Chapter 7

"She's been in there for hours..."

"I am sure she is fine, Jungkook."

"No, you do not understand, hyung. I have never seen someone so mad that they found their mate."

I find myself pacing across my room, restless from what happened earlier. My thoughts run wild and my eyes persistently keep changing color. My wolf never used to show up. Not once have we had a friendly conversation because we were always at each other's necks. After I shut her out and ran away, she was furious, forcefully waking me up and barking insults at me.

Get out of my head!

You left him!

She does not listen to me. I feel my breath quickening and my head pounding like an awful weight is being pressed against my mind. She hates me.

"Y/n, we should talk!" Yoongi calls from the other side of the door. I lean my head against the wood, trying to take deep breaths. Her loud and dominating thoughts overwhelm me, forcing its way like a plague.

"I can't control her," my voice trembles from the pain. She growls through me and I hear a yelp from the other side of the door that sounds like Jungkook.

"Do not fight your wolf, Y/n," Yoongi and his wolf had a deeper bond than most people including Jungkook. He could take my Alpha voice but only for a little while, "Let her take over."

My teeth grit harshly that I could taste a little of my blood from my fangs inching out. Ignoring what Yoongi says, I press her back further but she does not back down.

My mind slips and just like that, I lose control of myself. My consciousness floats out of my body. I can not move. I am just a spectator watching my wolf take full control of my being.

I am the Alpha, Y/n. It is time you realize that.

You can't do this!

She lets out another menacing growl. It feels like somebody lit me on fire, something large and suffocating is swallowing me whole. Sinking into the depths of darkness and the void.

I hear Yoongi's voice, "Alpha. Please open the door. I wish to speak with you."

My wolf violently opens the door open, her eyes filling with pure fire. I watch my two Betas speak to my wolf from afar.

Both of their heads bow, showing respect to the Alpha. They have to be careful around my wolf. One wrong move and they can be done for. Jungkook faintly trembles, intimidated by the Alpha but held strong nonetheless. Yoongi is rather calm but I can sense his uneasiness from his wolf.

"You may rise my Betas," my wolf commands. They both look up but avoid my gaze. My wolf would wreak havoc if another wolf met her eyes.

"Alpha, Y/n did not mean to infuriate you. She is upset and confused, I am sure she did not mean to offend you," Yoongi tries to reason.

My wolf growls, "She knows well enough and the consequence of her actions. She left our mate and is planning to reject him. I cannot let her take him away from us."

Yoongi whimpers from the Alpha's rage. He cannot keep strong for much longer. His wolf is becoming more willing to submit.

Jungkook speaks this time, "She won't reject him! We promise you, we will not let her reject her mate." He grits his teeth from the intense aura she radiates.

My wolf scoffs, "If she fails to comply, I will personally make sure Y/n never comes back." My eyes return to their normal color. Like a blast from a shock wave, all my senses came back at once.

Everything was spinning and before I knew it, I felt myself crashing towards the floor.

"Y/n!" I barely hear Jungkook and Yoongi shout. I try to stay awake but my wolf used up a significant amount of energy staying present in my human form. I feel myself being lifted by what feels like Jungkook.

"Are you okay?!" I hear him ask.

"Yeah," I manage to mumble, "Just really spent."

Gently they place me on the bed. Yoongi worriedly pats a cool towel on my forehead, removing the beads of sweat and trying to calm my overheating body. Jungkook hurriedly opens the windows trying to let some breeze come in.

"That was not really smart of you, Y/n. Going against your wolf like that." Yoongi says while brushing away loose strands of hair covering my face.

"I know," I cannot bring myself to say anything else. I try to calm myself down waiting for my body to relax. The cool air feels pleasant, brushing against my skin.

After a while, my breathing returns to normal and my temperature reduces. Jungkook helps me sit up and they both take a seat on the bed next to me.

"Are you guys okay?" I ask while leaning against Jungkook.

"Well other than the fact that we were almost murdered by your wolf. I think we are good," Yoongi says.

"Are you kidding, I nearly shit my pants!" retorts Jungkook and I chuckle lightly.

"Mm sorry," I mumble, feeling the guilt cloud my mind. Jungkook wraps an arm around me, lightly squeezing me. I smile at the small gesture.

Jungkook replies, "Don't be. Everything turned out fine, didn't it?" I hum in response.

"Not everything..." My voice croaks out.

Yoongi reaches out to hold my hand, "What's wrong?"

I gulp, "I..I may not be Alpha if I accept my mate." I fiddled with my fingers in my lap.

"What?"

I look at Yoongi, "The Elders. There is a reason female Alphas do not last very long. They suspected that once I found my mate the Moon Goddess would shift my power over to him. Either that or they will force me to give up my rank."

Both of them look at me in shock. "We do not know that for sure, Y/n! What if he does not want to be Alpha?" Jungkook points out.

I roll my eyes sadly, "What wolf does not want to be the Alpha."

"Still," Yoongi reasons, "the Elders can not absolutely force that to happen. Besides, we will not serve anybody else except you, Y/n. You will always be our Alpha even if he is your mate."

A small smile creeps on my face, "At least I have you guys, my best friends." I felt their warmth around me. Even though everything feels hopeless, their attempt to comfort me makes me feel sure of myself.

"You need some rest. We will wake you up when supper is ready," Jungkook attempts to let go of me.

"Nooo. Take a nap with me. Like when we were kids. Remember when we used to do that," I plead.

Yoongi inches away, "That was awful. I was always kicked off the bed by you two snorers always hogging the blanket."

Jungkook on the other hand was already getting comfortable next to me pulling the blanket all the way up. "Come on Yoongi hyung, don't be a pussy."

"No, please. Don't do this~" Yoongi whines.

Together, we pull him to the soft mattress of the bed. It is a wonder that we all fit on here, I am squished between two other wolves but I do not care.

Jungkook is nearly on top of me, his body crushing mine while Yoongi stiffly closes his eyes, slightly leaning against me. The blanket is thrown haphazardly across Jungkook and I, leaving Yoongi out in the open. I softly chuckle to myself.

Some things never change.

AU FACT: The inner wolf has the ability to take full control of the human vessel, but only for a short amount of time. An extended period of control may result in fatigue, memory loss, and in extreme cases, a weakened heart, deafness, and even death.
