The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.

XLIII | DRUG LORD

I smiled as I continued to stare at my promise ring, sometimes I would do this when I'm bored or just feel like looking at it. I gently kissed it and I swear it looked like it sparkled even more. I then touched my golden necklace, my hand gently touched the heart shape design, with the word Veece in the center.

I turned to look at the sleeping figure on the bed, he had his covers wrapped around him and a frown planted on his face. I didn't like how he had a frown planted on his lips, it was sometimes a concern to me.

I stood up from his white couch since I was watching YouTube videos on his Apple laptop with his earpiece. I placed them gently on the coffee table and walked towards him.

He was sleeping on the edge of his bed, a few strands of brown hair lightly reached his eyes.

I gently brushed it away from his eyes which caused him to stir in his sleep, I silently chuckled before planting a gentle peck on his lips, before exiting his room.

Again I have gotten used to the West Manor, sure I haven't been inside every room here, but I have been to the game room, theatre room, spa room and others so far. I crept down the stairs and walked towards the direction of the kitchen, I saw Gretchen talking with someone on the phone, she was the assistant chef in the kitchen.

When she realized I was there she smiled at me before telling the person goodbye. "Is that your son?" I asked. Gretchen was a really nice woman and we've gotten to know each other pretty well lately.

She was in her early sixties, her husband died at war when she was only twenty-one, so she had to take care of their son at such a young age by herself, she never remarried though, now her son was already grown and had children of his own.

She nodded. "Si, I said hello to my cute little grandchildren," she said and I laughed as I rested my elbow on the center island.

"Anything you would like to eat Violetta?" She continued.

I thought about it for a second. "Can you make me and Reece spaghetti, please?" I questioned since it was late in the afternoon on a school day.

She nodded and started to prepare the ingredients.

"Hello, Violetta." I turned to see Reece's mom, Amelia, walk inside the kitchen, she had a pencil skirt and a pink button up top on along with heels.

"Oh, hi Amelia, are you heading to work?" I asked and she nodded, grabbing a pear from the center island fruit table.

"Yes, me and Andrew have this big meetin' today, which is very important," she told me, whilst washing her pear. Andrew was the name of Reece's father.

I nodded and quickly said goodbye to her as she left the kitchen.

After the spaghetti was done, me and Gretchen took the tray and drinks to Reece's room. I used my other hand to open the door and saw Reece already sitting on his bed, looking tired with confusion of his face, probably wondering where I was.

Me and Gretchen placed the tray and drinks on his nightstand, as I sat on his bed next to him, I thanked Gretchen as she left.

Before I could greet Reece, I felt lips crash onto mine. I was gently pushed to lay on the bed, I smiled into the kiss.

"I missed you," he whispered in my ear, before attacking my neck, I playfully rolled my eyes.

"Reece, you were only sleeping for like, two hours," I laughed, I felt him smile on my neck.

He sat down on his bed and gently placed me on his lap. "Then I missed you for two hours," he said, once again capturing my lips.

I playfully rolled my eyes when both of his hands went to my butt.

I pulled away from this kiss and playfully scowled. "Why must you always put your hands on my butt when we are sitting on a bed and kissing each other?" I asked he smirked.

My question causing him to actually squeeze my butt and this time, I playfully smacked him. "It's my favorite part about you," he said, licking his lips.

I was going to get our food but Reece held me in place.  "Reece, I'm just going to get our lunch from your table," I said sternly, he pouted and rested his head on my covered breasts.

I sighed because, to be honest, I really was hungry.

We heard Reece's room door open, but Reece, of course, liked the position we were in and didn't even flinch.

"Hashtag, boobs deserve better." I looked up and rolled my eyes at Landon when all of our friends entered inside Reece's room.

"Fuck off, all of you, as you can see we are clearly busy," Reece sneered, adjusting his head on my breast and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, we can definitely see that," Miles said, walking over to our food, he grabbed the fork and began to eat it.

I pouted. My spaghetti.

"What are you guys doing here anyway? We love you all, but seriously, what are you guys doing here?" I questioned and everyone smirked.

"We are going camping," Zoey said, Ocean's face immediately dropped.

"What the fuck did you just say?" she shouted.

"Landon, what did you do?" Jake said, giving Landon a stern face as Ronnie wrapped her arms around his waist.

Landon raised his hand in defence. "Okay, so I may or may not have told her we are going to a resort, instead of camping, oh, come on you guys, you know she wouldn't have come if I said camping," Landon groaned and Ocean was ready to attack him if it wasn't for Miles who kept her in place, while balancing my spaghetti in his other hand.

"Eh, he does have a point there," Laurianne admitted as Chase slugged his arm on her shoulders.

"I didn't pack any wilderness clothes, you idiot," she said and Zoey smirked.

"Don't worry, I had already packed clothes secretly for you, when you went to take a shower earlier and put them inside my suitcase," Zoey said and Ocean sighed.

"I'm still not going okay, there will be bugs and dirt, and bugs," she whined, shivering as Miles released his hand from her waist once he noticed she wasn't going to attack Landon anymore.

"Well, you're still going," Landon said and she glared at him, he ignored her and looked at me and Reece. "Okay lovebirds, hurry up and start packing," Landon said.

