I request.

He checks the log-book and seems confused. "There is nobody named Byeol working here. And I would know if someone with bright red hair had a job here."

"Are you a new worker? She helped me out yesterday to look for engagement rings," I explain.

He seems offended that I was questioning his position. "I have been working here for the past 5 years and I can assure you, I would know if there was a Byeol."

Now I felt angry. I might be ditzy at times but I know that I'm in the right jewelry shop.

"Can you check the security cameras? I can assure you that Byeol was working here yesterday!" I blurt out.

"You have no authority to demand to see security footage. You better leave or I'll force you to."

I begin tearing up. "Please. My friends have gone missing and the last time I've seen them here was at this shop. You're my only hope," I plead.

He rolls my eyes at my patheticness. "Fine if you're that desperate... I suppose I can bend the rules for you."

I bow down and thank him multiple times. I didn't care if he'll see the footage of me and Jimin moving the painting. I don't care if he'll see me enter the hidden elevator. I don't care if I get arrested. I just needed to know where Jimin and Taehyung went.

We walk into the supply closet and he begins clicking away on a computer that has the security footage.

"The store opened at 8:00 AM yesterday. Can you please rewind to that time?" I politely request.

He rolls his eyes again. "Sure."

The screen showcased nobody entering the store.

   "Huh?" Im confused.

"I guess nobody came to the store at the time. Nobody usually does."

"Can you show me footage of the inside of the store at 8:40 AM?"

The screen showcases someone tidying up the store. But it wasn't a bright red-headed woman. Instead, it was a blonde, elderly lady.

"Are you sure this is the right footage?"

Jihoon nods. "Of course. That's who was working at the store yesterday."

"Okay forward to 8:51 AM." He forwards the footage inside the store and a person finally comes in. But it's not me, Jimin, or Taehyung. It's a young black haired woman.

This makes no sense. Yesterday at 8:30 AM-on the dot- we entered the store. At about 8:51 AM, me and Jimin removed the painting from the wall. Why wasn't the footage showcasing the correct events that happened?

Unless of course... if the footage was replaced. I look up to the worker, and he gave me a polite, forced smile. This man knows the original footage was erased and replaced and he's trying to fool or confuse me.

Suddenly his friendly smile seemed overbearing and fake. His whole persona reeked of lies, and I was scared to be in this tiny closet with him. What if he tried to hurt me and erase footage of my existence? I don't know who to trust or be around anymore.

"You know what...maybe I'm at the wrong store," I nervously chuckle.

He grins again, with that freaky false smile of his. "Perhaps. The footage i showed you isn't displaying what you're saying."

I nod. "I've been lacking on sleep so that makes sense. Sorry to disturb you." I turn away from him and try to exit the tiny, closet that was making me claustrophobic.

He grabs my wrist and I turn back around. I pull from him and he won't let me go. Oh my god, he's gonna hurt me!

He inches closer and smiles. "Of course. I'm here to serve the customer. But please don't tell anyone I showed you this footage-I'm really not allowed to."

I politely grin. "Of course. It'll be our little secret."

He finally lets go and I'm free from his grasp. I walk away at a decent speed and he calls out "Have a good day!"

"You too!" I call back out. When I'm finally at the exit of the store, I finally feel like I can breathe.

There's two stores besides Geum's. I ask the pizza store's owner if I'm allowed to check their security cameras but they demand a warrant. The store besides that was closed.

I huff to myself. There was a security camera down the street that should be able to see the front of Geum's. If I'm able to retrieve that footage, maybe I'll be able to see where Jimin and Taehyung went.

I had no choice. Taehyung wasn't responding to my calls or texts and I was worried. His and Jimin's existences were very important to me. They're my friends.

Jungkook was also my friend but he wasn't acting like it. I've risked my life multiple times for him, yet he didn't want to be with me or be saved. There's a limit to what I could do, and I decided I'll give him space and see what happens.

School is on Monday and Jungkook can't avoid me forever.

Using my credit card, I take another cab to the police station. I see Deborah at the front desk.

"Deborah, do you remember me?" I ask.