I tried to move but once again, Reece didn't even budge. "Reece, please let go of the poor girl," Ronnie sighed.

"No," Reece said.

"Reece," Ocean said sternly.

"No."

"I swear you're more stubborn than Romeo and that's saying something," Zoey said sighing and walking towards us.

She rested her hands on Reece's shoulder and tried to pull him away from me, but once again, he still wouldn't budge.

"Reece, let her go right now or I swear I will slap you so hard that even your future kids will feel it," Ocean said and Ronnie gasped.

"No, not the Veece babies," she she said and I rolled my eyes.

Reece finally let go of me and I sighed in relief as I got off his bed. "Good boy, now I'm just going to grab Violetta so we can quickly get her packed and we will be right back," Ronnie smiled, grabbing my hand as we left Reece's room and walked down the stairs.

We entered outside and Ronnie opened the car door to Jakes green Lamborghini.

"He's allowing you to drive it?" I asked while getting in the passenger's seat.

She started the car and nodded. "Yup, surprising right," she answered as we started to leave Reece's house.

"So, your grandma's wedding is next week," Ronnie brought up and I groaned as she joined the other moving cars.

"Don't remind me," I mumbled. I have to face that evil witch again.

"Are you bringing all of us or just Reece?" She asked and I rubbed my face with my hands.

"All of you are coming okay, I need at least four people to prevent me from attacking that old bat if she tries to insult me," I said and she laughed.

Ronnie and Chase met my grandmother once during sophomore year, yeah, cutting straight to the point, she treated them nicely, while once again treating me like garbage.

"I want to hate her because you know she hates you, but ugh, she was just so nice, her chocolate chip cookies are amazing," she said and I frowned.

"Yeah while all of you got the good ones, she made sure I got the black burnt ones," I complained, scowling.

Ronnie parked in front of my house, I knew Dad and Mom were out with my siblings, so I quickly texted my Dad.

Dad, going camping with the group, I'll let you know when I'll be back.

I texted him as me and Ronnie entered inside the house.

Okay, make sure to take the condoms I bought for you and Reece, me and your mother can't be grandparents just yet.

I sighed at his text, wondering if he would ever stop with the condom comments and planted my phone in the pocket of my grey sweats.

Me and Ronnie walked up the stairs to my room as I brought out my purple suitcase. "How long are we staying there for?" I asked as Ronnie sat on my bed.

"Just until Sunday," she replied and I nodded since today was Friday.

I put two shorts, tops and underwears inside along with my toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, perfume and others necessities.

And of course, the most important thing of all, my Harry Potter novel.

I changed into shorts with a red top with sneakers since I already took a shower at Reece's house.

I grabbed my black sunglasses and put them on as I zipped my suitcase up.

Ronnie looked at me and nodded in approval. "See, aren't you glad I forced you to go shopping with me last week," she said and I rolled my eyes as we left my room.

We walked back to Jake's car and I put my suitcase in his trunk as Ronnie started the car. Keeping in mind that this isn't the same car me and Ronnie hid in when we went to the racing track. It was Jake's other car, a Range Rover to be exact.

Ronnie drove back to Reece's house and everyone was already outside, a green van was now parked in Reece's driveway as everyone had a frown on their faces while Landon was speaking to someone on the phone.

I got out of Jake's car and removed my luggage from the trunk.

"What's going on?" Ronnie said as I placed my luggage along with everyone else's on Reece's porch.

"This van is crap," Chase said, pointing to the green van.

I glanced at it. It did look kind of old and out of shape.

Landon got off the phone. "Okay guys, so my cousin Bobby said it may be out of shape, but it's not going to break down or anything," Landon said, walking towards us.

"Oh, your cousin a mechanic or something?" I asked.

"Nah, he's a drug lord," he said and all our faces went blank.

"Your cousins a drug lord?" Jake questioned in disbelief and Landon shrugged.

"As long as he doesn't get caught or dies, I don't really care what he does," he said.

"So you want us to enter into a van of a drug lord?" Laurianne said slowly so Landon can register that simple statement well in his brain.

Landon shrugged, "guys chill, there are no drugs inside this van anyway, Bobby isn't dumb" he stated.

"Okay, if that statement is true, then who's driving?" Zoey asked.

"I guess I will," Miles said, collecting the key from Landon as he got into the driver's seat. The rest of us put our suitcases in the trunk of the old beat-up van before entering inside.

Jake, Ronnie, Chase, and Laurianne took the back seats. Ocean, Landon taking the middle seats and me and Reece taking the front seat that was at the back of the driver's seat.

Zoey sat in the passenger's seat while holding a navigation map as Miles started the car. It purred to life and not in a very good way.

"Mate, are you sure this is safe? I can just call my chauffeur and we can take the limo or somethin'," Reece suggested, turning to Landon.

Landon shook his head no. "No, people don't bring limo's to a camp, let's just enjoy this while we can," Landon said.

"You're an idiot," Ocean said, turning to him.

He smirked and yawned, trying to rest his arm behind Ocean's head, she quickly removed it and scoffed in disgust.

I turned back to the window as Miles began to drive out of Reece's driveway, I rested my head on Reece's shoulder as he wrapped his arm around me, kissing the top of my head.

I brought out my phone and earbuds, starting to listen to music, trying to block out Ocean and Landon as they were arguing in the back.