"Oh yeah, you're Taehyung's friend. How could I forget?" She cheerfully sing-songed. She doesn't seem upset by my presence, which means she didn't know about me and Jimin sneaking into the security camera room.

"Deborah, I need your help. Jimin and Taehyung are missing." She files a missing persons report but Taehyung and Jimin weren't found in the citizens' database. I couldn't explain they were supernatural so I just explained they had different nationalities.

"They're not from Korea?" Deborah asks and I shake my head.

"Huh, Taehyung gave me a mysterious vibe but not that mysterious." She takes a puff from her cigarette.

"Would you be able to check the security footage from the street in front of Geum's?" I ask.

She shows me the footage but there's a blind spot and we cannot see the front of the store. She rewinds and forwards the footage, but could not see Taehyung, Jimin or me.

I ask if she could check the security footage from the pizza store next to Geum's. She calls them and the pizza shop owner explains that their camera was broken and they could not provide the footage. They hung up.

I groan. I had no evidence of Taehyung and Jimin's existences besides mine and Deborah's memories.

I sigh. "Please tell me if you find anything. I'm worried for their safety."

Deborah nods. "I am, too. I'll keep looking."

I wave to her goodbye and exit the police station. It's 6:22 PM. I take another cab home and reach there in forty minutes.

I catch up on some missed homework I had from days when I was absent in class. It was finally 11 PM and I decide to go to bed.

Groggily, I wake up at 9:30 the next morning. It was Sunday and I spent the day doing chores and other missed homework. I called the police station and Deborah informs me there's no news of Taehyung and Jimin.

I fall asleep at about midnight.

Monday morning I woke up, thinking about Jungkook.

    Only 12 days left...

I can do this, I think when I'm tying up my shoes. I did plenty of things in 13 days and in the 15 days remaining I can do a lot also.

I sat in my English classroom, 10 minutes before class started. Jungkook didn't approach me but someone else familiar did.

"Wow, Y/n. Didn't know you were such a gold digger," Ji Hee says.

    Oh no. Not this skank.

I ruffle my hair, confused. "What do you mean Jisoo-I mean Ji Hee. Whatever your name is."

She rolls her eyes. "First you date a multimillionaire model boyfriend. Then you try to put your claws into the mayor's son."

Oh, right. Jungkook's celebrity status was revealed at the party Friday night.

"I mean none of us knew Jungkook was that rich, but of course you tried to pounce on his goods before the rest of us could." Behind her, a gaggle of girls stand behind her.

I gulp. "Look, I had no idea who Jungkook was before Friday. Maybe I just like him as a friend, not for his status or wealth? Ever thought of that?"

The bell rings and Ji Hee sits at her desk. "Whatever. You just seemed suspicious, that's all."

All of the seats are filled, except the one next to me.

"Alright, I'm taking attendance!" Mr. Kang announces.

"Y/n?"

"Here," I say.

"Ji Hee?"

"Here."

"Minho?"

"Here."

"Jungkook?" No response.

"Is Jeon Jungkook here today?" Mr. Kang repeats.

The class shrugs and people begin to whisper.

"Guess not," Mr. Kang murmurs.

Behind me, I hear my classmates gossiping.

"Of course he wouldn't be here. It was just revealed he's Mayor Jeon's son! He's a celebrity and needs protection now."

"Do you think he'll ever come back to school?"

"Who knows."

I purse my lips. Jungkook has to come back to school. How else will I help him?

Monday passes. No Jungkook. Tuesday schoolday passes and I call Deborah at the police station. No updates on Taehyung and Jimin. Jungkook didn't show up to school either.

It was Wednesday during lunch period. I was sitting at a table alone outside, listening to music and eating kimbap.

I was in the midst of daydreaming until someone interrupted me.

"Hey, Y/n," someone scoots next to me on the table.

"Hey, Elijah!" I smile. Elijah was my long-time friend who I defended with Jungkook when he wore a hand-made dress to school. We don't speak everyday or have much classes, but it was always a pleasure to see him.

"You have got to see this." Elijah hands me his phone.

"What is it?"

"Jeon Jungkook is on the news."
